I bought the large sized doggy door for my 80 pound lab. Very pleased with the quality of the door. It feels quite heavy duty and installed to an air tight fit- even with the latest Blizzard 2016 to hit Washington metro area. The dog door itself is of very good quality and does a nice job of seining back to its closing position and keeping the cold air out. It has a heavy plastic cover to close it off - which slides in and snaps into place easily. I might of preferred a metal cover- for more security- but it is certainly not a deal breaker on this as the over quality is excellent. Installation of a pre-hung takes some skills to get it right- so suggest not attempting it unless you are pretty confident. I had a contractor friend put mine in- and took 5 hours- although the workmanship is perfect.

I needed this door to accommodate my 80 lb. dog with an easy entry/exit option. This door offers the largest pet door that I found with a factory installed opening. I wasn't interested in cutting a door on my own to install anything larger. It works for both of us!

It is a very nice door overall from a functional perspective. No drafts, etc. I do wish (like others) that there were options for a grid in the window or even a larger window (bigger/longer so that it extended closer to the pet door) but we have been extremely happy wit the door. The door arrived on-time but it was slightly damaged (a small but not inconsequential dent on the exterior panel and another very small one around the window frame). Home Depot made things right by compensating (we worked with both the online folks and the local store to get it resolved, but it was fairly quick and painless).
Another bit to consider - this is very high quality pet door - but unlike most other pet doors it is not just a sheet (flap) but actually thick and hollow (kind of like a double-pane window). It is transparent (or nearly so) which is also different than most others we have had (which are more translucent and/or smoked in color). It is also articulated in three lines (you can see it in the picture of the pet door - the horizontal lines). The net result is that we found that our animals (dogs and cats) took some time to adjust because of the differences - it just looks different to them and they were very unsure of it. Once they figured it out they were good with it, but you may need to help them through the first several times.
This door is great! It's very high quality and comes not only primed, but pre-painted so unless you need to paint it a color other than white it's ok to use as is. One of the nice things about this door is that the pet panel is made by Ideal Pet Doors so you can easily obtain replacement parts if needed.
We have two labradoodles they weigh around 60 pounds and the only modification we made was to make a larger landing outside the door (it's 2 steps to the ground) without that it could be difficult for a dog to go in and out of the door. If your door is at ground level it would not be an issue though.
We looked everywhere before buying this and the only other solution we could find was having a glass company modify our existing door for over $900.
Energy Efficient, Easy to Install, Great Value, Well Made, Lots of Features, Good Size & Fit, High Quality
Door came exactly as ordered, Any 'self-help' videos provided should particularly emphasize to homeowner the importance of measurements of the existing door frame prior to finalizing order. I needed to order a slightly wider door jamb to match the existing one. Had the associate indicated that these vary by up to a couple of inches, I would have double-checked. I now need to use filler pieces to finish the molding fit so that it will look professional, which would have been unnecessary if the jamb was 1/2" wider.
