I replaced a 50 year old retractable extension cord because retractor no longer functioned properly. The cord was a flat cord and 20 feet long. The new cord is 10 feet longer and a round cord so it doesn’t hang up on a bumper. This is a single plus so plugs easily into my blower. It also has a cord lock, so no longer have to tie off the cord to stop from unplugging. My only regret? I did not purchase this item sooner! Expensive item but worth it. If lasts 50 years like my old one, then cost is $2.00 a year. Install time: it took longer to grab the ladder and put the ladder away. If you have the S hook in your pocket, install take 60 seconds. Dont forget to grab your plyers to close the S hook. Independent review and I was not paid for this review

Easy to mount on my garage ceiling. Good replacement for the long outdoor extension cord, since it stays out of the way as I work. Great reel- works as advertised.

Liked the first one I bought that I decided to add another one to my garage. It is sop nice to have an extension cord that rolls up and is out of the way when not needed. I like the locking mechanism when I add another extension cord it keeps the cords connected so that they do not pull part when in use. Its saves the frustration when a cord pulls apart at the plugs when using them.

Tried this on multiple outlets that I verified are working; product would not power anything. Searched for a breaker on the unit, nothing. How does a simple device like this just NOT WORK? Absolute junk.

The internal ratchet mechanism doesn’t work properly and allows the extension cord to retract while you’re trying to use it

Easy to install. Great quality as well. You really can't go wrong with Southwire products.

Good metal cover and thick cable. Locking plug works. A bit On the heavy side.

I was a little Leary at first that the rewinder coil would either would be too strong and pull my arm out ,or too weak and fail to retract when It should. It worked perfectly. It small and I wall mounted it up high and is out of the way. I’m very pleased with this product. Wish I had one years ago. It would have saved me a lot of frustration untangling extension cords

Occasionally get a hick up with the return but does eventually go back, Metal, well built case.

Online it says it is rated for indoor/outdoor use. When it came in the reel was clearly marked for indoor use only. Was purchased for outdoors so had to return.

COULD NOT USE THIS PURCHASE BECAUSE IT COULD NOT BE PLUGED INTO AN EXTENSION CHOOD !!!

So far so good, really want to see how it performs this winter in the snow and ice.

High quality product looks like it will last many years.
