Not made well
Bought two packages of these bags for a total of four bags. Used them in my Rigid 14 Gallon HEPA shop vac connected to a concrete floor grinder for dust control which I have done before. Three of the four bags separted at the seam after little use. Less than 1/4 of the bags capacity was collected when the blow-out ocurred. After the second one, I even tried reinforcing the seam that was separating with tape on the third bag. This worked well on that seam but it just blew the other seam. Not sure what changed but the material that these are made of does not seem to be as durable as bags I purchased in the past. I definately won't buy this one again as I do not want to have to clean up the mess the blow out makes inside the shop vac.

    Bags suck blow out
The ends of the bag blow out after 15 min of vacuum use. Blower has fine dust filter. Garbage quality. I stapled the ends with paper stapler, this makes them last about an hour or 1/3 of bag size then the bag blows out at the corners, clogging the blower filter. Then suction is useless. Rigid you need to add real life testing, or we have a quality issue. I used 6 bags within 4 hours of trying to clean up, that's a lot of wasted money at $13 per bag. Hardly any dust in the bag and they burst

      No more sawdust!
We recently cleaned out the garage and found sawdust everywhere. I figured it was time to get a vacuum that connects to my saws because sweeping up afterwords was not cutting it. It takes a minute to set it up, but so much nicer. Plus it can do other things like be ready for a water spill.

      Prefilter helps
To help make these filters easier to clean and last longer I used two dollar The Frost King 15 X 24 air conditioner filter to make a sleeve that slides over the vacuum filter. One A/C filter makes two slip covers, which are CA or rubber cemented at the seam and can be washed and dried as needed. My first set up lasted ten years. I own three Ridgid shop vacs, so filter could get expensive.

        New Ridgid filter falling apart.
Attached are pix of my Ridgid vac filters. The one that looks used, but fine is 22 yrs old and came with my Vac. The 2 pix of a squished one is a brand new filter I bought to to use when the old one was drying from being hosed down. I hosed off the new filter 1 time. This is what it now looks like after 1 cleaning. This is junk. What's wrong?

This filter is amazing. It does everything it says, Cleans easily just with water due to its nonstick surface please filter. Has a nice durable rubber material. Filter is an all in One which is awesome a lot better than the paper filters. I had bought four for all my Ridgid wet Dry vacuums. It fits my older first generation ridgid WD16300 from 2001.

Great filter replacement, easy to install
Wet dry vac filters are a maintenance item that can be easy to neglect as they are out of sight but important to the long term performance of your vacuum. I had gone a little too long before replacing mine and picked up the one. Installation is as easy as opening the vacuum, pulling down the wings on the old filter to remove it, and pushing the new one on. I used it to vacuum drywall and tile dust and debris that had fallen into my crawl space from a remodel above and the filter performance was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this and be buying in the future for my vacuum.

                  HEPA replacement
I have an old 6-gallon Ridgid vacuum, and this filter is a perfect replacement. This filter is HEPA-rated, and there is a metal grid on the inside for support. One of my photos shows the difference between HEPA and non-HEPA. Detailed instructions are provided with the filter. A bit of overkill for installing and removing a vacuum filter. However, the instructions do provide information on cleaning the filter. This filter can be washed which will increase the life of the filter.

                  A good quality filter
This filter is a well constructed filter. The frame work of the filter is a pliable rubber allowing it to seal well to the vacuum unit with no leaks. The filter material appears to be a good quality material with many pleats. The inside of the filter is supported with a wire mesh. The outside pleats are open for easy cleaning. The filter comes with instructions for installing on different Ridged vacuums. Using the vacuum with this filter shows no sign of reduction of vacuum force caused by a restriction of air flow. The filter does a good job of collection fine dust.

RIDGID HEPA filter # VF 8000 for shop vacs 5-16 gallon
This RIDGID VF8000 HEPA filter is a perfect fit for my 9 gallon RIDGID wet/dry shop vacuum. Made much better than my old filter, It's a snug fit and will fit 5 gallon to 16 gallon RIDGID shop vacs. Locks in place and is a very snug fit to catch all the debris you are vacuuming up. This filter is 8.75 in high x 6.75 O.D. in diameter. This filter has a wire mesh on the inside to keep the filter from collapsing like my old filter did. This filter is washable and can pick up water, saw dust, pollens, dust mites, mold, cold ashes, fine powder, pet dander, drywall dust and many more things that this filter will catch. Filter can be removed when picking up liquids. This is NOT a paper filter, it's like plastic fins on the outside which makes it washable. ( my photos show the old and newer filter ) When washing out you can soak it in a container with some dish detergent for an hour or 2 then take out and hose it off and let fully dry before using it again, DO NOT use compressed air to blow off the filter, high pressure of air can damage the filter. Once again a great upgrade from the older filters that come with shop vacs from the manufacturer. Well made with silicone gaskets instead of the old rubber seals from the older filters. Great filter, pick one up for your RIDGID shop vac !

                  A better filter
I like this RIDGID vacuum filter. I have an older 5 gallon vacuum that needed a new filter. The HEPA filter is the one I selected. Compared to my old filter these are a heavier construction. The plastic molding is thicker. Inside is a plastic netting reinforcement that will prevent a clogged filter from collapsing. Also, I think this one will get more of the fine dust I tend to produce. This one is cleaned by tapping and can be washed in soapy water. I’ll try that soon.

This filter has no flaws well made and fits tight
I use my Ridgid vacuum all the time and the filter really does help to keep the dust down as well as protect the motor. I have a 12 Gal vac. That has a lable for VF7000 filters but this VF8000 fits also. After installing the new filter I can hear the vacuum running smother and not working as hard to suck up dirt and dust. My old filter was clogged up from vacuuming up Concrete dust when I resurfaced my Floor and used it to keep dust from filling up the house. I had a bag installed as well but the filter trapped all the fine particales. Bags alone do not stop all the dust from returning back into the air in the room a good filter is a must have. If you ever sanded drywall or grinded concrete you know the amount of dust it makes and it goes everywere in the house. A good Vacuum with a good filter is a must or you will spand days cleaning up the mess. My old filter was over a year old and I could of cleaned it one more time maybe but I beleive its time to replace before the fins just give out. When something works this good you stick with it. This filter has no flaw well made and does its job, fits tight and seals great.

                  Far better than the Original
This filter (VF8000) is much stronger, better made than the Rigid paper filter that ships with most wet/dry vacs. The inside is reinforced with an internal mesh core. The outer paper feels much stronger, and it's washable (for a wet dry vac this seems so obvious, but the original (VF4000) is not rated for wet debris, I didn't know that. The top is a thicker rubber/silicon and the bottom has substance and is sealed against the filter wall, versus the paper filter whose bottom is very thin. Installation was very easy, pull off the old, dirty filter, and replace it with this new clean cartridge filter. Be sure to press down the center till it clicks in place, you see the plastic "V" holed jump into the center holding the filter in tightly. T This is a true HEPA filter filtering out much more than the standard filter. As soon as you replace the original filter with this filter you will hear a difference in the sound the wet/dry vac makes. This is a real upgrade, it will also last much longer than the original paper filter.

                  Hepa filter for fine particles
My review of the Ridgid HEPA Wet/Dry Vac Replacement Cartridge Filter for Most 5 Gallon and Larger RIDGID Shop Vacuums. Typically I buy the normal ridgid shop vacuum filters. This time I decided to give the new HEPA filter a in the vacuum I use in my vacuum in the woodshop. Upon first glance the Hepa filter is built better . It has an integral metal grill. Visibly thicker, the seals are bigger and the filter weighs more. Installs like a normal filter my uses a nut but it has quicklock technology for vacuums that have feature. Once installed you could tell the difference the air in shop seemed much cleaner. The filter is also reusable . So the extra cost is not that bad. I just got it so we will see how it works out long term

Excellent reusable Wet/Dry replacement filter for my RIDGID 5 gallon Shop Vac
Great filter, but a little pricier than the standard Black one. It is however well worth the cost since you can wash and reuse. I tend to use the Black standard filters longer than recommended but I have found that if I take the time to clean the pleats (no water), it extends the life span. The one thing that can derail my process is if the standard filter gets wet as it becomes stiff, pleats stick together, harder to clean and clogs easily as the pleats are a kind of cardboard like material. The pleats on this Orange filter seem to be a synthetic like material that should maintain their natural shape and clean easily. I also like the mesh internals to provide a stiffer consistent shape. I can now use my RIDGID vacuum without concern of slightly wet areas and more importantly to remove excess water as needed in slightly flooded situations.

Perfect fit for my Ridgid shop vac.
This new HEPA filter fits my Ridgid shop vac without issues. It's a very snug fit (like you'd expect a filter to be). There's an included instruction sheet on how to install/remove the filter from the vacuum. The manufacturer calls it a "Qwik Lock" system. Once installed it leaves no gaps for air to get around the filter. Fit and finish is excellent. The listed dimensions are: H 8.75 in, W 6.75 in, D 6.75 in. See photos below. The filter is of better construction than the OEM filter that came with the vac - see photo below. It's washable and reusable and, of course, can be removed when vacuuming up liquids and reinstalled for dry materials. In vacuuming up some sawdust from my basement shop floor there were no discernable "dust trails" or such coming out of the vacuum's exhaust - the filter appeared to catch everything being thrown at it. It should be noted that, when used in conjunction with a Ridgid shop vac, there is no guarantee that the filter will provide HEPA level filtration (I suppose that's because the manufacturer can't be certain that your vac doesn't have a leak of some sort). I generally wear a mask when cleaning up the shop; if you're sensitive to allergens and such you might want to do the same and not rely on the filter alone. There are other models of this filter for filtering out finer particles but, for my DIY home shop purposes, this filter does the job. It works as advertised (for me, YMMV) and is washable and reusable, and fits my Ridgid vac. Home Depot offers a 90 day return policy on the filter (see their website for details on that).

Be careful - the latches/handles snap off!
I purchased the 10-gallon stainless WD1060 vacuum. I was handing the vacuum down from an attic opening with my friend below. The vacuum had bacteria (Zoogloea) laden water inside as I have just sucked out an air conditioner drain line that was completely clogged. As I was lowering the vacuum down through the attic hatch, with my friend holding the vacuum from below, the plastic latch/ handles gave out and the drum crashed down onto the stepladder, tilted over, splashed the contents (which is fairly disgusting) all over my friend and then down onto the hallway carpet. Quite the disgusting mess and my friend drenched.... Looking at the design of the handles, it is VERY easy for the handles to pop off of the very small round plastic pins when there is some weight in the drum. The handles do not lock in on the pins (they slip on) and look like they are designed more for easy assembly at the factory than ensuring something like what happened to us doesn't ever happen. I probably had two gallons of water in the vacuum, so not that heavy, but not that light either. Very disappointing design. I modified the handles by drilling a pilot hole into the round pins and adding a washer and screw to lock in the latches. After adding the screws I filled the drum with water up to the vacuum hole and I could lift the vacuum by the handle securely. The latch/handle is OK being plastic, but the other parts should be metal. I have added pictures of how I added the screws. I used 3 drill bits to make the hole to make sure I didn't split the plastic.

Go with the OEM part for Ridgid vacuum filters!
I purchased some off brand filters that were spec'd to fit my old WD06701 6 Gallon Wet/Dry Vac. Yes, the off-brand was less costly but the filter media did not appear as robust as the VF5200 filters. The off-brands also did not fit as well even with some universal adapters. I was very impressed with its construction quality and overall fit. I feel that the $7.00 premium price over a generic was well worth the expense. I also decided to use a pool filter mesh cover to see how it keep larger particles from imbedding in the filter.

                      Powerful and versatile
I have another corded Ridgid vac. However, I wanted something to take with me on jobs or outside the home where I would not need to reply on a power cord. I specifically use this cordless vac when I do wood working. I built a nice little rolling cart to hold this vacuum and a dust separate thing. See photos. I can hook up the vac to any of my powertools that create sawdust and the cordless vac is very powerful and strong enough to elimate all dust. The separator I use in conjunction with the vac, traps all the sawdust into a container so it never even makes it into the vacuum. I also installed the Ridgid HIPA filter and the little noise compressor thing from the exhaust of the vacuum. nNotice in the pic I used the Ridgid black and orange colors on the wood cart and even spray painted the metal on the wheels with the orange color.

                            No inlet into bag
There was a manufacturing defect with the VF3502 bags I purchased. The was no actual hole into the bag behind the cardboard collar or if there were perforations they were too strong to allow the first bag layer to open when the collar was pressed onto the inlet tube inside the vacuum drum - pressing any harder would have torn the cardboard collar off the expensive bag. I ended up using scissors to cut the necessary hole into the bag.
