I have been using scotts weed and feed for the last year faithfully. I am not happy i have done exactly what the directions say. I have more junk weeds in my yard than i have ever had before. I am very unhappy with all the time effort and money Ihave put into these products.

All your lawn products are awesome. My yards were in bad shape last year. After using the fertilizer as suggested my yards are green and healthy and full. It’s mid November snd my yards look just as good now as they did in spring. The drought fertilizer is a wonderful product. I live in a drought area , south Texas, and I didn’t need to water as much this summer as in the past.

My first application to my grass was in April 2021 with Scotts Green Max, and the 2 and 3rd applications. In between, I utilized Ortho weed control and Scotts Patchmaster for St. Augustine grass. This past Saturday, I applied Winterguard to help throughout the winter season and have a new bag of Green Max ready for Spring Break. I cut my yard and I am so proud of my yard. It is plushy, a deep green and the envy of the neighborhood. The brown areas you see on the city side are crabgrass that was removed as a last resort for the winter and it is replaced now with Miracle-Gro soil and St. Augustine Scotts Patchmaster. I know the St. Augustine grass will catch on because it has proved itself throughout the year applications. Thank you Scotts, you have a very happy customer and will keep moving forward with your products.

After firing my so called lawn service who states they are the prime supplier for PGA I took on the task of doing my own maintenance. Got lots of sound advice from my local Grounds Superintendent at our local course and proceeded to utilize the Scott’s program which includes the winter guard feeding. Well with tlc and determination the photos say it all and those other folks can well…… I can’t print what I want to say !!!

House had no lawn. Weeds, clumps. In Vermont, was going to sod but could not find anyone to do it. Tried weed and feed. Took a couple of seasons. But remarkable.

I have always used Scott’s Step 1-4 Program as well and Weed & Feed, I tried the summer guard and went from having a nice green lawn to yellow and burned. I followed the application and watering suggestions.

I've always kept a nice lawn by seeding each year, using fertilizer, bug control, and weed control. I wanted to be a little more consistent with my treatments so I decided to give Scotts annual program a shot. I was very happy with the fall, early spring, and spring treatments. I had one of the best looking yard on the block and was getting a lot of compliments from the neighbors. This all came to an end after I applied the Summerguard product in mid/late June. I started noticing dead spots in my front and back yard and watering didn't seem to help. I live in St Louis and we do get extreme hot weather during July and August but I have never seen anything like this. We went on vacation in early August and when we got home after a week, our lawn was basically dead. I've reached out to Scotts to see what can be done but I would assume I'll be reseeding this fall and starting over with different products. You can tell by the photo that all the untreated lawns around me look 100 times better than my yard.

To protect my nice green grassy yard, purchased your SummerGuard and followed directions!! As pictures show, it ruined my yard by turning spots Brown. Any suggestions after sending a refund for the 15,000 sq.’ Coverage bag??

I purchased two bags 5000 SQ Ft of the Scotts Turf Builder Summer Guard with Insect Control and applied it to my yard almost three weeks ago. There have been zero improvements...if anything, the conditions are worse!

I purchased a bag of Turf Builder SummerGuard lawn food rated for 15,000 sq ft. My lawn is appx. 10,000 sq ft. I set my Scotts AccuGreen drop spreader to the recommended setting of 8 1/2. I had completed about 5,000 sq ft and would not have enough product to finish the application. To complete the job I purchased a second bag rated for 5,000 sq ft and lowered the spreader setting from 8 1/5 to 6. I was able to complete the job with a small amount left over. Since the application several brown spots have shown up. On the package lable in big letters it states "WONT BURN LAWN GUARANTEED!" I am disappointed in the fact that it has burnt my lawn in spots and that the recommended setting was totally off and may end up with much more burnt lawn from over application due to using the recommended setting.

I have 42000 sq ft and I applied this a week ago. I have a John Deere pull behind broadcast spreader for my 1988 44” craftsman riding mower and a John Deere walk behind broadcast spreader for around the house. I applied it on dry grass and waited several days for it to rain. I had to make 2 passes over the field as I had the spreader set a little conservative. It has now rained a couple of days and no problems. I am not a professional but looking at the lawns that had problems there appears to me to be a pattern in the grass. Improper spreader use with the patches that look to be in turn around points or in the case of huge burn it appears to have been over applied. I have Zoysia grass and while I was loading the spreaders I saw now clumping in the material as it had been moist. I would be interested in knowing the reasons for the problems. I have attached a couple of pix of my lawn a week after application. I will post some more in a couple of weeks.

Just put it down so time will tell how it does fir my Zoysia sod.

I use all Scott products & this was the 1yr I used the Summerguard. Within one week, my green lawn now looks like this. I used a Scotts turf builder applicator as indicated. So much for guaranteed to not burn your lawn. Took me two years to get my lawn to where I wanted it

I put this on my lawn here in Texas about a week and a half ago and immediately afterwards it rains for 5 days straight. Now my lawn is burnt so badly it looks like hay. How in the world do I fix this mess and fast? I want my money back or the product needed to fix this mess for free to cover my burnt lawn sqft 4100.

I live in Texas where the sun tends to keep my yard looking dry and yellow. I wasn’t sure what to do so I did some research online and came across the Scotts Turf Builder. I also purchased the automatic spreader and it worked amazing. I only needed one bag to cover my front and back yard. I’m just a few weeks my lawn looks amazing. I changed my sprinkler to water two times a day (6am and 6pm) for 15 (~3 min per zone). I’m elated with the results and will be using Scott’s products all year round.

I put this down at the beginning of August, by the beginning of September my yard has gone completely brown. The grass went from one of the greenest on the street to absolute trash.

Unfortunately I did not see the newer reviews about this product when I purchased. I looked at the reviews but they had the oldest and best reviews listed first. After I used the product and started getting brown patches all over my lawn I researched again and then found the newer reviews stating this product leaves burnt patches in your lawn. There is no excuse for this when it is suppose to protect your lawn but instead kills it. After maintaining my lawn and spending money on keeping if healthy and green this product comes along and kills it. Will never use AGAIN!!!!! What is worse is Scott's is aware of the problem and are still selling this product. Read Less

Applied in early July and grass was fuller and greener then last summer even with a mild drought.

We went from a nice green lawn to yellow and brown hay in a matter of days. We spent much of this Spring fixing patches that had died since the lawn was seeded over two years ago. Tons of time spent and it was finally perfect. No patches and all strong green, healthy grass. Decided to be proactive and give it an extra kick before late Fall weed n' feed. Chose the product because it explicitly states no burn possibility. Weather hovered around 80-88 over last week when this was applied - package states that can be applied June -Aug (which in most of the lower 48 states will always be above 85!) and definitely in the mid-Atlantic region where we are). Large burn patches began to appear within 48 hours. We have had a wet week - some to a lot of rain daily. But still it gets worse! See photos - one of the bad areas and one of an area of lawn that I did not put product on because I ran out prior to getting to it. Looking to the 'bad' photo you can also see the other neighbors across street whose lawns looked similar to ours PRIOR to application. I should add that the massive number of patches in the one photo are accumulating more daily and they are getting wider every morning since application

i tried the summer gaurd product on my beautiful lawn for the first time in 4 years ive owned my home. Reading it wont burn grass and keep lawn green in summer months. Well i never should have, in staed of having lighter green grass like i usaully have in summer, its not burned up, dead and will take alot of work to redo. I used this scotts summer gaurd end of may, seemed fine, i redid end of july and now my whole lawn looks camo of dead grass, yellow and brown dead grass. Used exactly as directed, watered as recommended. 2 weeks and a few days later i have a ruined lawn. Tons of my money, time and hard work wasted. APPLY AT YOUR OWN RISK

Bought this product because I've used Scott's products before so I thought why not. It says won't burn grass guaranteed but unfortunately it did and I follow the instructions to the T on how and when to apply. Not too happy!

I started using the Scotts 4 step program at the beginning of the season, finished the 3rd step a few weeks ago, and the difference is way beyond what I thought was possible. I had a horrible looking lawn, now it looks professional. Highly recommend.

We've used Scotts over the years, both when we owned a home n San Diego and now living in Ohio. Scotts always works GREAT for us. We always have one of the GREENEST lawns on the block. Very happy with the product and will continue using. Definitely recommend this product to others...

I only buy Scott’s shade/sun seed. I use their fall fertilizer and get a thick green lawn every spring. I wanted to try this summer fertilizer on my green lawn to keep it green. I noticed the neighbors turning brown. I watered thoroughly for three days in the early morning. I started noticed brown lines on day three. I started to water more, but I can’t believe how bad it is now. I’m very upset and stressed out looking at it. I’m just going to keep watering and hope to flush out the burn

Started applying the Scott lawn plan to maintain my brand new lawn. After applying the Scott Summer guard product my yard was no long the talk of the street. I’m was so disappointed that all the work I put in this fall to end up with a beautiful lawn was a waste after applying summer guard.

I've been using Scott's various seasonal fertilizers for the past 18 months on my Kentucky Blue grass lawn. My lawn was looking pretty decent since mid-spring, but after putting down this "Summer Guard" fertilizer and a little rain, within 7 days, my lawn has never looked better. The ratio of NPK 20 - 0 - 8 has really made my lawn healthy. I'm extremely satisfied with this product and will definitely use it again later this summer.

I bought this stuff with the hopes like everyone else, that it would protect my new lawn from heat damage. Well was I wrong. My once beautiful lawn is now burnt and had yellow streaks in numerous places, despite the fact that I have an irrigation system that waters my lawn twice daily. I’m very disappointed in this product.

I wish I had read these reviews instead of trusting the Scotts name. Applied this product as described. The results? Yellow streaks and dead spots all over my small urban yard (see below). Based on the recent reviews here over the last 2 weeks it looks like there was a bad batch. Doesn't change the fact this product turned my lawn from "beautiful" to "beast" in 4 days. Will never use this particular product again. Now it is time for Scotts to stand behind their "won't burn lawn guaranteed" and refund more than just the purchase price or this is one customer that will be lost for life.

I tried a subscription service this year. Applied turf builder and my yard looks like brown and yellow hay! It was a beautiful scene now my neighbors drive by and ask what happened. Not sure if I can salvage the grass or will need to start over. Stay away and provide a refund!

I use this product annually on my lawn and it does an excellent job at keeping my lawn healthy looking through the hot summer months. I recently purchased some bags for this year's application and when I opened the bags, a terrible smell was emitted and the product looked damp and clumpy. Generally the product is a light, blondish, yellowish color. The product I purchased was dark with a blackish tint. Not sure if the product had been sitting on the store shelf for years or what, but I was not satisfied with this specific product that I purchased.
