I am extremely happy with these doors. I was hesitant to order without being able to see the color and the quality of the product first, but I am not disappointed. The color is kind of a dark brown which is what I wanted and the doors are sturdy and fold back so nicely. They are not on a track like older fireplace screens I have seen before. When closed the doors come together nicely and tightly. It was easy to install. I did it by myself. The hardest part was dragging it in the house where UPS left it. I would definitely recommend this product for price, quality and looks!!!!! I ordered these the sunday after thanksgiving and they were delivered the following tuesday evening by UPS!!!!

Easy to install
This was very easy to install, good price and looks nice. It would have been nice, if this could be available in Golden color. Overall product is good. We liked it.

Super nice door
I talked to the vendor before I bought this door and they seem to think it would not fit, but it did. Two of the best things about this door, beside the looks, is that the doors fold open flush against the fireplace and it also has a screen. The screen doesn't fold but I will keep them closed anyway. Easy to install and all the clamps worked perfect.
Love the big wide open space when doors and screens are fully open. Makes for easy ligthing, adding logs, stoking, and cleaning. No annoying screen curtains or sliding glass or screen doors.

I'm very pleased with this choice
Our new antique bronze fireplace door is highly attractive and belies its economical price. Installation was not complicated and the instructions easy to follow. The door's silky satin surface really sets off the new stone surround. I find myself just staring at it...

Carrington Series Small Fireplace Glass Doors
4.9 Stars! A near perfect experience. The doors were packed against breakage amazingly well. Great lengths were taken by the manufacturer to protect the product -- lots of protective heavy-duty cardboard and many straps to keep the package tight. Packaging was commensurate to the quality of the product. All components received. Trivial assembly and the installation instructions did not overlook anything. Due to having a small fireplace opening, the extra width bar was not necessary to use, so fewer installation steps. Product was well-built and looks great. A major decorative update to the fireplace. I would have given a 5 rating if one of the small magnets that hold the doors shut was intact. Had to call the manufacturer and request a replacement. No hassles and the replacement part was a snap to install. Best part yet, is that the doors are manufactured in the U.S. and hence helps the economy!!!

Great Buy
41/2 stars. Great buy. If you shop around you find these units can easily go for $700 to $1500. The quality is good, and for the money I could buy two over the years and still be ahead. It installed quickly and functions well. I did have scratches on a handle and the mesh panels - strange because it was packaged well, indicating it was scratched before packaging. I had no trouble calling the company (unlike many other companies) and they readily agreed to ship me replacement parts. Buy it!

Fireplace Glass Door
I purchased and installed these doors, and I'm generally pleased. Construction is sturdy and they look good. The doors DO have an OPTIONAL 2" bottom bar (same bronze color as the rest of the frame). The bar can be left off, decreasing the outer height by 2". This was perfect for me because the doors only fit my fireplace when the bottom bar was left off. The bi-fold glass doors fold back flush to the frame, which is nice. The inner "single-fold" screen doows don't fold all the way back, but that's fine since you will only open them to add wood and will usually have them closed.
I had some trouble installing the doors. My lintel (metal bar inside across the top of your fireplace) is sloped rather than square, so the thumb screws (primary installation method) just slid off. (Can't fallt the doors for that.) I tried the alternate installation method: drill 2 holes in the lintel and screw the bracket directly to the lintel. Well, the "self-tapping" screws included didn't make a dent in my lintel and instead stripped themselves down to smooth pegs - no good for holding the door in place! (I do count that as a fault against the doors.) I worked around this by buying some expansion bolts, drilling a larger hole through the lintel and into the brick, and bolting the mounting bracket in place that way. A chore but it worked. Hopefully your lintel will be more "normal"; otherwise expect to improvise.
The lower thumb screws seemed to wobble a bit, allowing the bottom of the door to move about a quarter inch, but I worked around this by sliding the contact point inward until the screw was "pre-stressed" and couldn't wobble any more. The thumb screw pressure mounting doesn't seem to be the strongest bottom mounting (if I really tried, I'm sure I could pull the bottom loose), but the doors are definitely fine for normal use. The mounting system seems to be designed to be quick and easy (assuming you have a "normal" fireplace) rather than to stop an elephant, and I can live with that.
Over all, these are nice looking doors, sturdily build and reasonably mounted, and I'm glad I bought them.

Carrington Series Medium Fireplace Doors
Very reasonable price, took about 90 minutes to install, as I had to drill holes into top of fireplace to secure. Not a big deal if you can drill a hole into steel. Good quality and nice looking.

excellent quality
I purchased this unit to replace the one installed over twenty years ago. It was challenging to find brass construction and bi-fold doors in the same unit. This unit exceeded my expectations. The doors are well-crafted and work so beautifully that it seems like I have a new fireplace!

quick to ship
We recieved the fireplace door in less than a week from ordering and it was easy to install. We did purchase additional screws to secure it to the fireplace wall but it may have been because we did the mason work ourselves and it may not have been standard dimensions

Carrington Fireplace Doors
We are very impressed with these doors ! Very easy to install - took about 15 minutes with no tools. Construction
is very solid and seems well made. We have a small issue
with one of the magnet rings on the screen door but think we can find a replacement easily. Color - Antigue Brass-
is great - not glossy and has a nice appearance.
We would highly recommend this door for anyone looking for a lower price alternative from the specialty store where they cost anywhere from $600.00 - $1200.00
uninstalled.
