Customer Reviews for PROVEN WINNERS 2 Gal. Spilled Wine Weigela Shrub with Bright Pink Flowers and Deep Purple Foliage

I bought a total of 10 of the spilled wine weigela in separate transactions at the same store. Most looked decent but a couple looked a bit dry and had wilting leafs. I left the two worst ones at the store on my first trip as I thought I could try spacing the 8 a bit further away from each other. At $30 each, it was worth a try. I ended up going back and getting the 2 that were in a more wilted state because the area I was planting them in looked batter with all 10 plants. They are in the ground now and I hope they will do great a perk right up. I'm in zone 8b. Plants are marked good for zones 4-8. I bought these over azaleas since weigela is safe for dogs and azaleas are considered toxic to dogs. I have two golden retrievers that generally leave the azaleas alone. If the weigela die, I will replace with azaleas and keep telling the pups to "LEAVE IT" as they get near the azaleas. When I went back to get the last two weigela plants, the cashier told me that only the vender that brings the plants to Home Depot can mark them discounted. A store manager should be able to do this. I certainly hope the plants make it.

The plants were larger than expected, and were shipped in sturdy boxes. Plants were very healthy. Blooming season had ended , so I’ll get to enjoy flowers next spring.

The plants arrived in a secure box. The quality of the plants seemed fine. I planted them the day I received them and I am confident that they took — they look strong and healthy.

Unsure if this shrub is going to bloom. There are no buds, just purple leaves.Iguess I thought there would be blossoms (as pictured in ad) or at least buds. It's been planted now for about 2 weeks. I gave it some fertilizer hoping that will give it a boost. Package was damaged when delivered but plant was not.

This was my first time to order a plant online from Home Depot. I was very impressed with how well it was packed. The shrub showed up looking beautiful, in good shape and still moist enough there wasn’t any wilt. It had been in transit for a week. Lovely plant that is now in our daughter’s new landscape. I love Weigela ‘Spilled Wine.'

I haven’t seen the flowers growing yet . Next spring , I’m looking forward to see the flowers growing on time , then I can see and grade the flower.

So far they seem to be taking to the soil. Getting ready to flower.

The plant came in perfect condition it got planted the following day and looks great and yes I would order again and I did as a matter of fact order 6 more plants. Surveys to follow when I get them.

It is not doing well had to cut half of it way because it died the first week. Not really sure it is going to make it but trying to keep it alive.

They’re doing better now that they’re in the ground. Two of them weren’t in the best shape when they arrived. And since it looks like they were pruned, I don’t know if they’ll have flowers this year.

Plant is very small and skimpy for size pot

The plants did not look like the picture online which are bloomed out. Three of the five shrubs are not growing leaves. I believe they are dead.

The plants were infected with scale disease and had to return them.
