Just stopped. Replaced batteries. Took apart to check wiring Motor runs. Spreader motor will not function when depressed

Ran one time added batteries still desd
Scott's should be a shame of themselves building, marking, packaging and shipping out crappy products like this! Just a piece of junk!! Trust me, you'll buy this crap and take it back the next day!! Died on the spot!!!

Make sure lock on top of handle is in unlocked (forward) position so you can fully engage the trigger. Check the Rotor Plate (green spinning thing that throws the product out to the front of the spreader). There should be a gap between the orange Edgeguard part that is directly under the hopper and the top of the cylinder portion of the green rotor plate. The bottom of the cylinder portion should be resting on the black washer like piece. Check the batteries to make sure they are in correct way (alternating directions with negative end touching spring) and there is no corrosion on the batteries or in the battery compartment. Check if you can easily manually turn the rotor plate.

This is the largest scam ever!
This is the largest piece of junk I have EVER purchased!!!!! Save your money, it's a complete rip off. It only works if there is no seed in it. I put 1 pound of wildflower seeds and it wouldn't run...with fresh batteries. I got so angry and frustrated, I threw it against my shed. I will NEVER buy another Scotts product again.

Found some issues
I purchased it new, used it for 5 min and it had no power, stalled out, etc. Replaced batteries with the same result. I took it apart. While apart the unit runs strong. As soon as I screw it together again it stalls out. I narrowed it down to an alignment issue between the sprocket on the hopper auger and the sprocket on the spreader. I could not rectify the alignment issue so I screwed it together so that just the spreader works now. The auger would be nice but it binds up the motor.

Something in wiring circuit causes loss of power when/ if case is touched on bottom. Tried to loosen screws but it did not help. IMHO Try it before you purchase.

Great value for money
I used it to spread grub preventor in my yard and it worked very well. Controls are good, and it saved pain in my hands from cranking. It also worked better than a wheeled spreader on hills and tight spots.

Scotts Wizz bad wire connection.
I am giving the Wizz a rating of 3 only because I fixed it, and should have had to. From the day I purchased it, it refused to work for more than 10 seconds. Replaced batteries 3 or 4 times. No luck. Finally after taking the bottom off, I found the problem to be a poor connection with the white wire. It has a small plug in connector, and the wire is loose in it, and it fails to make contact. I had to glue mine in for it to work. If you have a Scotts Wizz and you are having trouble, it is probably this wire.

Clogs
Last year worked well no clogging. This year clogs when it’s full and required me to shake it which is not good when applying pretty much anything.

Battery replacement must be an easy way to do it. 4 screws must be unscrewed to replace unlike one in the previous model.Battery terminal’s get corroded if the battery is not replaced in a timely manner.
