Bad Bad Bad.
Horrible! Worst refrigerator I’ve Ever Owned! This is the second Samsung that we’ve gotten over the past 3 years and I am having the same issues as the others. If I can attach photos I will although 3k for a fridge that frosts over literally every other day is crazy. It’s not just a little frost the vents ice completely over. We’ve went ahead and bought a deep freezer just to keep our things frozen because it won’t freeze anything and the fridge side is colder than the freezer. Samsung should consider this defective and pull the plug on this one.

    Repair every year
    We bought the matching refrigerator and stove in 2015/2016. Every year that we have owned the fridge we have to get some type of repair to it. These are each different times. They have replaced the defrost sensor, then had to come again and do it, the main control board in the back. They were just here on Wed 10/7/20 to replace the defrost sensor again. The freezer area builds up so much ice behind the plastic panel that it grinds on the fan. I am glad we bought the extended warranty for 3 years and I purchased the extended warranty after that one expired. Homedepot has been responsive to the repairs, but it has happened like clock work every year and most likely will have to purchase a new fridge after this warranty period expires. The Homedepot extended warranty states if they repair the same item 3 times they will replace it, but the technician writes the report up differently so it seems like each repair is for something different.

          We've now had two of these refrigerators - and both brand new units - and they do not seal at the bottom of the freezer. First, we bought out house with this brand new unit inside - so we couldn't verify where it came from or if it was damaged when being delivered/installed. After dealing with months of a nightmare with Samsung we were finally told the unit could not be replaced by Samsung nor repaired and they would need to "refund" us. Since we didn't buy the fridge we were given $1104 (not enough to cover a new Fridge, BTW, until a nice salesperson at Home Depot helped us with a coupon). Now, I'm home for the new fridge delivery (second of this unit we've now owned). I see how carefully it was delivered and it was installed by two nice guys. Look at the bottom of the freezer - and boom, still not sealing. It's clearly a design flaw, and why Samsung did not have it's own inventory stock to send to us. Save yourself and just cough up the extra cash for a GE unit. We would have done so if we weren't trying to keep the same brand of appliance throughout our kitchen.

            The ice maker is grossly insufficient. The lights in the refrigerator are too dim and only light the top shelf. The temperature control doesn't stay at the temperature I set it. I set it for the coldest temperature and 2 hours later it is set back to a medium temperature. That medium setting keeps the refrigerator at 45 degrees, which is NOT cold enough especially for meats. And it runs louder than my old refrigerator. I am taking it back and getting a different model.

                I bought this refrigerator two years ago WITH a complete Home Depot warranty through Asurion. We have had six documented service calls through Asurion and still they refuse to honor their "lemon replacement." Failures have included: ice maker not working (twice), no water (three times) and not cooling (fridge 60 degrees). I will place a 7th call in the morning -- fridge is at 61 degrees again. Horribly dissatisfied with the reliability of this refrigerator AND unbelievably dissatisfied with Home Depot and Asurion's refusal to stand behind their warranty.

                  DO NOT BUY THIS - YOU'LL BE SORRY!!! Purchased this refrigerator in September of 2017. After 7 months, ice maker stopped making ice and it started to leak. Called customer service and they made me go through resetting the freezer button (located inside the ice maker unit), and asked me if the refrigerator was leveled (????). Still didn't work as it should, so I called Samsung, again and they finally sent a repair tech, which by the way was not a Samsung tech, but a third party (the same people who setup the refrigerator). It was discovered that the motor was defective, so they replaced it. Several months after, the same thing started to happen; no ice, started leaking, ice started to build up all over the wall of the freezer, but didn't keep food frozen like it should. A lot of food wasted!!! At this time, manufacturer's warranty had expired. Called Samsung again and they told me since warranty has expired, they would charge me a $400 diagnostic fee just for them to come out. The fee does not include parts and labor....WHAT!!!??? We've only had this unit for 1.5 years; something that should at least last 10 years. Looks nice, but that's about it!!! Our last refrigerator was a General Electric - which lasted us for 25 years!!! The only reason why we replaced it was just to upgrade....how wrong we were!!!

                    YOU MUST SEE PHOTO! This is so poorly designed, it is unbelievable. A refrigerator should get cold enough to freeze water. Of course I wouldn't set it that cold, but I like really cold drinks. At the maximum (coldest setting) doesn't even come close to freezing. I would call the water temp "cool" not "cold." I called their tech support and after they had me run through a bunch of nonsense, they told me to wait 24 hours and it should be fixed. It wasn't. Why? Because it's a poor design. The interior light is poorly designed. The ice CUBE dispenser gives you cubes and some crushed ice mixed. Again poor design. The ice maker jams on occasion because again, poor design. The refrigerator is level, yet still makes noises from time to time that's not the ice maker. The door is not self closing. Not even close. I can open 10 degrees and let it go. Without a push, it stays open. Again POOR design. To not even have a self closing door in the year 2018 is unreal. This unit is about 3 months old and cost me $1300 w/tax and delivery. To show everyone how serious I am about making my point and getting rid of this pile of ill-conceived junk, please see the photos.

                      It is good for the price but there were several things that were disappointing. There needs to be more options for shelf height and an additional drawer. Also the placement of the light allows it to be blocked easily and makes it hard to see. In addition, the icemaker is very noisy. Also the water dispenser is a bit too low and the tube where the water actually comes out should be in the center of the dispenser instead of the front.

                      Overall, this refrigerator is really nice...sleek-looking, roomy, does everything it's supposed to and, the big seller, the drawers for produce are ROOMY! I'm also glad it's magnetic...since I have a small collection of favorites that have been on a LOT of fridges over the years! The minuses are: There's no real indication of the temperature when you set the "bars" to one, two three, etc...and the in-door ice and water has no light where you put the glass...gets sketchy in the middle of the night if you are like me and don't turn on all the lights! My favorite part of the User Manual was, where it speaks of "super-cooling" the dispensed water...it says (and I am para-phrasing) The water dispensed is cool, not cold but if you want to "super-cool" it...place several cubes of ice in the glass first, then dispense the water into the ice! I laughed right out loud!

                      Th fridge is delivered and they did not install the door handle. After the renovations done, I unpacked the fridge's plasting wrappings and tried to install the door handles. There is only 3 screws there. MISSING ONE! The door handle missing a screw. Contacted home depot they say I need to contact Samsung,. Called and chatted with Samsung twice, wasted 30 minutes in total. they still requesting this and that from me, but not sending me the screw. Apparently, the customer service is bad! I may have to purchase that ONE screw somethere else rather than wasting my time with Samsung.

                        There were serious issues with the company that delivers from Samsung. I had to place the same order 3 times and instruct the people receiving it to leave the refrigerator uninstalled as there were structural modifications being made to the nook that would house the refrigerator. Our previous fridge was only 19 cu Ft. Other than that, this Samsung is gorgeous, silent, spacious and it fits perfectly on the space reserved for it. My only concern now is a water leak on the water/ice door dispenser. It is only few drops throughout the night, but it seems to be happening on and off. Pretty nice design.

                        I WILL NEVER BY SAMSUNG AGAIN! Prior to this incident I had no complaints about Samsung. After this purchase I NEVER want to buy anything Samsung ever again. I purchased this refrigerator and a week after arrival the compressor was not working and two sensors did not work - so basically the refrigerator did not cool and did not work. Samsung required me to have a two techs look at it, and the 2nd technician finally said it was un-repairable, and I was supposed to get a new replacement from the Manufacturer. A month later, and after having to call Samsung every other day, because you are never able to speak directly to a supervisor and they never called be back when they said they would, I decided I wanted my money back. From the first day of dealing with Samsung costumer service, they are rude, incompetent, and do not care about the client. They are there following their checklist, just like a robot, and do nothing to actually help the customer. The initial person you speak to is nice and says they will do everything possible to help, but they can only take notes. They can't really help. Once you fight for about 30min to speak to a supervisor, and you finally get to speak to a supervisor they don't care to help and actually get anything done. So after insisting that I want a refund, they finally tell me that Samsung is waiting for the bill of sale. However, no one called me to notify me of this. I was notified after I called to get an update. I sent the bill of sale and the first representative did not save the attachment, so I had to send it again. I send it again, and a new representative asures me he properly attached the bill of sale. Again another week passes and no call. So when I call they tell me I need to approve the amount (someone could have called me so this could have been completed sooner). I approve the amount given to me by the Samsung representative named Mr. Jackson (this was a supervisor), however nothing was recorded. I call another day and speak to another supervisor by the name of Barbara, and she approves a different amount, I say ok just to finalize this matter, and she doesn't record or make the request to get an approval. I call again the next week after not hearing from Samsung, and Brendan tells me the information was not sent correctly, so he makes another request for a refund with a different amount. No one has called me back yet. The following week I call again to get a status and Mark tells me it will be 4 more days. The next day I call to expedite this issue, and a supervisor by the name of Carlos tells me the refund amount was rejected by their finance department because the amount was incorrect, AGAIN. And again, I did not receive a call from anyone at Samsung, and Carlos the supervisor promises me and assures me that he reprocessed everything with the correct amount and this would get expedited and finalized on Monday (this was on Friday). I do not get any calls the following week, so on Thursday I call again and Alyah tells me the expedite was rejected, so the finance department will be taking their sweet time to review the bill and sale and the refund amount. ***AT THIS POINT IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS AND 6 DAYS THAT I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS SAME ISSUE***. I tell Alyah that I want to speak to a supervisor. She tells me that she will relay the message. Alyah tells me she is told that this matter cannot get expedited, and I will have to wait 4-10 days for this to get reviewed. I say ok, but I still want to speak to a supervisor. Well no matter what I said or how many times I said I needed to speak to a supervisor, Alyah would not transfer me to a supervisor and finally concluded with there are no supervisors available. Keep in mind also, the executive team is in the East Coast, and I am in CA so I always had to make sure I called early. Well to end this, it's been over two months, and I do not have a functioning refrigerator or my refund. Home Depot has been so nice to be as accommodating as possible, but Samsung costumer service is by far the worst I have ever encountered. And because all appliances will sooner or later require some attention, and because I don't ever want to deal with Samsung customer relations, I will try my hardest to AVOID ever purchasing anything Samsung ever again. By the way, the water always leaked when you didn't use it, just like the other reviews mentioned.

                          Lots of Room
                          I find that I have more space than the side by side I was replacing. The only issue i have is that the wording on the selector panel are hard to see unless you have a bright light on in the kitchen. The words look like they are behind a smoked glass cover. Unit itself cooled down in about 3 hours from connecting it. The freezer was at -20 deg and the fridge was at 33 deg. The ice maker is a little noisy when the ice falls but it was empty. Now that the bin is getting full it is not as loud.

                            We bought this refrigerator after spending a year researching refrigerators. You can't beat the price and we don't need bells and whistles, just ice and water. This fridge is perfect. We've only had it for a week, but so far so good. I don't know why people complain about it being noisy, it runs quiet and the only time it makes noise is when it should. It's quieter than our old fridge! Looks nice with our other Samsung appliances and I like that it beeps if the door is left open. I bought a self-adhesive light and stuck it next to water dispenser so you can see it at night. My only complaint is that one of the right side door bins doesn't fit. It keeps falling off, so we have one less bin. I'll have to replace it.
