Worst appliance ever
We have had this refrigerator for 4 years and by far it is the worst appliance I have ever owned bar none. The first year we noticed water under the beverage tray. we found that the evaporator drain was frozen. We installed a longer aluminum Clip Drain Evaporator. We never had the water under the tray again and assumed that was taken care of. Next, we have had unending problems with the icemaker freezing up and the freezer deciding to quit working. We would try to reset the controller by unplugging and unreliably the freezer would restart. The last straw has been the drinking water freezing up shattering the filter and reservoir then unthawing and dumping 20 gallons or more of water on our wood floors. We are still dealing with the floor damage as I write this. Tomorrow it will be over we are scrapping the piece of over engineered crap and buying a Frigidaire. Worst investment on an Appliance ever.

    Samsung products are sad
    Sad refrigerator. Now freezing up because of known problems. I lost of of our thanksgiving food. My Samsung microwave went out once. My Samsung dryer has had the elements replaced twice and my Samsung stove screen has to be replaced twice now.

        Everything is fine, but Im restoring the paint of the fridge since my kids scratches by accident, wi want to know what color # type is? the spec sheet just says white, but theres tons of whites colors... i want to find the correct color.           DO NOT BUY THESE APPLIANCES!!! They are the worst
          I bought all four frig, stove, dishwasher and microwave, all but the microwave have been huge disappointments!!! I have had them maybe 2 years and the dishwasher has stop working once, just went dead. The clock on the stove looks like it glitches with a constant flickering behind the clock, the name plate is coming off which is just so unattractive, plus the coating “black stainless “ is peeling under the oven door handle! Now the refrigerator although the ice maker which everyone else seems to have had trouble with has always worked well the shelf that wraps around the ice maker inside on the door has broken, the bottom has split, and let’s talk about how it’s a 4 day project the clean under the glass 🙄 why should anyone have to disassemble a refrigerator to that degree to clean under that little lip where the glass sits? These appliances are completely garbage!!! For the money I have spent I feel completely sick!

            Samsung should have issued a recall for these
            Just bought a house and this refrigerator came with it. Now I know why the owners left it. Within one week the frig unit wasn't keeping temperature. Saw ice accumulating in holes over evaporator cover. Googled around and found a class action lawsuit in Virginia, a Facebook group of owners with the exact same problem. Also found youtube videos on how to fix it. Figured I'd give it a shot - opened up the cover and - HA! the prior owner had already tried all the Youtube fixes, to no avail. There was a block of ice around the top right, and the drain was frozen solid (with the longer tube heater insert in it). I may still try a fix, but I bet my wife will just make us buy a new one. LG here we come. Samsung should just give up on refrigerators with how they've handled this - it should have been recalled, permanently fixed, and lastly for the engineer who designed this garbage, they should publicly shame them on Linkedin. Find a new career buddy.

              Bad ice maker and temp control
              after three years ice maker began to malfunction. overfills then stops making ice then ice it melts and refreeze at the bottom of the compartment and bottom of the fridge. i empty the ice twice a day to keep it running and cold enough to not melt ice or i have to shut it off. shut off sometimes it takes multiple resets, which can only be done once a day to get it running again. so shuting off can mean no ice for several days. i also have to defrost or chip away at ice chunks in the compartment about every other week. the maintenance i have to di is ridiculous. i also bought a samsung dishwasher at the same time. it stsrted to leak after just over a year so i have to place a boot mat under the front of it everytime i run it. samsung tvs and phones are great, the appliances are horrible

                Years of hassle!
                about 2 years into having the refrigerator our ice maker started freezing over. we would defrost using tips found on internet only to find this temporary solution work for a few weeks at a time. we even found they had published about new parts made to fix this problem permanently. we bought the part just for it work for a little while and then back to normal issues again. ice even built up behind the inner back wall panel of the refrigerator. we had to remove all the food to take it off and defrost. we see the ice building up again. we haven't used our ice maker in almost a year and i just tried removing the tray and now it's stuck. can't remove it and can't get back in all the way. this is ridiculous and an evident defect in this model.

                    Water doesn't work unless it's leaking
                    really like the space but the water always would stop working intermittently. the bottom of the refrigerator would be the only spot that would get water and it freezes under the deli tray. today it was so bad that it started leaking out of the sides. haven't been able to get ice since the water won't work long enough for it to make the ice. it's like playing the lottery when you're trying to get water out of this thing. it only works where it's not supposed to go!

                      i bought this fridge about 2 years ago and hadn't had any problems until recently. it started making weird mechanical noises and now the ice maker often freezes to the point that it doesn't create more ice cubes....typically i've been able to manually remove all the ice. however, today i wasn't even able to because of how much it accumulated. picture attached after trying to remove everything.

                        this is the worst icemaker on the planet. constantly frosts over and into the bin. have tried various methods of sealing the unit since warmer air is clearly getting in. i removed the bin and sealed the opening to watch the frost grow. **please see photo**

                          Ice Maker Constantly Freezes Up
                          the icemaker continually ices up. this creates a wedge of frozen cubes which prevents the ice from falling into the dispenser and consequently making more ice. i regularly have to use a knife to break up the ice jam. am now resorting to manually defrosting the unit with a blow-dryer.

                            Reliability is HORRIBLE!
                            My ice maker froze up a little after 1 year. Defrosted the ice maker a number of times until it totally quit working. The coils in the back of the inside completely iced over after about 2 years. Defrosted a number of times (total pain in the a&&) and now the fridge cannot get over 46 degrees even though I have set it between 34-40 degrees F. The last time I thawed it out it only took 2 weeks before I saw ice developing on the back wall coils again. Stuff now spoils quickly and I will probably be buying a new one and this current fridge is only 4 years old!!! Stay away from Samsung. Their customer service people would not help me other than call someone to come out. Go to youtube and look. There are sooo many people showing how to thaw the fridge and ice maker out. It is comical. So many people who had technicians out who couldn't fix it but still charged them. Do you reseach.

                              Horrible ice dispenser
                              the ice maker has been serviced or repaired 4-5 times in the 3 years we have owned it. it used to freeze up and no ice. then there was a recall and the part finally fix it. now it leaks inside the fridge and each time you get ice. so furious with it!

                                Spent a small fortune on this unit. Worked fine for only a few months. Then it started. We are on the third ice make and it quit months ago. The drain freezes in the refrigerator section. We live with constant towels soaking up the drain water. This unit reminds me of the Pontiac Fiero “looks good, won’t run”. Do not buy a Samsung refrigerator. You will be sorry if you do.

                                  The fridge freezes up slowly, and I have to take the back panel off and defrost it. First time took 2 years, then maybe a year. Then months, now I defrosted it 2 weeks ago and it's keeping a constant 46° in the fridge, with a nice vibrating sound of the fan spinning and hitting ice. Thanks Samsung, and home depot for helping out.

                                    we've had this 2 years. i was hoping to have it for many years and i can't wait to get rid of it!!! where do i begin? first the ice maker is the terrible. besides the fact that the ice comes out super slow, it freezes up every other day and doesn't produce ice. second, the water that comes out of the dispenser? is hard water and there's build up on the tray - ooh! and the paint is coming off of it. third? good luck cleaning the gook that gets caught on the glass shelves. fourth, better luck cleaning that open piece in the vegetable trays. fifth, every little mark shows on the exterior. sixth, the humidity control wording is already rubbing off and the interior is cracked! all within a couple of years. great buy - not!!!

We have had the unit for two weeks and thankful for a new frig! I like the ability to raise the interior top left shelf in order to make room for tall bottoms or chilled displays. The drawer in the freezer is great for extra storage and organizing. The alarm that lets you know if the door have been open for more that a few minutes is great! The ice cubes are smaller in size than that our last unit, but that doesn't bother me. The biggest issue is the the interior cool select pantry door which seems to get off track unless you are very very careful pulling it out.

                                        I purchased this refrigerator along with a stove and microwave 4 years ago. I am sure that they have changed slightly but their refrigerator has known issue that they don't seem to fix. Do an internet search on Samsung ice maker freezing up. You will find numerous videos and written instructions on how to fix this issue and all the parts that you will need to buy to fix it. If Samsung knows that this is such a problem, why don't they engineer it differently. I have had the entire ice maker replaced once and now have to fix it again. Also, the covering on the digital screens of their appliances delaminate. This happened about 2 years after purchase so therefore it was no longer covered under warranty, which I thought was ridiculous. My next set of appliances will be Bosch.

There is a ton of Room in the refrigerator and freezer sections and I love having the freezer on the bottom as I am disabled and it is much easier for me to get into and find things! Our only problem is buying enough groceries to fill this refrigerator up!

                                          BUYER BEWARE!!!! This model as well as most of Samsung refrigerators have issues with the ice maker freezing up. It is a design defect Samsung refuses to take responsibility for. Home Depot also refuses to take responsibility for selling a defective product. Therefore, don't waste your money. It is unfortunate we did not read reviews before purchasing as we would not have chosen Samsung for appliances.

                                            I've had this model since 6/2013, after owning it for over a year the ice maker started freezing up. In 7/2017 Samsung came out with a kit to fix the icing up issue (Y-clip w/bracket). Year later 2019 the evaporator started icing up, replace the back cover panel to address this issue. I've had two visits by installers and one by a Samsung Tech who missed not leveling it, make sure it's level. I've called into Samsung several times after the one year warranty was up. They have said like a broken record they don't cover free repairs after the warranty is up, even though it's a known design flaw! If you do get it get the extended warranty you'll need it! Suggestion is consider Whirlpool it's more reliable!
