Disappointing to say the least.
I purchased this pressure washer expecting reliable performance, but it stopped working after just 60 minutes of use. While pressure washing a bolt on the pumped sheeted and the pump split and water was geysering out. When I tried to claim my warranty again, on a brand new machine with one hour of use, I faced bad customer service. The repair shop I was told to take it to says they no longer work with Simpson because Simpson takes up to three months to repose or them to start a customer repair claim or they receive no response. I call Simpson back to see if I can have the shop bill me and have Simpson pay me directly but Simpson rep said it doesn’t work that way. So To add insult to injury, I would have been charged $200 for a repair that should have been covered. And now since I have had the washer for over 90 days I am not able to return for a refund. Save your money and avoid this product and company.

    Rexeived in poor condition
Upon opening box it appeared that at some point it had been stored or transported in an icorrct manner. All the parts inside were in disarray and the engine oil container had been punctured so all items were covered in oil and insice of box was saturated. Hopefully this does not affect the product or longevity of the hoses.

Damaged Pressure Washer Delivered with loose parts in the box
I wish i could rate this Pressure Washer zero, but to take the review, the system need at least 1 star. I read some low ratings about this washer about quality control and shipping damage. Now count me as another victim. The output thread of the pump is damaged and the pressure adjustment knob looks like it broke off the pump somehow. My hose has marks on it, looks like burns and i found a nut at the bottom of the box and can’t see a but missibg on the washer. I contacted Simpson Product Support and the parent comoany. I hear their customer service is not good but am hopeful. I will continue this rating in Google. Hoping for the best. So much for pressure washing my property before memorial day!!!

        2nd Used Producct
After a bunch of research, I decided to spend a little extra and get a great power washer. But this is my 2nd one and another used one which is actually in worse shape than the first one. I will at least save the $5 of gas I put in the last one before returning. Im really disappointed in HD allowing this machine out the door when the box literally fell apart when lifting it

          Assembled in America, with issues.
Received my pressure washer with rattling sounds and loose items. Upon unboxing the motor was hanging in there with two bolts barely tightened, one bolt just hanging out and another bolt and nut completely off. Not a great start. Got everything put together properly, added oil, ran the machine for 1 hour and 20 minutes and noticed oil dripping out the from the front motor mount pan. Certainly not a great product and disappointed in the USA assembly as stated on the sticker. Look elsewhere

            Do not purchase
Had problems with backfiring, took it to a dealer. The dealer mentioned that the pressure washer wasn't designed properly the engine was too small for the pump they turned down unloader valve so now it's putting out 2,600 PSI. I changed the spark plug from another suggested review. That helped went to change the oil for the first time had problems getting the drain plug out the drain plug should be easy peasy as you can see from the pictures the drain plug is not set Over the Hole. Will never purchase another Simpson again, since I received the run around after calling on the phone.

Engine is bolted to the wrong frame. I bought the same one from Tractor Supply as well and it was delivered the same way. Waste of time and money. After speaking with customer service they were unaware and had no fix. I had to return both. Poor quality control.

Great machine overall. Never settle for vertical shaft pressure washers if you want one to live longer then 2 years. This is a great pressure washer and pump. Highly recommend for someone who uses it more then just twice a year.

                So Far, So Good
This item was purchased to clean mostly concrete surfaces around a business complex. I have only had it a few days but have already put about 6 hours of operation on it. So far, very pleased with the pressure washer. The two photographs are of a concrete area in front of a dumpster cage which was almost black with grime. As you can see, it did a good job of cleaning the concrete. I will say that, as many others have mentioned, the Honda GX200 seems somewhat finicky to start. Most of my gas powered equipment from lawn mowers to generators are Honda and they usually start on one pull. Not this engine. I followed the enclosed "Supplemental Starting Instructions" that came with it. Still took a number of pulls and messing with the choke, throttle, etc. to fire up. Once warm though, it starts fine. It's early, but so far the thing works very well

My first pressure washer and I am glad I bought it. I recently retired and have more time to do work around the home. My sidewalk and driveway were long over due for cleaning. The last time I had it done it was a few hundred dollars and they did a great job but I figured if I did it myself that would pay for the machine with just a couple of uses. Very simple to set up with clear instructions, It started after about 3 pulls on the cord and I was happy with that as I had never used one before and was not quite sure how much throttle and choke to use but it was not a problem. I added a surface washer and it did a great job. I will post a picture of one spot with a before and after.

The Only Reason I'm not giving it a 5 Stars is because of a few small things that I think make it better for service. One, the location of the Engine Oil Drain Plug. No where in the instructions or manual did it list the bolt and thread pitch of the drain plug. I had to figure it out on my own, then was looking for an adapter to go from 10mm to 1/4 NPT to pipe the drain away from the frame to a location to collect the oil being drained for service, yet still being protect from any damage while using the unit. ended up ordering "on-line" a "Drainit" extension hose from Home Depot (Didn't like that it was not in stock in the store). Some of the other reasons; the unit did not come with a Engine "Hour Meter" which the service manual refers to Engine Hours Run" to determine when to check or service the Engine Oil, Spark Plug, Air Filter Element, etc. Also, the Pressure Wand is not secured to the side of the unit and falls out when moving the unit around to place in the location you want to use it at. I ended up making a custom bracket for the Pressure Wand, and ordered a aftermarket "Hour Meter" and installed it on the unit. I also made an bracket to secured a plastic bottle to hold cleaning solution to put the suction tube into it. I made a "Check Sheet" for operations and service and laminated to protect it and attached it to the unit. These are not Home Depot fault, but maybe someone could inform Simpson (FNA) about these small items that would put the unit over the top against the other manufactures. I am now very happy with the out come and look forward to using the Simpson Powershot Power Washer very soon. I submitted the photographs with the correct orientation however, they somehow did not load the same way. I have much more photographs but could not load all of them. I purchased the unit on Saturday, April 12, 2020 and spoke with Home Depot representative "Rich" in Texas and he was very helpful with answering my questions. At first I was looking at a DeWalt Power Washer however, Rich said the ones I was looking at were not available. He was able to provide additional brands and after he providing me with information, I selected the Simpson "Powershot" 3300 PSI, 2.5 Gallon Power Washer. I received the unit on April 20th and filled out the "On-Line" Registration on April 21st with Simpson. I have been ordering the Oil Drain Hose and Hour Meter and other items and have been taking my time to make sure I set the unit up with all the additions the way I want them. Its now May 6th and I Plain on adding the Engine Oil to the motor and fuel and firing it up and testing it out. Looking forward to using it very shortly.

Set up is easy and the product works as it should. Pros: Power, easy start, small and compact, efficient design layout for use Cons: I wish the hose was longer and not as stiff. I wish the connection to the garden hose came out a little farther so you could turn both the connection and the garden hose. This thing is compact and you have to basically tilt it vertically to get it up stairs, which leaves you lifting up most of the 82lbs of weight. Overall very happy with my purchase.

I have used this pressure washer about 20 times so far. Pros: good pressure, well designed, very quiet, smooth running once it warms up. Starts easy; most times 1 pull does it. Hose is well made and doesn't hold a memory when uncoiled. Cons: AAA pump gets extremely hot after only a short time (10 min +) at 30 min the water will vaporize off the pump. I can't see how the pump can last long at those temps. While the hose is well made its way to short for washing a standard sized vehicle. At that price range a 30' hose would be expected. So far the pressure washer is performing as expected.

Washer has worked pretty well thus far (3-4 uses in 2 months), but the thermal relief valve popped while the machine was off and hadn't been used in over an hour. Had to steal an old valve off my old washer so that I could finish what I needed to. Upon my next use about two weeks later, a bubble began to develop in my hose. Called customer support on both items and they said they could send me a new hose, but told me I would have to take my unit in to a repair shop to determine if the thermal relief valve issue was warrantied or not. They said the nearest repair shop was in Baytown which is about an hour from my house. It would cost more in gas for me to drive my unit to the repair shop than it would be to just order a new thermal relief valve online, so that's a little bit frustrating.

What a beast!!! I bought this unit after borrowing my dad's greenworks 2000 PSI electric pressure washer which is nice and a little quiet than this unit if the unit is not at full throttle, but there is no comparison. This unit is a beast, easily handles anything you throw at it. As a matter of fact I was using this unit at maybe 1/4 throttle 85% of the time. I've only used this machine twice but I know that is it heavy duty and its going to last me years to come. The one thing I don't like is the pressure hose, compared to the electric unit it is way more rigid and thicker. Now I understand that it has to be able to handle 4200 PSI so it can't be as flexible as lower pressure units but it seems to be high quality, time will tell. I've used this machine with a stainless steel 15 inch surface cleaner and with 3/4 throttle the surface cleaner would literally take off!! The engine starts at the first pull and you don't even have to pull hard to start it, also the engine is super quiet, I thought that it was going to be loud but honestly is very quiet at half throttle or less which honestly is all you are going to need except for surface cleaners you might need a little extra throttle, you can't go wrong with the reliability of a Honda engine. I don't know anything about water pumps but this one seems to be for heavy duty use, again time will tell. This unit has exceed my expectations and I would highly recommend this unit if you want to do professional pressure cleaning!!

Bought the Simpson 4240 at Lowes along with a Surface Cleaner. First use was our front driveway and side walks - the combo did a GREAT job. Between the Simpson's high pressure/high volume output with a stainless steel 15 " surface cleaner - the job went quickly with wonderful results.

Don't buy the Simpson PS3228 power washer. Better yet, maybe don't even do business with this company due to tactics regarding warranty. I often see reviews posted by people after owning something for only a short period of time and I wonder how the product will hold up for the long haul. So here's my experience with this Simpson PS3228 pressure washer and the Simpson company. Maybe it was help someone from ending up in my situation. I bought the PS3228 in November 2015 and it had a problem with the unloader valve since it was new. What I didn't realize is what I was experiencing meant the unloader valve wasn't working. When the system was running if I released the trigger on the sprayer, after only a few seconds pressure would build up in the system and kill the motor. When starting the motor even If I pulled the rope too many times trying to start it, pressure would build up in the pump to the point I couldn't pull the rope. I had to pull the trigger on the sprayer to release the pressure so I could resume pulling the rope to start the motor. I didn't recognize this as a sign of a bad unloader valve. I thought it was a normal characteristic of the system. I just made sure I never stopped spraying for more than a couple of seconds when using the system. I later learned this is a symptom of a bad unloader valve. (I saw another reviewer had the exact same issue so it sounds like it's not an uncommon problem with this pump.) Fast forward to July 2018. In the middle of pressure washing a deck the pump quit working. It was like someone flipped a switch. One second it was spraying fine then there was nothing. Poof. I took it into an authorized service dealer. I was told the pump is bad. The dealer contacted Simpson and was told the pump has a 1 year warranty. What? Wait a minute. The owner's manual and Simpson website both list a 5 year pump warranty. I called Simpson but was told the service dealer has to make the arrangements for warranty service. The consumer can't do anything. So here I am caught in the middle of the run around game between a rock and a hard place. I have a pressure washer that's not working and documentation showing a 5 year pump warranty but the dealer says it's 1 year. I'm told a pump will cost nearly $400. Ouch. This for a pressure washer I've only used 4 to 5 times, looks brand new, and has always been stored indoors in a climate controlled environment. What's a homeowner to do? I was told I can go back to the dealer, we can get the Simpson warranty folks on the phone while I'm there and try to work this out. But as I homeowner/consumer I can't speak to the warranty folks directly. So if you're contemplating a PS3228 keep looking. Even if there are problems a manufacturer should honor their warranty.

Great powerful and adjustable with simplicity in mind. Spend the money once not twice. Built strong with a great warranty to go with it. This one is more than the others but your getting a great pressure washer to use for home or busines.

I have used it to clean my driveway and house. It worked very good and with the use of a turbo nozzle I was able to clean my driveway faster than I could with a 3500psi 2.5GPM unit. It will take the paint right off your deck or stairs if your not carful. I plan on repainting anyway so it was fine by me. Next time I want to rent a surface cleaner for my driveway and this pressure washer should have more than enough power to use it.

                            Super Blasting Power!
I have two ot this Hydro Blasters, we cleaned TWO Cooling Towers in Two Days only using the rotating tip. The project was scheduled for fur days, so we didi it in half the time. Definitely this is a great source of equipment for your job. Very efficient gasoline engine gives you four to five hours for one full tank (Amazing)!!!
