Easy to set up and to use. Works great.

Worked great after I figures out how to change from left to right handed hinges. Instructions are lacking. However the template worked great. Much bette than cutting fee hand. Well worth the price

I had one years ago but lost most of the parts. It worked great for larger base routers back then.

This is by far the best hinge template I’ve found and I’ve bought and tried several different ones-they all were returned-either too complicated-like the ones with 20-30 parts or too flimsy. This one is very simple to use and to adjust and has 5 parts including the 2 double headed nails. Excellent!

Sloppy fittings after routing. Corner chisel should come with it, as I can't remember ever seeing a hinge with that radius, at least not in Canada. Not impressed, but has some features that are better than the old one. Also the back doesn't stay true. Too flexible.

The gauge for a 1 3/8" door doesn't allow the router to get as close to the stop side of the door as a prehung door hinge does. Some adjustment of the hinges is necessary to keep the door from rubbing the stop. If you use the template on both the door and jamb, it will work fine.

the router bit is very soft. could not even finish one cut

This is the 3rd or 4th template that I've purchased over the last 20 plus years. I hope that Porter Cable never stops making them.

Almost impossible to use. Can't use it with a Dremel. Freehand works better

The jig works well made cutting the hinges easy. The router bit did not stand-up the cutting of the hinges. It dulled and burned.

I purchased this hinge template a number of years ago (at least 8 years, likely more), and during the time that has passed, I've replaced all of the doors in my house with 6-panel doors as well as helped neighbors do the same. In my own house, I've cut over 60 hinge pockets (and with helping neighbors, somewhere between 75 and 100), and I'm still on the original template AND router bit. Only recently has the router bit started to show signs of losing an edge -- likely a result of a number of hinge pockets I cut into oak. This template makes short work of cutting accurate hinge pockets repeatedly. This has exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend -- and would buy again in an instant.

Product works well and is well designed, wish the instructions were equally well conceived.

Makes cutting hinges a breeze. Read the directions carefully. Once set up for the size you need, the rest is a piece of cake. I would make recommend that you do not remove the nails provided (they hold the gig in place) with a claw hammer a pictured. They will bend. Just pull them with pliers.

Worked great, used wood screws to hold onto door instead of the nails provided. Those would be time consuming and cumbersome.

Template was basically good, it needed one more “set” of nail attachments slightly to the right of the existing 6 b holes.
