It doesn't fit neither of the gas nor the water switches. And it broke easily.

Just buy an 8inch crescent wrench
I tried it out as soon as i got it. It’s small-end rocks and slides off small valves. With big valves, the thin metal digs into your palms. Just buy an inexpensive crescent wrench and you’ll be ready for a speedy gas shutoff

Too long and does not fit my outside gas meter.
My house was built a few years ago and so you would think this would fit. Too small on one side and too big on the other side. Will not turn off my gas no matter how I try and use it.

I had to return, the main design flaw is that its too long, it needs to be half the size, the gas meter obstruction between the shut off valve and the ground, in other words, it would be perfect if it were half the size, its too long for many meters.

Handle is too short to apply torque to open/close gas valve. The handle edges are sharp and may injure the hand. Suggest longer, rounded handles. I returned the wrench and bought a large crescent wrench which a use with a short piece of three-inch pipe to help me apply torque to the gas valve.

The large slotted end looked as though it would fit my gas meter, but it was a little too small in both directions. I had to laboriously file the opening larger by a significant amount so it would fit properly, especially if it had to be applied quickly.

Do not buy this product. Neither of the wrenches fit a standard size gas line shut off valve. They are both too small. We purchased three of these items as stocking stuffers for Christmas, and they are all going to be returned.

It works
It's a thick piece of metal with two slots cut in it. The fit isn't perfect but who cares? Once you fit the slot over the valve head, the wrench won't slip off or bend. Those are the only things that really matter to me . . . those and the fact that it costs less than $5.00.

Cheap cost, cheap wrench, but perfect for its job
Other's write the wrench did not fit in their area, I find that ..... interesting.
I am in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and I put these onto my rental homes here. Hey, it's a cheap emergency gas valve wrench, not a precision tool. Who or why would anyone care if it's lose, you want it to work once, just once, in the middle of a snow storm and in the dark without a flashlight, right? So, you want it to be lose.
It works, it's cheap, made of steel, and arrives at your store fast. What more could you ask for? Buy it, try it for fit, then try to turn your valve just a little to make sure your valve is not stuck (lots of them are, then call the gas co.) After that, cable-tie it, wire it, chain it whatever, but just leave it and forget it.
Dimensions: 10" long x 1-1/2" wide. Two holes: one, 3/4" x 1-3/8", and the other, 1/2" x 1-3/8"

Won't work for gas meters in Southern California
At $4 and change, the price of ignorance did not come high... but this affordable wrench will not work for gas meters in Southern California. Both openings are too big, which means you don't get good purchase on the valve and poor leverage. Best bet still seems to be the old crescent wrench.

gas valve size not uniform
I have read several reviews giving POOR reviews on this product, when in fact it's the gas companies inconsistency in using a set size on the shut off valves.
The wrench is designed for a 1/2" and 3/4" shut off valve. 1/2" commonly used for home gas meters and 3/4" for commercial gas meters, but I have come across many home gas meters with 5/8" shut off valves, I am sure this is why some people are saying the wrench won't fit.
My recommendation is DO YOUR HOMEWORK before you buy.
These wrench's work great for what they are designed for and are a great price...everyone should have one attached to their meter.
My only suggestion for the manufacture of the wrench's is to make them 1/2" & 5/8" and forget the 3/4" size.

Good wrench for the price
The wrench doesn't fit fantastically, which is a bit of a bummer, but we've tied it to our gas valve on the house in case of an emergency.
At least it's sturdy. And it has two different wrench sizes to fit most gas valves.

Cheaply made, did not fit
Like another reviewer, for me, this wrench simply did not fit over the valve. Unlike the other reviewer, I chose not to fix the wrench, but to look for a better-made product instead.
I checked it against my neighbor's valves and it didn't fit those either.
This product is meant for emergency use so it should not have to be modified before it can be used and it doesn't even deserve a 2-star (fair) rating.

Didn't fit over the valve properly
The width was right for the valves I needed it for but the length is too short and I had to file it to make it work.
