I just installed one of these to replace my Honeywell R8184G 4009, which it will replace and it works great. Was also cheaper than the simple electro-mechanical old one. Its universal so it will work with any cad cell setup. My only complaint was the directions that didnt give clear instructions for my particular setup. One noteworthy thing is that the limit connection must be connected to Line 1 on a direct thermostat setup like mine. The only other issue I had was that in the installer setup the setting for using "TT" seems to be reversed, no means yes and yes means no, so basically if you enable using the TT terminals it will run forever until it triggers thermal protection, but if you dont it works fine and listens to the thermostat. Someone should fix that or clarify it in the manual, the definitions of some of the settings are pretty lacking. A simple, this does this, and that does that, this connection is for this.... that type of thing would be great for more amateur installers and would probably help more than a few professionals. Besides the manual, its good! My furnace is up and running again and now I've got a neat real time OHM meter for my CAD sensor, this will enable me to monitor sensor degradation over time.

Have been replacing about once a year. Works great - until it doesnt anymore. I would recommend using in emergency only and get your manufacturer's replacement

Easy setup works great wired right into my furnace

The cross reference that the showed online did not match the ones on box. Very little information to go on as far as replacing old red popup/push button unit. If anyone needs helo using on an oil fired forced air unit, I figure the wiring out.

Installed easily replacing Becket control.

Fit perfectly and came with jumper wires to make connections.

What a pain in the butt. I finally got this thing wired properly and then it went into a hard lockout mode. Troubleshooting guide sucks. I ended up returning it.

Great if you want some clues as to why your furnace isn't acting as it should.

This primary control provides the reasons the furnace has an issue. I got it just for that feature to be able to identify an intermittent "tripping" and within a couple of days, I had the answer and got the part to correct the issue. The only issue with it, is if your furnace doesn't have a wire for the limit blade, the tech will need to splice the hot for it. The instructions do not talk about this issue. Other than that, it was easy to install.

Had a heater repaitcompany install it. Would not work. They tried everything. Finally went and got a beckett. Installed in 10 minutes was up and running. Thankful the company didnt charge me the hour plus of labor messing with it. Tech said the suck and dont work.

Skill set to install from 1 to 10 a 5 it works great and now with the led display I no what's wrong and what zone is not working system is working perfect and the price was just wright. I had no idea Home Depot sold this product glad I checked I feel better buying From Home Depot. Thanks

I used this to replace a Honeywell R7148 1024 with the #7248 Like the diagnostic features of the read out, great for trouble shooting. I used it on a Beckett Forced Air Furnace Unit, Had to feed limit switch connection with a constant 120 volt on 7248 Primary Control to fake it out that Limit switch was closed. So unit would operate as per Honeywell.Took feed from on/off disconnect switch on unit of side.
