Durable, modern, stylish - attached to wall stubs
This awning from Canopia has checked almost all boxes: durable, heavy duty and modern looking. My biggest concern with this awning is the installation. The assembly instruction is adequate and the direction indicated you to fully assemble the unit and lift it up above your window/door to bolt onto the wall. I used my own installation step to put this up basically with 1 person: 2nd person to guide the panel onto the rail.

Installation is more difficult than the instructions lead on. It will take more than two people on two ladders to put up the 7’ design. I combined two 7’ pieces and it was quite the weight to lift, hold in place, and bolt to the wall. There were five people total on three ladders and we couldn’t have done it with one less person. Enjoying it now that it is up,but it was some work.

Don't buy
Didn't come with parts described by website for attaching to exterior wall. Will most likely rip off one first snow fall due to it being impossible to fasten to studs. Plastic scratches very easily. Coating of paint scratches very easily.
Other than the above, it looks nice...

Cheap
Don’t buy this at the price. If it was $500, it would be reasonable for a cheap product.
Plastic scratches just by touching it.
Metal frame scratches by touching it.
Does not come with the parts described on manufacturer’s website. Has no backplane to attach to. Which means you can’t install into load bearing 2x4.
Most likely is going rip off the wall forest snow fall.

Installation Key Question - BEWARE
In order for the brackets to be drilled into a stud, you must know the measurement distance between the 2 brackets IN ADVANCE of purchasing, as your studs may not fall in a location conducive to placement as you desire. This measurement is NOWHERE to be found. I am waiting for the American distributor to get the measurement from the engineers in Israel (!!!) This makes ZERO sense. Currently, I have $3K worth of products (two 10 footers) that we may not be able to use....and waiting for the said measurement on a 7 footer to know if we can go that route instead. Meanwhile my GC is ringing up the money I will have to pay him as we continue to try and figure this out without having to wreck walls and add extra bracing (no, just no!!!). This is just beyond ridiculous!!!! Wish me luck

Hi, thank you for taking the time to place the review. We are sorry to read that you had problems with finding the measurements. They appear in the content pages, one page before stage 1 of the installation. The left leg should be placed 14.5" from the edge of the panel. The leave a 51.7" distance and install the connection section which is 29.5" wide. Then another 51.7 distance until installation of the right leg which again should be placed 14.5" from the right edge of the panel. This reguried more assembly than expected but it fit a low clearance are nicely ! Also 3 people for final installation helps.Again, it fit perfect ,is made well, and looks great on this brick ranch built in 1954.
