Had the heater 6 months now & have had several issues, one of which completely shut down the system because of an error code that wasn’t in the manual or on the company website. There have also been several times that the hot water was interrupted while taking a long shower.

Features unlimited hot water are awesome. Once installed by the gas company, it’s all set to go. Gas company charged 1/4 of what plumbing’s wanted. Wife can now use her garden tub in the master bathroom.

Great quality water heater. The tankless system works great once the hot water gets to my bathroom. It takes a while to get use to turning on the water in the shower a couple minutes before I get in.

Easy to install. Quiet. Efficient. We have vacation rentals with lots of people and it handles them all.

I think the plumber who sold it to me was not up front. This unit was installed in my summer condo. In a hallway closet less tha 2 feet from the bathroom and 4 feet from the bedroom. I think this device belongs in a basement, garage , not near living space.

This is my second unit and I have been very happy with them over the last 18 years.

I love that we don't run out of hot water after doing dishes and taking a shower. I'm also happy that hot water is nice and clear unlike my old hot water tank that gave us only limited amount of brown hot water.

Heats up the water to the temperature set. I have owned the unit for 3 months. Product has met my expectations.

This is good product that doesn't take up much space and delivers good, hot water. However, if you are moving from a traditional water tank, keep in mind that takes about 5-10 seconds longer for the hot water to reach you.

After almost one month my new RU199iN continues to operate perfectly and delivers the right temperature water on demand. The unit operates very quietly as well. During a four hour power outage it continued to function flawlessly on generator power without any need to reset the unit or the temperature setting. While it is too early yet to get an accurate estimate of the savings over the 50 gallon electric heater it replaced, based on a partial two week period on the last gas bill, the savings appears to be huge. I am extremely satisfied with this unit.

We’ve only had it a couple of months. While I like the peace of mind knowing I won’t have a leak from the unit being in my attic, it takes a really long time to heat the water. I feel I’m wasting excessive water to take a shower.

Have been in new house 3 months. Unit seems to be be very quiet. We positioned the Rinnai central to our house to serve Master bath, guest bath, Laundry, and Two kitchen sinks. The 1/2 bath and garage sink are about 35 and 45 feet from the Rinnai, and is very slow to provide hot water to these two sinks. Considering other alternatives now for the two sinks at longer distances.

Very simple to install and just as easy to maintain. I'm so happy with the quality and performance of this tankless water heater. Haven't had any issues with it. I lived for years having to take cool and downright cold showers because the girls would have drained all the hot water by the time it was my turn to shower. Not anymore. Endless amounts of hot water that 100% keeps up with demand. I chose Rinnai after many weeks of research and scouring over other reviewes. I made the right choice... I absolutely love it!

I believe water shortage will be the next disaster Some cities already using desalinization. I usually wet down and turn off water to lather up, again to shampoo,again to shave, again to use conditioner and then to rinse. The water then gets cold sitting in the lines, also when someone uses hot water in another room. It is not real bad but I have to step away from the shower head and let the water warm again. This is summertime and I will be wondering what will happen in the winter. I wonder if you can insulate the plumbing lines. I know it is not recommended to insulate copper lines. We have a full basement under a single story home,

One of the biggest reasons I bought this water heater, aside from its efficiency rating, was to save space within my home. I installed this tankless water heater almost 2 months ago, installation was a breeze. All around great product and has lived up to my expectations.

Love when the hot water begins to flow it's there until you decide to turn it off.

I did lots of research for the best high efficiency gas tankless water heater. I bought the RU199in. It was professionally installed. The guy did a great job and it runs great. No more running out of hot water even when the washing machine and dishwasher is running. Excellent product.

Our new Rinnai was installed the first week of June 2019. I was a little nervous about switching over from a 50 gal tank water heater to tankless, but there was no need to be nervous. It maybe takes 10 secs more for the first person to shower to get hot water in the morning. The best thing is that someone can jump in the other shower at the same time and there is no loss of hot water, I am a happy customer!

This unit replaced a Navien Unit we had for many years. The Navien never performed like it should. It would leak (o-rings), hot water would spike from hot to cold during showers and unit would power off randomly. Our Rinnai has so far been awesome. Easy install, constant hot water with no fluctuations, and yes, no leaks. We are very very happy with this unit thus far.

I just had a 10 year old Noritz replaced with a Rinnai.. The difference is night and day.. I wanted a rinnai ten years ago, but that didn't happen.. I have been really pleased with my new Rinnai.

We have a Rianni RU199i model. Have had it for about 3 months now. Installed during a cold spring and use into summer now, winter usage not yet experienced. Some of the things we like: 1. we have a house with 5 women in it - dad still gets a hot shower and doesn't fight any more for the line to the shower. We also have guest frequently in town and we don't worry any longer about trying to manage hot water usage with a 50 gallon tank 2. cost-savings - still analyzing, but our energy bills are lower, could be our seasonal time at which we got it but compared to last year's energy usage we had lower bills and similar, if not slightly higher energy unit usage 3. space-saving - doesn't take as much space in the basement as the last hot water heater 4. not worried about a tank breaking and flooding basement - when they took away our old tank it cracked and bottom broke just as they had drained it and started to wheel it away (whew!) The issue that we noticed is that you always have to pre-warm the water first and in order to do that you have to use a remote. It would nice if there was a way to install a timer to start automatically to warm the water for you. Also I noticed that the water get warm at different times even when I haven't pre-warmed or used it in a while. We only had it for a month or so. The feature I like is that the unit is not really big and doesn't take up much room. Also I would love to be able to use an application on my phone to start pre-heating the water when I want to. I would love to see a feature where you can have multiple programs to warm water at different times of the day or night. turn off the water heater when on vacation. It would be nice to be able to find out if these new features can be updated through program within the system.

It works exactly like I hoped. Endless hot water. A lot of people seem to get “endless” and “instant” mixed up. This hot water certainly isn’t instant. Especially if the water in the pipe has to travel a distance to get to your shower or sink or whatever. It is, however, endless. We absolutely love it.

Efficient and outstanding product. Every plumber we spoke with recommended Rinnai.
