Started with the Ice Maker... I ended on Superbowl
Bought the whole set, Refrigerator, Stove, and Microwave. The only thing that has lasted cicra 2024, is the Mirowave. The Started with the ice maker, but and ended with a fridge full of warm food when the compressor decided it was done. 6 years is what you get.

    Our's is 5 years old. We had to buy a new one already. The ice maker freezes up, had it fixed once and did it again. We upgraded to this fridge as we built a new home, should have stuck with the lower end appliances. The light pad on the drink drawer went out too and you can't tell how cold anything is. Very frustrating spending this much money.

      Great fridge, terrible ice maker placement!
      Love the fridge, absolutely HATE the placement of the ice maker! Since it is in the fridge as opposed to the freezer, it continuously freezes up! I’ve had the ice maker replaced twice in the past 5 years. Very glad I got the extended warranty.

        Ice Maker TERRIBLE!
        I bought this refrigerator in 2017?? Ice maker (non maker) is terrible! Samsung sent technician and they replaced the complete icemaker and told us this was a huge problem for Samsung. This was all done after the original warranty expired and Samsung gave me a one time extended warranty for this ice non-maker. That was nice.. so after a year of non interrupted service, the ice maker freezes up. When you remove the ice bucket, the entire interior of the ice machine is covered with icicles! Every 2 weeks we have to get out the hairdryer that has turbo heat, BBQ spatula and fork and a bucket and start the defrosting. Many times I get ice from my cheap Frigidaire to fill up the bucket on the Samsung when i don't want to spend the time thawing out all the icicles. We want this fixed soon as we are looking at replacing the refrigerator.

          Broken ice maker
          Bought in 2018. Knowing the ice maker can freeze up. I bought the 5 year warranty through home depot. I would turn off the ice maker when ice bucket was full. The Samsung recommended ice maker fix was implemented 4 years after purchase. The fix did not fix the issue. Don't buy this crap! Going to sell this thing for peanuts and buy another slightly dented refrigerator. 1500 down the drain because Samsung doesn't know how to fix their design flaw.

            4 years of battle & I am replacing fridge.
            I finally got fed up. 4 years, 3 ice makers. Last week it started leaking from under the left front of the refrigerator. I was mopping 3 times a day, sometimes more while I tried to find the leak. I pullled everything out of the freezer and the leak was not coming from anything plugged (based on forum recommendations). I read through the forums again and it was recommended that I replace the water filter. I did and the leak stopped....for 5 days. I was so sure that it was going to happen again I just purchased a new refrigerator from another manufacturer and it will be delivered on 8/1. Sure enough today (7/30) the leak is back under the left front corner of the refrigerator. I am going to make enough ice to get my husband through his ice requirement and then turn off the water to stop the leak. DONE dealing with it. If you never want ice this is a good unit and no other functions have failed....but if you want ice and use ice, even just a little bit I can't recommend this unit. Oh and something you will want to check before you buy one how you can get the unit serviced. Service, at least in my area is difficult to find and when you call the one company that does service the unit they inform me that I have to call Samsung and log a service ticket that will then be dispatched to the service company. I don't want to jump through these hoops any longer. I don't have to do it with any other appliance in my house that is no longer under warranty. I am finished and probably have owned my last Samsung appliance.

              Icemaker is a nightmare - rest of unit is fine
              I am on my third icemaker in 3 years. It leaks like a sieve and then stops working. It isn't over used (there are two adults in the house and one doesn't use ice at all). I will give Samsung credit they have warranty replaced the unit each time. I have finally designated one of the plastic door trays as nothing more than a water catch - anything I put in it sits in water. I have to clean the pink bacteria that builds up from the moisture on the seal between the icemaker and door dispenser once a week. If I open the door I am mopping the inside of the fridge and the floor from the water leaking from the seal. I don't know why the failures happen the same way each time, but within 3 months of replacement the leak from the ice maker to the seal starts and I am guaranteed that the icemaker will fail in the next 6 to 9 months. I have tried not using that side of the refrigerator for food storage so there is adequate cooling/circulation around the icemaker compartment. Besides rendering half of my fridge useless - it didn't help. I keep anything slightly warm when it goes into the fridge on the opposite side; nope that didn't help either. Love the style, the black stainless and the rest of the fridge appears to work without issue - but the icemaker is driving me insane. I have actually had to purchase a portable icemaker because this one is so unreliable. This is my 3rd or 4th refrigerator with a ice/water door dispenser and I have never experienced this issue with any of my other refrigerators. Definitely a undesired feature.

                  Piece of junk, don't buy
                  I bought this refridgerator in Sept 2017, and the only part that works right now is the light in the main section; -ice maker froze up after one year, had fixed twice, after a year froze up again, so now have to turn it on and off when i want ice and hope it doesn't freeze up again -main section, set at 35, thermometer reads 40, too warm for food safety -can't set flex tray temp, also reads 40 degrees, also TOO WARM -light in freezer doesn't work piece of junk, do NOT buy, i wasted a lot of money i don't have to replace it

                    Worst fridge I ever owned
                    Worst purchase, had it four years and leaks water constantly and there’s no fix. Makes a mess all over the floor. Of course it’s out of warranty so nothing they can do and no repair person can find a fix. I didn’t think I would spend this much on a fridge and have to buy a new one in less than five years. It’s junk. Replaced ice maker three times already too and last time we had to pay for it.

                      As with everyone else, the ICE Maker froze up and stopped making ice. I didn't buy a nice fridge just to have to de-ice the ice maker every month. Great fridge except for the ice making area.

                            No Ice Ice Baby
                            Ours is now several years old. Looks great, cools well, well laid out and runs quiet and reliably. The ice maker, however, is an unmitigated disaster. It freezes over constantly, when it does run Ice melts and every application you get water and ice (at least when it's not frozen up completely and gives you nothing). It also no longer can give whole cubes or crushed...just crushed with melt water. Also, it eats up filters like candy and they are VERY expensive. If the ice maker worked I'd give it five stars.

                              Aesthetically beautiful, functionally flawed
                              Fell in love with the design of this refrigerator, but almost immediately the icemaker started frosting up. Then it couldn't make ice, then it started leaking. It has been a constant problem and now the refrigerator isn't staying cold. All the food in the freezer has defrosted and items in the refrigerator have spoiled. I just didn't think a major brand like Samsung would have such a flawed product. Is it just this model or should I steer clear from other Samsung products?

                                Cool features
                                We have had this refrigerator for about 2 years now. The only down side to this refrigerator is that we have already had to replace the ice maker twice due to a defect. Luckily since the last replacement it has been working great. The overall features this product provides are ideal for our family. I love the French doors with extra space inside. The cooling door for easy access.

The most common place to see the water is at the bottom of the compartment, such as below the vegetable or crisper drawers. Leaks can occur outside of the refrigerator, or you can have an auto-fill water pitcher that is leaking as well. If you will be away from home for a long period (on vacation, for example) and won’t be using water or ice dispensers, close the water valve. Otherwise, water leakage may occur.                                     Bad design
                                    I had mine for a while and I would never buy again. The Ice maker builds up with Ice so you can't use it and the water line freezes so you can't get water out of the dispenser. If I would have known about these issues I would have gone with something else. Also when there is ice in the hopper it melts a little and then refreezes together so you got one big chunk of Ice. I would recommend if you want an Ice maker get one that is in the freezer part.

                                      We have been fighting with the ice maker since we bought this refrigerator. Now it's not working at all. Like most of the other features of the refrigerator but the ice maker is junk. Will never buy another ice maker not in the door.

                                        I have the unit 5 years and I have had to fix the ice maker last year and now I have to figure out how to fix a water leak which is probably the evaporator or the water filter under the crisper. Of course my warranty just expired.

                                          Worst fridge ever! Ice maker constantly freezes up and has to unplugged to thaw out over hours. And now the in door water will randomly stop working and for hours or days and then just start working again. And I'm not the only person having these problems. Never ever buy Samsung kitchen appliances.

Moisture forms in the fridge when warm air enters through a door left open, warm or hot items are stored inside, or compartments are not sealing correctly. When moisture freezes, it becomes frost.                                                       ice maker has froze up basically every three months since purchasing. super annoying considering the $$$ price tag. i have yet to find a reliable samsung household product. washer and dryer i have already having issues after 8 months. tvs dont have sound unless hard reset after every turnoff (i have 3 and one of them is a frame tv). samsung needs to get better or i need to stop buying

                                                        Bought dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, stove in September 2016. Dishwasher broke in 2019. Microwave broke less than a month after installing it but it was an easy fix, still hard at work. Stove ok but oven does not keep the correct temperature. REFRIGERATOR has not had a working ice maker for four years. Last week the compressor died. Is there a common thread here? You betcha.

                                                          [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this for about a month and I am very pleased. With the lift up and slide back shelves it has made storing taller bottles and stacking containers a breeze! The connectivity with my other Samsung products is amazing. My refrigerator sent a notice to my TV that the door was left open. If I have any criticism it is that the icemaker is slow. Not unbearably slow but noticeable.
