I really like the tool and have used it for planting bulbs, small plants and making holes for tree fertilizer sticks. I am 77 and like that I don't have to bend down, I can step on it and use my body weight as a tool. I volunteer at a grade school where the students and I do all the planting and the children love to use it.

I love this new tool for planting any kind of bulb or annual. It makes the hole with the pressure of your foot not your arm. I planted 100 bulbs in record time.

Seemed heavy and bulky when the box arrived but it is perfect. The weight helps with the hole digging and you can step on it and twist to get a larger hole for bigger bulbs. Have back and knee problems but wanted to naturalize our 6 acres of woods for the spring. Thought maybe I was stupid ordering 150 spring bulbs but this tool made it easy. I will be using it to plant other things too since it can easily make a hole about 2 inches across even in difficult spots. It has a lifetime warranty and this thing is definitely going to outlive me.

Easy to use

Depends on what you want to use it for: - If you are planting bulbs in an existing bed, it is no good at all. Since it doesn't extract a core of dirt, you still need to dig the dirt out with a trowel or use a regular corer bulb planer. - If you are using it to naturalize bulbs in a lawn or in a rocky place with compacted soil, it is great. It is totally solid, and you can really lean on it to break up the soil. I still use a corer planter after I use this, but it makes planting bulbs in the lawn much, much easier.

I am not impressed with this garden tool. It is sturdy & strong which I was concerned about. It just dosen’t do the job as I was expecting, I still had to bend over & use a small hand tool to clear the hole as the dirt would fall back into the hole I made when i pulled the tool up.

Love this Bulb Planter. It was easy to use and went thru the dirt easily, but the ground was soft. All you do is step on it, twist and it makes the hole. Wish the point would make a little bigger hole and it move the dirt out of the way better.I planted 200 bulbs and it took me around 2 hours.

Makes it easy to plant many bulbs. Highly recommend!

Exactly as described, and made easy work out of planting 175 bulbs. In softer, dry soil, the hole does sort of fill in on itself, but once you get the hang of what you're working with, the job goes quickly. (Only took about an hour to do 175 bulbs) In denser or wetter soil, this tool was perfect!

Much easier to work with than a tiller where you use just your arm strength.

For older folks or just people who don't want to take a small hand tool to dig a hole to plant any flowers or groundcovers, this is the best tool and for a great price. Since my knees hurt, I just make the holes and my daughter drops in the plants. Works every time.

This is the bulb planter to buy! The price is a little higher than I expected at $30. 00 but it sure pays off for my knees and back. Love the 'step', and only wish the length of handle was longer. We used the "2 party" method of planting, I used the planter, and my partner placed the bulbs. Easiest mass planting I've ever done, at 200+ bulbs. Buy this planter for saving back, knees, results, general smarts. Or laziness, depending on how you look at it. Worth the money!

Great product

Sturdy built, easy to use. The one issue I have is it sort of pushes the dirt to the side. As opposed to the plug style, where you can replace the plug.

The low price raised concerns but the overall design and appearance of the welds and construction seemed better than the many more expensive designs so I bought this. It is excellent--sturdy, easy to use and the foot pad saves your hands and back. After planting over 250 bulbs in clay soil it is still in great shape. Highly recommended.

Unbelievable how easy this tool is to use! I planted tomatoes and other vegetables in minutes. What I really liked about this tool is that you don't have to bend down and throw you back out!
