No issues with this cat5e. Used it to wire exterior and interior. Seems very durable got a special staple gun to run cable outside and thru interior. Also super helpful have a cable running stick for attic and other similar applications.

Easy to work with and had zero problems. May house is now properly wired with CAT5 drops in all rooms that need it.

I only used it as phone wire using one twisted pair. It worked well for that.

I needed some outdoor wire to hand some security cameras. The wire will be mostly hidden in my soffits and such, but a section needs to run where it will be exposed to temperature and moisture, not much if any sun. I wish this were white, it would have solved issues hiding it better, but it is what it is. So others say this goes bad quickly, kind of confused how that is if the ends weather sealed the outer sheathing should hold up. Maybe UV over time, but if this is real outdoor cable it should handle UV. What I don't like about this cable is the overall cable diameter is smaller than other Cat 5e I am using. I attribute this to the outer sheathing being very thin. It almost seems too thin and fragile so I suspect that is when it will cause issues over time. This created issues when I wen tot use Cat 5e wire staples that make a perfect fit for other cables, but this cable flops around in it. Price is not bad for a 500 foot roll so we will see what happens. I also wish it had footage markings on it so I knew how much I either used to have left, so this is a crap shoot. So far in a pinch this will work, if it gives me issues I will order better online.

Its laughable that this has outdoor on the box. It usually lasts less than 6 months outdoors.

I'm just a student and I use this cable to transfer electric and data to some outdoor wifi router through POE port with cable length sometime up to 100ft on top of the roof (no cover). They've been working for more than a year and we have no problem at all.

Good wire. No issues. It was nicely marked with ft markings every two ft in each direction. Showing essentially how much was left and how much was used.

Used it to establish a hard wired communications link between my house and shop. I am a DIY'er and had never worked with this stuff before. Pulled two cables for spare/future expansion. Easy-peasy went off without a hitch, from an online order/one-stop shopping experience.

Easy to install, just have to be careful that it doesn't. bind and twist up.

As a network technitian I can tell that this cable is soft and very bad quality

So for a long time HD carried a different brand and I liked it a lot better. This has no FEET Markers...plus it turns grey...it starts out brown...then turns gray! However I run video and low power over it and it does GREAT..so if you need to walk the distance and don't care the color it will work for you.

I didn't get to test the actual cable - unlike the item pictured, HD ran off 500' from an 18,000 (!!) foot spool and loaded it on giant wooden spools to ship to me. (You read that right - on the side of the cable, I got feet 12,230 - 12,730 of 18,000) Since it isn't in a pull box it isn't useful to me. The spools were whoppers, too. 13" tall and just shy of 20" wide. Not only impossible to pull from, but inconvenient to store after you are finished!

I have been working in Information Technology for 20 years and have run as well as tipped more than my fair share of cat 5 cable. The price is great, delivered fast, ran smooth out of the box and was easy to tip. Since it is solid strand be careful of kinking. No issues with indoor or outdoor use as I ran it for external IP Power over Ethernet security cameras

I was surprised to see Cat-5e wiring at Home Depot. I normally have to go to a specialty data communication wire supply shop for this and buy a minimum of 1000 feet. The price per foot was a little higher, but I only needed about 250 feet so it ended up cheaper. The cable connects two buildings and has endured temperatures from 95 to 60 degrees, sunny days, wet weather and a few thunderstorms.

Southwire outdoor grade wire is the best product for the price that I have found.

I ran 50ft and the attenuation was so bad that the link was unusable. I then cut the 50ft into 10ft lengths. At 10ft the cable is acceptable. I would not recommend runs much longer. The pairs are not sufficiently twisted. Perhaps one of the worst cables I could have possibly selected for the task. I should have known this would not do the trick when I untwisted the pairs. I recall thinking at the time "That was easy - perhaps too easy." In a hurry and purchased anyway. Sure enough. The jacket appears to be of good enough quality for outdoor use as it is the same as many other cables I have used outdoors. Due to attenuation I had to buy another type.

This stuff kinks like you wouldnt believe. Very difficult to run long lengths of it and not have it kink. Shell is very thin. In my opinion, it should be half the price it sells at for as cheap as it is.
