This 16 inch square planter was purchased for one reason. My wife loves smaller type palm trees. We needed a planter with a lot of volume. And one that would not tip over in a strong wind. This planter really does the job. It is built strong. Pleasing to look at. Even has a removable drain plug in the bottom so you don't have to drill your own drain holes. She loves this planter. And I recomend it.

The planters color has some flaws in the paint job. You can tell that it was painted white after the planter was black to begin with. The planter has a drain plug in the bottom of it for drainage. You must remove this plug or your plant will become waterlogged. The planter has a nice design on it. We are waiting for the DOUBLE KNOCKOUT ROSES we ordered to come in or I would have had some pictures.

The planter is light weight. The planter has a nice design. The color is great, a gloss black. There is a plug in the bottom of the planter for drainage. You must remove this plug or your planter won’t drain and your plant will wind up getting waterlogged. My wife has ordered some DOUBLE KNOCKOUT ROSES for the planter that we are waiting on, so I don’t have any pictures of the planter with plants in it.

This is an elegant planter that has the weight and feel of ceramic. It is beautifully finished in glossy black and has a simple, yet up-scale, decorative design. The product is very well crafted, including being fully finished on the inside. A rubber plug seals off the drain hole in the bottom. The bottom design includes small reliefs on each side to allow water to drain out and away from underneath the planter; a thoughtful touch.

Got to say that I LOVE this planter!! It's a bit larger than I thought it would be, but is true to the dimensions specified. I especially like that it's heavy enough not to blow over in a high wind, but not so heavy that you need a dolly to lift it and move it around. The removable drain plug in the bottom is also great in case you want to use it indoors... which it is totally attractive enough to use indoors!! in fact, I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to actually use it outdoors or just replace the large pot that the fake tree in my office is currently in.

This is a very attractive planter that also comes in several other colors. It is coated black on the interior for waterproofing and has a drain hole in the bottom and a rubber plug to allow several types of uses. At 16" wide it could also be used for storing kindling, small firewood, or magazines in the home. It is light and easy to move around but filled with potting soil and plants would be pretty heavy. It is made in China and seems to be of good quality. I am happy with the appearance and quality of the planter and would recommend it.

Later in the season the flowers will overshadow the planter, but until then, you notice the planters right away. Not too heavy, but definitely sturdy. Looks great, and frankly I cannot wait for spring to get these filled with young new plants to watch grown over the summer season. Nice job, great look, great planter, great value.

We recently got the Colony 16 in. diameter Chinchilla Resin Composite Square Planter to go on the front porch. We have had two planters before this that toppled over due to high winds. This planter is heavier than others we have had and has the low profile to be more stable. The resin planter holds up well and allows for several planting options. The depth is good for larger plants and allows enough room down the sides for trailing plants as well. The color is muted, though a bit glossy. Overall, we are pleased with our choice and have been plotting out what plants we want in it.

The planter has a absolutely beautiful blood red color that matched our house shutters. I like that the planter is made from resin and weighs about 15.5 pounds which is not bad considering if it were made of concrete it would be triple the weight. The front of the planter has a embossed flower design to give it a distinctive look. The inside of the planter is huge for planting plenty of flowers and has a drain plug that can be removed for drainage.

Ordered this planter to transplant one of my wife's crape myrtle bushes. The size of this planter allows for plenty of growth without worrying about the plant becoming root bound. The size allows for plenty of potting soil. The container has a nice large drain hole in the center of the bottom allowing for proper drainage. It also comes with a rubber plug so that the drain can be stopped up if desired. The color is really nice and the design is stylish and looks really well in any garden.

Ordered these so that my wife could re-pot her two crape myrtle bushes. These planters are nice and deep so that they will hold plenty of soil and allow for large bush growth without worrying about the bush becoming root bound. They are painted black on the inside and the color on the outside is properly applied. The planter has a nice large drain plug in the center of the base. It comes with a rubber plug that can be left in or removed however you want it. Good value and nice design!

I got this for our outdoor patio in the summertime to grow my herbs, plants and perhaps even a small citrus tree. I like this planter because it looks ceramic and heavy but it's rather lightweight and won't break when one of my dogs or kids invariable knocks it over. The color is nice and goes well with any color patio furniture we have. I definitely recommend this as a functional, light weight sturdy outdoor planter.

Just received the Southern Patio 16" chinchilla square planter. Arrived very well packaged in great condition. The color is not chinchilla (brown) it's more of a brownish/green hue. The outside has embossed two toned decoration on all sides and the planter itself has a framed look on top and bottom made of the composite material. It's a very sturdy and heavier weight planter. It would hold a topiary or small evergreen tree easily. No pre-drilled drainage holes but can easily be done with a drill. It sits evenly on a concrete patio. Not wobbly at all. Attractive planter. It would look nice flanking the front door, the garage door or on the deck or patio.

Wow!! This is so, so, so nice! It looks so expensive and the quality is superior. There is a plug that you can pull out for drainage at the bottom-center of the planter. It's a good weight and does have a "Gloss" sheen which really adds to the overall Aesthetics of this planter. Pictures don't do justice and if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would :)

The COLONY 16 IN. DIA BLACK RESIN COMPOSITE SQUARE PLANTER is beautiful planter that will look great in any environment. I plan to use it on my patio where it is certain to garner some compliments. It is beautifully crafted and while not as heavy as ceramic planters, it seems to be quite durable. The drainage plug in the bottom is a nice addition. Be sure to place it where you want because once it is filled with dirt and plants, it will be quite heavy!

I really didn't expect this resin composite planter to be as thick and well made as it is. The finish is smooth and beautiful and gives it the appearance of a fine crafted wooden planter, but without the required maintenance of wood. The resin is very rigid and strong and will have zero trouble handling the amount of dirt it needs to hold for the size planter that it is. It does not have any drain holes in the bottom and that will keep your porch or deck or even any inside location from getting wet and dirty from drainage. But it would be very simple to drill a few holes in the bottom if that is going to suit your purposes and location better. Any of the Southern Patio Resin Composite Planters should give your many years service and satisfaction. The only complaint I have is the way its inside the box, its a pain in the rump to get it out of the box, but its really protected well for shipping!
