We purchased this jewel post for a basement renovation as an upgrade for the smaller one our contractor provided. So glad we did!!! It made the stairs feel so much more substantial - so happy with this choice!

Defective cap.
Purchased two from store to reduce chances of damage in transit. The decorative cap is enclosed in cardboard for protection and, to avoid damage, I did not remove it until after the post was screwed in place. Once removed, it was obvious that the decorative cap, made up of several pieces had been installed so crooked that it was very obvious. It took me a couple Of hours to take it apart and reinstall it. Quality control is lacking. Buyers should remove protective materials and examine post for defects and damage before installing. My bad.

Hello, thank you for letting us know about this issue. That box newel, for whatever reason, is defective and should be returned for a full refund, or exchanged or replaced with a new box newel. We're sorry that this issue caused a delay in your project.

only issue was the two we purchased where not identical....
only issue was the two we purchased where not identical. they where in same lot but tops where slightly different but thanks to great contractor he made them close enough to work. materials very good
