    Removes dried cement
This product does exactly what it says it will, it turns the dried caked on cement into a soft wet mush. For really caked on cement I let the product sit for about 30 min then I used a metal scrapper and some elbow grease and was able to remove the rest of the stubborn cement. If you just let the product just sit and then power wash it off like the directions say only about 50-60% of the dried cement will be washed off and you have to start all over. I would recommend spraying then scrapping for best results. I used this product for the inside of my chevy express van and I'm very pleased with the results.

      Worst product on the market
We have one piece of rain gutter pipe. We have now spent three days and have done over 17 treatments to take off the concrete residue on it, power washed it after the 14 treatment and the product doesn't work. Even with a metal scraper that is damaging our one piece of pipe isn't working. The picture here shows a brown liquid but our special Home Depot order came as a yellow greenish liquid. Sakrete took off a little of the top of the concrete spots but that was it. We called the number on the bottle and even the company said it isn't one of their best products. We loved the fact it's biodegradable but it really is worthless. So many hours of work and we may have a only a couple ounces left of the product. So frustrating, special order, special trip to Home Depot, hours of waiting for it to work, even letting it sit over 2 nights reapplying, setting up a power washer, getting gas for the power washer and nothing... What a major waste of time and we are sure Home Depot won't give us our money back. So Unhappy!

I had a brick work company do a rather lousy job on repointing some of the bricks on a planter wall. This product definitely loosens the unwanted mortar on bricks rather quickly. But one must scrub the mortar off with a wire brush and in pits in fancy bricks, which is what I had to clean, one needs to dig the loosened mortar out with a metal scraper. It is very important to thoroughly hose off the bricks after cleaning to avoid crusting or residue appearing on the bricks after they have dried. So, the product works well, but expect to do a lot of scrubbing, scraping, and rinsing off before the job is finished to your satisfaction. I used three bottles to clean a low rating wall of about 25' in length and maybe 2.5' in height. As you can see from the pictures, I have a little more work to do in the cleaning.

White residue left behind! Please help
We heard great things about this product and reviews have been positive. After 1st application there was a white residue left behind. We attempted a 2nd and 3rd application and even power washed thorough. Very disappointed with the result which is 10x worse than the cement that was there in the first place. Please help.

This mortar dissolver saved my car! Construction started right next to my apartment and driveway, and unbeknownst to me, the bricklayers were dropping mortar on my car while they worked. I had already replaced the windshield they cracked, but I still needed to get the mortar off. The guy who replaced the windshield said it was probably a total loss, and I'd have to get the whole car repainted, but I wanted to at least try cleaning it up first. After a little research, I ordered a bottle of this dissolver, picked it up, and tried it out. I used the entire bottle, and over the course of an hour and a half (and several applications), I would guess I got 90% of the mortar off! I don't know what kind of shape my clear coat is in yet, but it's so much better already. I've posted before and after pics. The roof still needs work (it took the brunt of the mortar), and I definitely had better luck with the flatter surfaces (hood, trunk, etc) than with the vertical ones. But overall I'm very pleased with the results. I just need a second bottle to finish the job...and now it's unavailable.

We recently put brick coping around a clients pool. The guy that poured the deck smeared concrete all over the bricks. A week later I went and looked at it and was horrified. We ordered this and let me tell you. It works as advertised. Very impressive. Saved us several thousand dollars. The brick in the photo is still drying but it was covered in dry concrete.

I bought this to remove splashes of cement/concrete from the surface of my car. There were 6-7 spots of cement on my car and it was about 6 months old before I decided to try this product. This no magic, but is works perfectly as advertised. Since it was a vertical metallic surface for me, the liquid will not stay there, so I had to use it multiple times(9-10 times) to remove the cement completely. It doesn't consume much, I'm still left with more than 90% of it! I would spray the liquid on all the spots and rub of the surface with a cloth to remove the molten cement and then reapply again in 30 minutes or so. Did it over a few days and there are no marks left or paint damage if you rub off the molten cement carefully. Hope this product helps you too. I would recommend this. And HomeDepot offered me the best price for this among all places I searched for.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR CAR. I purchased this for splash on concrete that hit my brothers car roof when he was driving by a construction zone. The LABEL clearly says you can use this on vehicles but it scratched and made streak lines on the paint of the vehicles roof where it was used. Very disappointing and now trying to fix even more damage to the car.

You have to hose all of the sand and grit off when the Dissolver breaks down the cement. If you wipe the cement off of the car the sand and grit will scratch the paint. If all of the grit is not broken down then let dry and spray again. There are no sands and grit in this product that would scratch paint. The grit that scratched the car came from the concrete itself. sakrete

I purchased this product to remove a fine mist of concrete from my vehicle that happened as a result of driving by where concrete was being cut. I figured that this product would easily remove the fine mist spots since the video shows caked on concrete coming off easily, but they didn't budge. I attempted several times, leaving the product on for the suggested 15-20 minutes and not letting it dry (which is not an easy task since the foam slides off the vehicle so fast). The product goes quickly and before you know it you've used half the bottle. The video that accompanies this product is extremely deceiving and shows the concrete practically melting right off. I am very disappointed.

If you were near concrete being cut, then it is probably the cutting solution that they were using to keep the blade cool that is stuck to your car. Concrete dust should not be able to adhere to your car without being in contact with some other compound. Once concrete is activated it cannot be reactivated when being cut by a concrete saw. You may want to look into a cleaning detergent and not a concrete dissolver. sakrete

              Needed Product
I was not looking forward to giving my new retaining wall an acid wash to clean it up. After hearing about mortar dissolver I had to try it. It worked on the wall without me having to apply a lot of scrubbing power. The product foams and and struck to the vertical surface better than expected. i followed the directions and for the most part only needed one application. The heavier built-ups required two on this project. Next I also wanted to see how it would clean some old tools that had embedded layers of cement on them. This took 3 applications and a Little muscle power , but the tools were shiny again and very usable. Next I used it to clean out my cement mixer. Not perfect in the corners but took the rest of the built up away , most in 1 application. If cleaning tools be careful not to do it over clean concrete . It will leave a beach type mark if you leave it sitting foe a long time. I will be buying more to use on my next retaining wall Wear protective clothing and gloves

Works well. Let it sit awhile and do its job. Keep it wet
Last year I went to HD looking for Muriatic acid to remove concrete paste that had gotten onto the surface of the stone patio. They didn't have the acid so I bought this on the recommendation of a contractor who was in the same aisle and after reading some reviews online while in the store. He said he'd used it before and it worked for him. The guys who installed the patio had poured a concrete slab as a base for the patio. While doing that they had splashed some small specs of concrete paste onto the glass and vinyl surfaces of our patio doors. When they laid the stone the mortar of the joints got onto the stone. They tried to clean it but I wasn't satisfied. I used the concrete-mortar cleaner to clean the splatters off the vinyl and glass. That went quickly and the product worked well. The mortar on the stones took more time and had to be done in a couple of steps. I sprayed the cleaner on, let it sit and work, scrubbed the mortar with a stiff brush and then washed it off. It worked to remove about 3/4 of the mortar. I let it dry and repeated the process and got off all I wanted to. This second time I washed the edges of the stones where the excess mortar had been with a pressure washer and the edges came clean. It is important to keep the product wet while it is working so I kept applying the product to keep it wet and working. Also, the mortar liquefies/dissolves so care has to be taken to keep it wet and wash it off as you go. If the surface you're working on is porous be careful to keep washing the dissolved paste away so it doesn't set up. Our patio is about 10 x 15 in stones that range from 12 x 18 and 12 x 36 to 24 x 24 and I only used one spray bottle and a couple of ounces from the second bottle I'd bought. I thought it went a long way and was a good value. This year I just used a bit of that second bottle to remove years old concrete from 2 trowels I bought at a yard sale that I cut the handles off for an art project. The old concrete was about 1/8" thick. I sprayed the trowels, let them site (covered up so the product wouldn't dry out), scraped off the now dissolved concrete and then did that again and got down to the metal. This stuff works if you give it time to eat into and dissolve the concrete/mortar, keep it wet and are patient.

              Doesn't work
I got this product to remove spots of cement from my asphalt driveway. The workers who installed a new cement floor in my garage tracked cement onto my driveway. The cement had been on the driveway for about 2 months before I tried this product. I applied it according to the directions and used a power washer to remove the cement. It didn't work. I reapplied product. Still didn't work. I even tried the 0 degree setting on the power washer, but stopped after I saw it was putting grooves in the asphalt.

              Concrete Mortar Dissolver
I purchased this product to remove dried concrete from the tailgate of my truck. The concrete had been on the tailgate for about a year and I had low expectations of being able to remove it. Following the instructions, I allowed the concrete to soak for a couple of hours, spraying it about every 20 minutes. After the first couple of hours, there was noticeable improvement so I took the pressure washer and rinsed off as much as I could. After the first round of using this product the majority of the concrete easily rinsed off. I repeated the same process a couple of times and with the careful assistance of a razor knife blade, I was able to remove all of the dried concrete. This concrete dissolver is a product that definitely requires patience when being used in this application. I am giving it 4 stars because I did have to resort to mechanical means in order to remove all of the concrete. Overall I am very pleased with how well it worked and would definitely not have been able to remove the concrete from my tailgate without it. I would definitely recommend this product. My advice to others is to use patience and soak the dried concrete for as long as possible. Good luck!

Concrete Dissolver works on Concrete slop on van
Our van went though a puddle with some concrete slop in it. I didn't wash it off immediately so it dried, cured, hard. After trying a pressure washer and scratching the finish while scraping some concrete off with a hard sponge (the bits that came off worked like sandpaper) ... THEN I found a reference to concrete dissolver online, purchased the product and it worked. Thanks. Wish I had found this earlier.

                NOT SO FAST!!!
I purchased Sakrete Concrete Dissolver based on reviews and the videos on YouTube. I have to say that it DID NOT live up to the hype or the videos!!! I had 3 tools soaking in the liquid for 4 Eight-Hour days, and still, on the 4th day, there was still concrete on a majority of each tool. I saw on the videos that it should be soft enough to remove with bare fingers...although some of the concrete came off like that, there were a lot of areas that did not. Additionally, after the second day of placing my hands in the liquid to try to rub the concrete off the tools, the palms of my hands became flaky like psoriasis A few of my tools still have concrete on them....I gave up and will invest in another product.

The longer the concrete is allowed to cure on tools. The harder it can be to dissolve the cement. We don't advise to using any Sakrete products with out the use of proper PPE. I was skepitcal but this stuff was great. I was remodeling an old bathroom and the last person managed to get conrete from laying new floor tiles all other the bathtub (a lot of conrete on it - like they were trying to use it as caulk - ridiculous really). I used this to remove it: I let it soak 10-15, sprayed more as needed, & simply used a putty knife to remove, it took it all off. It has chemical smell but not a toxic over powering scent - just open a window. This stuff was great. If ever had to I would order it again. I recommend it.
