Thanks for writing a review and we're sincerely sorry to have learned about your disappointment. It's true that this vac doesn't come with a wet filter because the machine will function well for wet pickups even without it. As stated in the supplied user's manual, you can use the original pleated paper filter when picking up small amounts of liquid (less than 2” (5 cm) collected in Dust Drum). For large amounts, simply remove the paper filter to avoid water misting. For those who frequently use the vac for wet pickups, we recommend getting the VF3700 wet foam filter. The VF3700 is available at your local Home Depot stores or online at https://www.homedepot.com/.

Moreover, we would like to emphasize the importance of not leaving the vacuum running while unattended for safety reasons.
