Wicked wobbly and not in any way secure

This was used to anchor a small deck (footings) and they worked great. Best in soft sandy soil.

This was a great item as an alternative for digging holes and pouring concrete. Very easy to install

Good heavy gauge metal. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is because (for a lack of better words) the screw that holds the extensions in place, (1) stripped at the head where you place a board and (1) broke as I was screwing it into the ground.

I needed these for 6x6 legs, I couldn't find them anywhere so ended up cutting off one side. Other than that they went in really well and so far so good.

Pilings were easy to install in soil without too many rocks. They turned in with a nice even torque, and I am confident they won't sink. HOWEVER, I was disappointed to learn that the tops just sit inside the tubes. There is zero uplift protection for high winds, so separate anchors have to be used. A manufacturing redesign should be done to change this.

Hi Everyone I live in Ottawa valley, For our building code here 48" is our frost line, My question is if I purchase 50" screw post. Do i need 24" extended post? I'm not sure if the come with in the package or you buy separately for extended post. Let me know ,spring just around the corner.

I could not use this product. I live in SE Michigan which is mostly clay. With the combination roots and the dry clay soil, I could not sink this auger style system, and returned the material without a problem.

Broke when trying to install. Really wanted it to work. I did a lot of research. Just didn’t trust it.

I am really happy with this product. Works well and saves time on my shed project That being said, this is not good for rocky ground. If your build site has lots of rocks underground you will be frustrated.

While this looks like it should work as designed, there is nothing to prevent a deck or gazebo from being lifted out in a strong wind (other than the weight of the structure). The threaded shaft that allows for adjustment up and down only rests loosely inside the main body tube. It is designed as a footing only, supporting weight. If a nut was welded to the top of the main shaft for the threaded rod to screw into, then it would be able to resist lifting for a substantial amount of up force (wind lift). If you only need a footing, then this should work well. If you need to secure a structure down to resist the up-force of wind, look someplace else.

Worked great, just as advertised. Went in fairly easily, in part because I managed to avoid hitting any rocks, thankfully. Towards the end on one pier I found it stopped driving into the ground and just spun. Had the wife stand on the end to get it to bite into the ground again and was able to finish. Overall, was very happy I went with these as opposed to messing around with an auger / sonotube / conc.

Difficult to place precisely if ground has gravel or underground roots

I built a board walk over a wet land I installed 80 with two extensions each. The problem I have, and i expected more from a Canadian company, is the cheep steel. More than 25% of the extension tops split open when taping them own per the instruction

These are great to use and have good flexibility with adjustments. Make sure you have an 8' 2x4 on hand to use to crank down the last couple feet, depending on the compaction of your soil.

To get rod to turn into ground is no way as easy as the video. Very different lint when we got them in I believe this would be a very good alternative

WORKS NICELY. I used a 7-foot long 2x4 for leverage while screwing it into place. The steel construction held up well -- no unwanted bending or breakage. Lots easier than digging a 40-inch deep hole and using concrete. Before installing, I pounded a 40-inch long steel rod in the desired location to act as a guide that prevents the Pylex from wandering sideways and keeps it aimed straight down.

Handy little things and beats digging a post hole. The support strength is amazing in the vertical direction, but horizontally there's a bit of a wobble so wouldn't use these for fence posts.

Great device for supporting a remote shed where concrete would be a challenge. Easier to install than I expected. Only reason I don't give a 5 is that there is nothing but gravity that keeps the head from lifting out of the tube. I would have liked a locking mechanism better for greater wind security.

Used for supporting deer stands in marsh. Worked great except needed the 24" extensions that pylex makes for them. Home Depot sells them in Canada but not in the US. Luckily had a friend in Thunder Bay pick them up for me in store and then ship them. Wish they carried them here.

I'm using this product as the foundation if my tiny house!
