The label states to brush particles from cement, stone, clothing and shoes to prevent staining. If you have noticed red/orange marks on a hard surface or clothing, the quicker the stain removal process is started, the more effective the process will be. Sunlight and water will help to fade the iron stains on outdoor surfaces, but will not completely remove them. While not endorsed or guaranteed by Scotts, the following products have been shown to work on regular concrete and are registered for this use. Before using any commercial cleaning products, such as those listed below, to remove stains test the product on a small area to see if the product will fade or damage the stained surface. Most stain removal products work best with two applications. If the moss is not actively growing, either due to improper time of year or temperatures being too high, the product will not work. if there is a heavy rain (1"+) within 2 days of application, the product may have been washed off. If the lawn was dry, the product will not stick to the moss or grass blades. The more moss that is exposed, the better the coverage. so mow the lawn before applying. This can happen if the product is applied at the wrong time (ie: moss was not actively growing) or the temperatures were too hot for the product to work. There are two application rates on the package. A regular rate and a heavy rate that should be used for heavy infestations. We recommend applying to damp foliage in order for the product to stick to the moss or grass blades. The more moss that is exposed the better the coverage.
