I ordered this PERGO APPLEWOOD 0.51 IN. T X 1.87 IN. W X 84.6 IN. LAMINATE 5-IN-1 MOLDING, LIGHT to do a floor in a guest bathroom and a small bedroom that connects to it. The original tile in the bathroom was from the 50's and very dated, this floor is nice & natural looking and doesn't scream "this was put in at such & such decade" LOL! The moulding is double boxed and arrived without issues. (see pics) It comes with a tool for install (see pic) and goes very well with the flooring (see pic). In the picture I put the molding in between 2 flooring planks to show even with the variations in the color of the 2 planks, the moulding goes very nicely with it. I took the pics in late afternoon sunlight outside so you can see the actual color of the moulding. LED lights BTW seem to take out some of the brown tones and accent the grey tones. I wanted to install some new flooring in my living room. We pulled up the carpeting and the floor was now painted concrete. Yuck! I chose Paradise Jatoba, because it's a reasonably good match with the wood that's on our stairs. This is a new Pergo floor. It's called Outlast + and it's waterproof! Yes, waterproof. The color is a nice warm orangish red. The quarter round trim is slightly lighter. The threshold is the new all in one, where it can be trimmed for different heights. Installation. This is very typical laminate flooring, but since it's waterproof, the planks need to click solidly or there will be a gap. It takes a little more force vs regular laminate. The first row needs the tongue to be trimmed. Only trim the side that goes into the groove. The groove itself needs to be on the ground, then the tongue goes into the groove and is pushed down to lock it in place. The reason the tongue needs to be trimmed is so that the plank can come closer to the wall - not too big a gap or the quarter round won't cover it. The end piece on the first row is used to start the second row. As long as the piece is at least 5 inches long, it can be used. I have a huge TIP - line up the entire row and click into place. Take the entire row and place it over the groove, then lift at a 45 degree angle and push down - make sure the planks lock tightly! You can tap the edges if there's a gap. If you're laying the floor over concrete, make sure you use a vapor barrier over the concrete. Make sure to leave a 1/8" gap all around the flooring. This will allow the floor to shrink and grow with temperature and humidity. The floor has a very nice, elegant look. The finish is glossy. The planks have a scraped look - see pictures below. It's a very solid material and feels great under foot. Also, the floors have an attached foam backing. Overall, our floor looks fantastic. It's a nice warm wood and makes our house feel light and airy. It adds a nice elegance to the room And it feels great to walk on!

Living on a working farm I needed flooring that cleaned well and that was tough as nails. It has to endure farm boots the dogs toe nails and the occasional baby goat rescue. The Pergo paradise Jatoba is amazing. The flooring is easy to install and the 5 in 1 molding made for smooth transitions from tile flooring on 1 side and vinyl on the other side. The flooring has padding attached to it already so that saved time. So happy we chose Pergo products.

I installed the Pergo 5-in-1 molding with matching Pergo Auburn scraped oak flooring in an entry way and hallway. I was apprehensive at first that a "Laminate" flooring was the way to go, but those doubts have been removed - it's durable and beautiful ! Most surprising was how easy it was to install, once I got the hang of it, the installation was actually a fun weekend project. The matching molding and the 5-in-1 system made transitions to walls, carpet and tile look natural and complementary to the laminate flooring. The scrapped oak distress finish on the laminate is not overly done and adds real wood depth,character and texture, as does the matching "T" and "1/4" round moldings. I'm very pleased with the Pergo flooring system that offers all that is needed for a DIY'er to achieve professional installation results.

I'm not an expert on floor moldings, but the way this Pergo 5-in-1 works is pretty nifty. It comes as one piece, with partial full-length cuts manufactured into it, and includes a little cutting tool for you to finish the job once you decide how you want to use it. Depending on where you cut it, lengthwise, it will work for five different situations you might run into when replacing your floor (see information above for the five different transitions it's capable of). You do pay a little bit more for having this capability, so weigh that into your choice. The main body of the molding is finely pressed wood, so be careful of the ends, they damage easily. As far as matching to the floor coloring, not very good. I found the trim to be more tan, less red than the flooring. To be fair, this is pretty common with trim.

I left proper space for the item for the molding to lay proper. It is just that I missed cut slightly during the process, Anyway it is in my rent property

I've been to a few stores looking for some flooring for a middle bed room that always looked clean and tidy for my grand kids. This is a very high quality floor. No way near a lot of the others. Goes down easy . It has a styrofoam undercoating so that makes it feel soft when it's down.The matching moulding including there versatile 5 in one mould just finishes it off nicely

I 've been looking around a lot for a lighter good looking quality flooring to put down in my office area of my home. So much of the stuff looked too formal or too "kitcheny" I wanted something that spoke me . This was the one. One of the best looking smooth surfaces . It is real easy to clean and always looks semi shiny and presentable!! I feels it looks very high quality. Has a foam backing so it makes the floor feel soft & giving. Fits together easily and has it's own matching molding including 5 type universal moulding ( real slick to use !) Great company ,great product !

The trim kit includes one piece of trim that is 96 inches long, a trim mounting clip, also 96 inches long and one splitting tool. The trim kit is made from a material similar to pressed wood pulp with a wood grain sticker on the surface. I'm not sure how durable it will be in a doorway, time will tell. The trim is easily cut to length with a standard wood saw, power saws will generate a lot of dust so wear a mask. The splitting tool was a bit tricky to figure out, but once I realized that there is a pre-cut slit for the tool to slot into it became much easier. (see picture) Once you score the molding with the tool it is easily snapped off. You then use the same tool to sand the split edge smooth. again, wear a mask it is dusty. To install the molding you cut the mounting strip to length and attach it to the floor with screws (not included). You then cut the molding to length. If you need to modify the molding profile, simply follow the included instructions to determine which pieces of the molding need to be remove to achieve the desired profile. You then simply insert the cutter of the tool into the pre-cut slot and slide it down the length of the molding. You then snap off the excess and sand the edge smooth. You then snap the molding into the mounting strip.

I've been using Pergo flooring in my homes for a long time and I've been more than happy with the results. I've always felt that Pergo uses quality materials and their engineering is better than other floating floors. Though there is one negative, which isn't a bad one, but I saw the need for improvement - their floors seem to look fake and the material doesn't hold up to water. I recently needed to replace the carpeting in my condo with a "hardwood" floor. I didn't want the solid wood or engineered floor. I feel that either would be too soft and would be damaged too easily. Instead of using an off brand, I decided to stick with Pergo. I chose the color Applewood, because it's very similar to the material I used in the living/dining room. This flooring material is advertised to be water proof, not just water resistant. If my new Outlast + floor is waterproof, I'll be impressed! So far, it seems to be, but time will tell. The planks also come with a light weight hard foam backing. The backing worked great, except on a few planks, the foam peeled away. Installation: The installation is similar to other Pergo planks, but I noticed the pieces take a little more force to lock in place. Maybe due to tighter edges, so water doesn't penetrate into the core. I used two different approaches. I started in the hallway and used a 1/3 stagger (cut the 2nd row 1/3 shorter than the first). Next, I laid the bedroom floor. I used the traditional stagger method, where I used the leftover piece from the previous row to start the next row. Quarter Round: The quarter round installs like any other type. I nailed the pieces to the wall with my small brad/nail gun. A little trick i learned is to use a sharp pen to mark the exact point where I need to cut. For the planks, I used a Sharpie, which allowed for less precise cuts. Also, the quarter round has a top and bottom side (the top is the side where the vinyl wraps over). Allow enough room so the quarter round will allow the floor to move under it or you'll lose the floating nature. Threshold: The threshold is a little different than I've used in the past. The mounting channel is made of plastic and must be either nailed or glued to the existing floor. I glued my channels in. I also had to "slit" the edges of the threshold, so that I could break the un-needed piece off. Be careful using the slitter tool. I wound up pushing the slitter too hard and it cut it's way into the threshold, then it snapped and the blade went into my finger. If it feels like it's binding, ease off and back the tool out. Once the threshold channel glue has dried or is nailed in place, install the threshold. It came out much better than I anticipated. The planks have a very random pattern - I couldn't find two of the same patterns. There's also a look of the wood being scraped. One of my pictures shows the scraped texture. There's also a slight beveled edge on each plank. Where the two planks meet, it looks a lot like a real hardwood floor. I included pictures of the job in progress and the look after it was finished.

Pergo Applewood is the most beautiful color in my opinion! This multi floor reducer has gone through a design change and is way more sturdy than ones I’ve ordered in the past. Sticks are 7 feet long and come as one piece. As you can see in pictures, plastic retainer looks to hold the stick securely once screwed to subfloor. Very high quality and exactly what we needed to finish the flooring!

Recently received this 5-in-1 molding for review. Products were very well packed for shipping and arrived with no damages. This grouping matches the Pergo Applewood laminate perfectly. We have yet to install the new flooring in a rental unit due to the Covid 19 situation but did use a different shade set in our home. Easy install and really brings it together. Note that the carpet reducer piece is plastic which IMO should be metal but took no points off. All in all, this meets my expectations in quality for DIY installations for a very reasonable cost.

Pergo Paradise laminate in Jatoba closely resembles brown cherry hardwood, but with a more pronounced grain profile. I installed the flooring, quarter-round and 5-in-1 molding, so this review is a combination of the three. First, the 5-in-1 molding.It's a good match to the Pergo Paradise Jatoba flooring, that is most important. The 5-in-1 is a nice concept, especially if your installation requires more than one type of molding (although I suppose it's even more convenient for the store, as they only have to stock one piece instead of 5). I have to admit I stared at the molding, the cutter and the tiny instruction sheet (better to read it online!) before I figured out exactly how to make an end molding. The laminate itself is a quality product. I think I've installed about 3000 ft of laminate over the years, my favorite is still the Pergo commercial glue-together floor I installed in the family room 25 years ago. While I don't know for sure that this product will hold up as well for as long, I can say it is 10x easier to install.

This molding is very versatile and can be used for edge trim, or to translon between different flooring or carpeting. When used on flat surfaces it is easy to install the vinyl track that the molding snaps into for an invisible mount. This is an excellent color match for the flooring of the same color. The nice thing about the color matched flooring is that the flooring has foam backing to eliminate any requirement for an underlayment

Not quite a perfect match. Tried different lighting and angles and it still never looked like a color match for either of the two molding pieces I tried. See the photos. The company told me they have a new run coming with improved matching but I haven't received that yet so I can't say if it is better or not. The cutting tool worked surprisingly well though I was doubtful at first. Steady, consistent downward pressure and it cut easily and accurately. Kinda cool to be able to buy one molding and cut it for different transitions. The included plastic track also works fine, holding tight enough to do the job but not so tight that you break either the molding or track if you ever need to remove the molding. I have had that problem many times with the typical metal track.

Color match is really close but not exact but a lot depends on the lighting. The photos show what I mean. From some angles and spectrum of light, it looks spot on, but in another situation it looks close but not quite red enough. Will you really notice? That depends on how closely you look and how precise you want. Also may be effected by what type of lighting you use. The cutting tool included doesn't look like it would work but it does. Just keep consistent downward pressure as you slide it to get a consistent cut. The included flexible track also works just fine and doesn't want to break the molding if you ever need to remove it again.

This is nice trim, and easy to use. It's pressed fiber type wood so take care on the edges. I like that it comes with a coordinating slide in plastic runner with predrilled holes underneath as a separate piece. This can be used in the following ways: 1. T-molding is used to transition between flooring of equal heights and in doorways. 2. Hard-surface reducer connects 2 floors of different heights. 3. End molding can be used to finish flooring where is meets sliding glass doors or vertical surfaces. 4. Carpet reducer transitions between your hard surface floor and carpet. 5. Stair nose can be used to finish stairs. It's a handy all in one product and will speed up any installation. It is prone to split or crumble on the cut ends, be careful and always fasten it far from the final edge to avoid splitting or cracking. 7 foot pieces give you what you need without lots of waste. 2 inches on the widest profile, and just under 1/2" thick tapering to 0 for a smooth transition. The Applewood color on my trim looks gorgeous. This will work on a lot of flooring types, not just wood or laminate. Recommended! Just be careful of the cut edges as said before.

This flooring and molding is perfect. We have been searching for a molding that can be used anywhere. This was perfect! We have several areas that we need to bridge the flooring with our existing hardwood. The T molding fit perfectly to cover the expansion joint and is very sturdy. The molding and the flooring a very tight match and look like they were made for each other.

A great weekend project! Few projects offer more impact than a new floor. Still, for many homeowners, solid planking can be expensive, sometimes frustrating and requires tools that you may not have. In years past, click-lock floating floors were generally disappointing. Their poor quality finish and lack of sturdiness generally ended in a less than pleasing project. Thankfully, those days are gone! In addition to offering a resilient, well patterned finish, this product is waterproof, so no more delaminating due to a random spill, or pet accident. The joinery is accurately milled, better ensuring easy installation. Make sure your first and second courses are properly aligned and the rest couldn't be simpler. Lastly, the planks arrive backed in underlayment, saving both money and an extra step in installation. In my case, I used it in an upstairs suite and wanted to minimize sound transmission to the downstairs, so I added an extra layer of underlayment. This is a truly great product and one that I will recommend to friends and customers alike.

We are converting a high-end shed into an occupied space. For the floors, we decided on using Pergo Outlast Waterproof Flooring, the Applewood 5-in-1 Laminate Molding, and matching quarter rounds. The 5-in-1 Molding makes a really nice addition to any flooring project. It took some time studying the instructions, however, but there are lots of illustrations on how to use the product. The Applewood 5-in-1 Laminate Molding is great for transitioning between different floor colors and floors with different heights, It’s also great for use at a door jam and end caps. I highly recommended using Pergo Outlast Waterproof Flooring, 5-in-1 Laminate Molding and the matching Quarter Rounds for any flooring project.

We are in process of a major flooring upgrade project and chose the Pergo Outlast Waterproof Flooring, after researching several alternatives. We also discovered the Auburn Scraped Oak 5-in-1 Laminate Molding, and it's a really nice addition to any flooring project. It took a little time to figure out all of the uses of the molding, but the Instructions are helpful with lots of illustrations on how to use the product. I especially like the ability of the 5-in-1 Laminate Molding to transition between different flooring, and floors with different heights. We also used the matching quarter round pieces to cover gaps at the baseboards. Highly recommended using Pergo Outlast Waterproof Flooring, 5-in-1 Laminate Molding and the matching Quarter Round for your next flooring project.

I am in the middle of doing four different rooms of colors.This is the first one that I started, and I'm not finished yet. I did let the flooring sit in the various rooms to acclimate for a week or so like they recommend. You don't use any glue or nails as this just locks in place. You also get the 5 in 1 laminate molding that has a threshold that locks into a plastic sleeve that does get screwed down to the floor and then just snap in the threshold. Which was not very easy for me, in any of the rooms that I started. The base molding is a quarter round and looks good and does match the flooring. The quarter round measures a little over a half in high at 0.62 thick and 3/4'' wide and comes in a 94.5'' length. The flooring measures 10mm thick by 5.23'' wide and they come in almost 4 feet lengths at 47.24''. This Pergo is called Outlast+ and is waterproof flooring and hope it works cause I'm putting this in my work shop outback which is climate controlled. I really do like the look of this it's just great.The fortified wood plank with SurfaceDefense protection offers strength and stability with superior dent, scratch and stain resistance. Exclusive SpillProtect technology keeps liquids on the waterproof surface preventing spills from getting through and underneath. This flooring does come with an attached underlayment on it so no need to buy an install one first. Just make sure your floor is level when you start. It says it can be installed above grade, on grade or below grade. The threshold measures a half inch thick almost 2 inches wide and they come in 84 inches long pieces. I will post some pics but I an not finished as I started several rooms. But again I just love the look and the colors of the wood look great. It also feels very comfortable under foot, it makes for a very soft and giving floor. I definitely recommend to others. Keep in mind there is a lot of work to do here but it's worth it in the end.After I started to put down the Applewood I thought about combining it with the Paradise Jatoba I got and it looked stunning. So I decided to do a room of the two in a sort of pattern but not an obvious pattern. We really like the way it looks.

It was raining a lttle here yesterday and I had the door open installing the threshold and I could see the water hitting the flooring and just beading up on the surface so it looks like the spill protection does work already. It says it can be installed above grade, on grade or below grade. The threshold measures a half inch thick almost 2 inches wide and they come in 84 inches long pieces. Once again Pergo Breaks the mold.. Their new "PERGO AUBURN SCRAPED OAK 0.51 IN. T X 1.87 IN. W X 84.6 IN. L LAMINATE 5-IN-1 MOLDING, MEDIUM" eliminates the need to get a specific type of molding for your transition. This one does the job of five! simply cut to length then trim out for your application. This is really going to be great for the trades reducing how many different types & colors need to be carried.. very impressed with this innovation. This comes with a track to hold the molding.
