Our vacuum usually didn't include the wet foam filter. out of the box the vacuum can be used to pick up water or liquid. If you are picking up high amount of pure liquid you just need to remove the cartridge filter of the vacuum and you may now start picking up water or liquid material. The wet foam filter is need in case solid debris are present in or on the water or liquid you are picking up. The wet foam filter is the one that stops those solid debris that may enter the impeller fan of the vacuum.
