new app that forces login and sharing of info
Very cool lightbulb, that I can change white hue and brightness dynamically with my phone! I don’t have a smart hub but that is now in my plans. This light is controllable from the app on my iPhone, it quickly paired over Bluetooth and I can change it to any white hue easily. I currently have this installed in my music room and adjust the hue for mood lighting. I’ve been using it for over a week now and I’ve had no issues connecting to it on demand and changing the hue. Unfortunately, after not adjusting the lights for a while I attempted to use the app and discovered that the original app has been replaced with a new app that forces an online login and sharing of info. So I can no longer control this light.

Great Bulb with great features
I have these in multiple rooms, have moved lights around, and made multiple changes to the way I grouped these in the app. All of mine have worked flawlessly. We use the Echo Dot throughout our home and the lights are simple to control via Alexa as long as you use the correct name (remember a table lamp and a table light are different to Alexa). So what can you do with the Hue lights? Turn lights on/off remotely from your phone. Set colors to accent a room (great for football games using team colors). Set lights to come on when your return home so you don't have a dark house - I have mine turn when my phone shows I'm about a mile away and limit to turn on only after sunset. Just purchased a $2 app that had a fireworks program and changes the lights to your music. Adjust the colors, shades of white, and brightness from the app or through Alexa. My suggestion is to pick an area yo want to try and get a starter kit with a couple of lights. If you are like me, you will quickly come up with new ideas to add more lights to other rooms.

Great light!
What a cool lightbulb, who knew that I could change colors dynamically with my phone! I don’t have a smart hub yet to be able to attach this to, but that is now in my plans. So maybe I’m a late adopter, but I have not implemented smart home technology so this is my first test into starting to utilize smart bulbs to change colors on demand. This light is really slick I downloaded the app to my iPhone, quickly paired over Bluetooth and I can change it to any color I can imagine. I currently have this installed at the end of one of our kitchen counters which is an area that we typically decorate for holidays so this is going to come in handy to be able to change the color as needed to match the mood of the day. I’ve been using it for over a week now and I’ve had no issues connecting to it on demand and changing the color, really nice light.

Great Light with Colors
This screws in like any light bulb but gives you a lot more. You can set colors and create ambiance in the room. It can be controlled by Alexa or Hey Google. It is Bluetooth compatible so you can use the app on your phone to make changes to the color in the room. There is a Phillips bridge that you can get to control the light bulb from a remote location.

Nice features
The Hue compatible light bulb provides ample lighting with customizable lighting choices. It is important to note that the Hue hub is needed to be able to utilize all of the features of the light bulb. This bulb is compatible with standard sized table lamps allowing customers to easily swap a standard bulb with the Hue technology. The ability to dim is another great feature.

Great, Lightweight Bluetooth LED Bulb
I love LED smart bulbs. This is my first time using the Philips Hue brand. This is a 100 w equivalent bulb with an E26 base. I like that the bulb is lightweight because a lot of them are quite heavy. It also has a plastic top, which I prefer. I was trying to take a photo of the bulb when without trying the camera caused the QR set up feature to activate. The QR code is on the bulb. I didn't set it up this way but that was an easy way to begin. I used the google home app and it found the bulb right away. After that it was just a matter of confirming my network then naming the bulb. Took less than two minutes. In the google home app you're limited to a select few colors versus a color wheel, which I prefer. I didn't want to download an app due to phone memory but I'm sure I will eventually to take advantage of the app and it's features such as brightness, dimming, color variations and schedules. Great bulb and bright, vibrant colors. Even the whites are very bright. Works with bluetooth, zigbee, alexa, hey google, google play and google home apps. You can add the Philips Hue bridge for multiroom and away from home control. You can also control with voice. Pricey.

Really cool light
I needed a good bright light to put over my sink in the kitchen and this Phillips 100w did the trick. I wanted a smart light so that I could dim it while I'm in my living room watching TV. As it happens my T.V. is in direct line with the kitchen.... So this has worked out great and the app that is available on google play is free and easy to setup and allows you to adjust the light tempature as well as the brightness.

Great Light amazing tech.
Lights can be a hit or miss when shopping for a light for the home. Phillips fixes a lot of those problems with the Hue bulb. it is easy to setup and will give you plenty of light. You will need a Hue bridge (sold separately) for this light to work properly. Without the bridge it works as a regular light. with the bridge you open up a whole world of colors and dimming possibility's for a room to match you decor. The Hue app works on your phone and gives you freedom to experiment on all the options this smart light has. It is easy to setup and fun to use, Just remember to get the bridge and your good to go.

So Bright
I am very pleased that Phillips came out with a brighter hue bulb which makes this one perfect for reading. This is the equivalent of a 100 Watt bulb and it’s noticeably brighter. Hue bulbs are my favorite bulbs to use because I control my lights from anywhere. Simply pair it to your Alexa app and you can control the light through your voice command or from the app. Having a dimmable feature is also an added bonus because you can control how bright or dim you would like the light to be. This is my first A21 bulb where all my others are A19. The A21 is a larger bulb (taller and wider) and therefore has a higher output. It can also result in a higher electric bill but I don’t think one lightbulb will make that much of a difference. I prefer the color of the White Ambiance bulb over the standard Soft White which has a “yellowish” tint. With Hue bulbs, I can’t see buying any other type of lightbulb anymore.

These are the best
When it comes to smart lighting, I believe Phillips Hue stands on top of the mountain. I’ve tried other brands, so I understand the differences, however I’m fully committed to a Hue home. When everything is assessed these bulbs and product line simply stand out amongst the competition. This 100W equivalent/1600 Lumen bulb is no different. I’ve found it to meet all my expectations. My observations: • This is your standard E26 bulb base which is primarily used in North America. • This bulb is bigger than the 1100 lumen and 800 lumen Phillips Hue bulbs. Keep that in mind when choosing the lamp etc. this will be used on. I took a pic so you can see the differences between the three. The 1600 lumens are noticeably brighter than the 1100 and 800 lumen options. It really does look great and will brighten up your space. • The colors are bright and intense. I really appreciate the red, blue, and green. All three primary colors look accurate. • These bulbs run cold and make no noise/hum at all. This is excellent. • This bulb has Bluetooth, so you really don’t need a bridge to operate it if you just want to operate up to 10 bulbs. However, I highly recommend buying the Hue bridge. This unlocks all the best parts of these bulbs and really opens your smart home. The scenes, routines, ‘away from home’ control, etc. are fun and convenient to use. You don’t want to miss out on all of that. • These bulbs are easy to use and intuitive. They work with all the major smart home platforms. I use Apple HomeKit and the set up literally takes seconds with seamless integration into HomeKit. • I’ve had Hue bulbs since the 1st generation, and I have thousands of hours on my bulbs. I’ve never had a bulb burn out or any issues (that were not caused by me) at all. These are high quality and I appreciate that. • Adjusting colors/dimming/etc. (depending on your set up) with your voice, your phone, etc. is so easy and again fun. The way you can create an ambiance in your home is breathtaking. I can create an atmosphere of excitement, relaxation, game time, morning, evening, tv time, etc. So much to unlock. • The Hue app is also easy to use and manipulate your rooms, bulbs, colors, etc. All the controls you want are pretty much inside of this app. I highly recommend. This is a fantastic bulb, and the entire Hue family of products is a huge selling point. I also see regular updates on my bulbs and the app.

Perfect light for a smart home!
The Phillips Hue is a very good LED light. Soft white in color that accents a cosy home. Now turn that ordinary light into a smart light and you can control it via Alexa or Google without any additional equipment via Bluetooth from you phone. Control multiple lights to set the mood in the TV room or the bedroom. And using on 16 watts, this light will last while sipping power.

Cool lighting but a pain initially
Don’t bother trying to read included directions because you can’t. You’ll need a magnifying glass to read instructions and to tell you the truth I really can’t say if they were there. I took a picture of them with my phone and enlarged. I finally just downloaded the app which I had to figure out where to go for the location of the app. The whole process was very frustrating. Yes, the quick startup shows you just screw in the bulb. On the plus side, once you have the app, you can change the lighting/ambiance of the bulb which is cool and the app is somewhat intuitive. I was disappointed in the timer which only allows you to set it up for an on and off of up to 30 minutes. You can’t use it for say for on at 5PM to 11:30pm. I guess you may need the Hue Bridge to do that. Using it with the Alexa dot, studio, etc. is the way to go that was an easy setup. Definitely use voice commands.

Energy Savings, Control Options
Continuing my transition to LED energy saving light bulbs, I added this Phillips Smart Wireless bulb in my office area. It has the white light and the color option all controlled by the app on my smart phone. Great flexibility for control of the bulb, brightness, color, time on/off, etc. Combined with the required Hue Bridge, which connects to your home network, makes set up and control easy.

I have been using Phillips Hue since their first version and this updated product with bluetooth is really awesome. It doesn't require buying the Hue Bridge, which means you can buy a few for a lower up front cost - but it still works if you already have a bridge. Setting up new bulbs from the app is a breeze, they really have that part figured out (you just plug it in, go to settings and search for new bulbs and voila!). Also the color and temperature of the while light is very nice, and the dim settings have a very wide range.

I am well informed with Philips Hue products. My home is filled with them and I love how easily they integrate with my smart home’s ecosystem. I use Apple Home (HomeKit) as our platform of choice and this bulb easily fits right into the ‘family’. My observations: • Let me start with saying that I have the Hue Bridge. However, if you are just breaking into this product line and using these Hue bulbs/lights you can add up to 10 lights just using the Bluetooth app before you even need a Bridge. With that said, if you want even more control and options I highly recommend you buy a Hue bridge. They are relatively inexpensive and it opens up an entire new word of Hue benefits and will allow you to build your smart home around their product line. • This is a 17 watt LED (100 watt equivalent) bulb and extremely bright (or dim) if you want it to be. I like the versatility of these lights and the full control of dimming and setting the mood for the room. • Something I like about these bulbs is how they are cool to the touch even when on at full brightness. Because the stay cool they don’t create extra heat in your house, which is very important in the summer time. Something else I like is they are quiet. No hum and no noise comes out of these bulbs. They are super quiet. • The product line is well supported and versatile to cover your needs. You can add Hue switches, motion sensors, lightstrips, and really way more than I mention in this review. • Set up of bulb(s) is about as easy (and fun) as it gets. Once you pull down the app, you will be enjoying these quickly. I’ll admit that I’m a huge fan of Philips Hue. I’ve had their products for around 3 years and truly love how they have improved the ambiance and conveniences of our home. I’ve also never had even one issue with any of their products which is saying a lot. I recommend this Hue bulb and once you get into the Hue product line I’m confident it will lead to you to buying others Hue lights and accessories.

Decided to try this bulb before spending money on the fancy color changing ones that are more expensive. This one is simpler. Setting it up took some time as the instructions are not very clear or easy to follow. Once I found and downloaded the correct app, things went okay. The bulb is great, easy to control with my phone: on and off, dims or brightens. Nice warm light. Then I needed to connect it to my Google Hub in order to control with my voice; once again took a long time but ultimately, once done, I am very happy. The product itself is great; instructions and setup, less so.

The Hue ecosystem is one of the very best systems, with good quality and a documented interface to the system. In addition to this bulb working with the Hue hub, it can now also be controlled via BlueTooth without a hub, or it can be controlled by the separately sold portable switch. So you now have three ways to control the light. It is very bright putting out 1600 lumens of soft white light (2700 Kelvin), using just 17 Watts. E26 base means it screws into the standard light bulb socket. It is longish at just over 5 inches. It was found by my hub without an issue and once registered, I was able to control it using the Google assistant and my own software that communicates with the hub. One can set the brightness and turn it on and off without any issues. The instructions are pictorial and very clear, so they should work no matter what language you speak. Good globalization. Installation is of course very simple, and amounts to screening the bulb in places, giving it power and then a once-off registration step which varies with your choice of control. Assembled in China

The Philips hue Bluetooth bulbs are super easy to set up. They come with a pictorial set of instructions that guide you through configuring your bulb to work directly with your smartphone via the hue bluetooth app, or via a hue Bridge and the hue app, or with an accessory such as a wall switch. The hue BT bulbs can be connected to and controlled from all three options simultaneously. I was able to follow the pictorial instructions and get the bulb working with the BT app in a matter of minutes. I already had a bridge network set up so it was equally easy to add the bulb to an existing room and create a scene so it could be controlled from a wall switch. This is the first 100 watt equivalent hue bulb that I've used and it will work perfectly next to the table in the family room for playing board games or assembling puzzles. The soft white light is just the right tone. Hue bulbs might cost a little more, but they also work. It's worth the extra few dollars to avoid the hassles of fighting with incompatibilities.

My home is already part of the Philips hue light ecosystem. The addition of the A21 100W equivalent is the perfect addition. I placed it on the ceiling of the small hallway to my guest suite. At its brightest the hallway is well lit. I have it set to a relaxing dim light at night. I have the bulb connected to my base, but having Bluetooth capability is a nice option. The bulb is very lightweight and very easy to install.

The hue bulb was easy to set up out of the box. Just took it out and screwed it in. Following the instructions, we were able to add this to the alex a app very easily. The bulb is soft white only but dimmable, so we are able to lower it using our voice or the app for TV or movie viewing and ambiance, or can turn it up all the way for reading, etc. The bulb itself is plastic so no worries if it takes a little drop, but once we hooked it up, it isn't going anywhere.

This Philips Hue white LED 100W equivalent dimmable bulb was easy to set up using the HUE App. The app was simple to install and pairing the bulb was quick and easy. Using Alexa was also a breeze. Alexa found the bulb right away and provided similar functions for the bulb as the HUE app. That being said, I was disappointed the bulb has limited functionality. You can set up routines such as automatically dimming the bulb after so many hours or brightening the bulb over time. However, the one function I was looking for this bulb to do was to be able to turn on or off at a set time of day. This bulb does not do that. It runs the routines you set up when you turn on the light switch. I recommend the light for those that may want to set up routines, but do not need the bulb to turn on/off based on setting up a timer in the bulb.

Did not like the color (of the light produced). It was pretty yellow, and I wanted something white.
