The hydraulic broke the first day of use.

Works super easy - was great to pull it out of the box and get started in seconds. Very easy to use. I hope this review can override my other one - I accidentally reviewed a chainsaw and it posted here on this log splitter. Hopefully people will see or the review will get rejected.

Dead after one use. Followed instructions to the T. Just a dud, never buying this brand again - going back to trusted brands I’ve never had issues with. Waste of money.

Wonderful piece of equipment. No gas or electricity required. Easily splits large logs while giving the user some low impact exercise. Perfect for occasional Splitwood needs.

It's a log splitter. It helps you split logs. what more do you need. If you don't want to spend the extra to get a motorized machine this will work just fine. Honestly, the wood burns better because you worked hard for it.

Jammed after 3 logs. Returned it. Support was willing to replace it, but decided not to keep.

I have only split 12 logs so far. This splitter does an excellent job. It is easy to use, seems very well made. Just follow the directions.

Exactly as expected. It took a bit of practice but I can spilt the logs with ease now. Very rewarding to see the wood pile grow as you go.

We gave this log splitter three different opportunities (three new splitters) to work as described with epic disappointment. The left side hydraulic pump/handle didn't work on the first one when we received it; right side handle didn't work on the second one, and then the icing on the cake was #3.....both handles worked. small victory, but it shattered after about three logs into operation, causing the log in the splitter to fly out from the force of the "explosion" as I called it, hitting my wife in the hand, leading to a quick trip to the ER.....needless to say it won't be getting a fourth tryout. However, we did receive a call from the company (after we let Home Depot) know what had happened, that builds the Sun Joe Logger. They were apologetic and has sent then sent us a stronger, electric version of the log splitter at no cost....We have not had a chance to try it out yet so the jury is still out.

Perfect for splitting logs for the smoker. Easy enough for a half-sober Californian to use without losing a toe or finger.

Works for what I needed at the time. Wish it had a bigger hydraulic jack for bigger logs, but I knew this going into the purchase. Really easy to split small logs.

Portable and easy to move around. Stores upright. Splits logs with ease. I’ve split logs 12 inches wide, both hard and soft wood. Takes time and I wouldn’t recommend for anyone that splits large amounts wood with regularity. Very happy with this purchase and highly recommend.

Super easy to use. Fits the bill for our use and is so easy to use for every member of our family.

Simple to use. Better than expected!

Initially this was exactly what I expected. But after several hours over a few weeks’ usage the left-hand hydraulics start giving me a lot more resistance than the right. Then it started leaking oil. I haven’t reached out to the manufacturer or Home Depot yet. Maybe they’ll contact me when they see this review.

Exceeded expectations! Splits wood easily with minimum of effort.

Split first dozen logs fine. Then the short stroke pump failed (right side). Unable to split logs with only long stroke pump. Returned to the store. Home Depot handled return Great! Now looking for another splitter.

Ok so after waiting about 2 plus weeks to get this, it doesn't work. I pumped and pumped and it barely moves. I watched all the online videos and did everything correctly but it has NO pressure. It moves, barely once about every 10 pumps. So which means it would take me about 10 minutes to split one piece of wood. Actually I wouldn't know for sure, I never did get it to split a piece of wood. I had to order this and it took forever to arrive. I called their tech support and all he wanted to do was get it registered. What this means is, lets get it registered so we can spend tons of more time "trying" to make it work. No thanks, it didn't work out of the box so back it goes. Best advice? Go rent a gas model. They are way better and far more powerful.

Open the box and tried to split first log, everything seemed fine till the rod made contact with the log. Would not hold pressure so I returned the product an hour later.

A little smaller than I was expecting. I couldn't fit average sized rounds in it. It also takes forever to pump the hydraulic arm. You definitely get a workout doing it. However, I've been splitting Juniper which is a REALLY dense wood and it splits fairly easy with the Sun Joe.

Works great! Does take a little man power but definitely gets the job done.

With a little bit of muscle it seems to cut anything that my neighbors 33 ton will cut. It save me a whole lot of work because you don't have to worry about gas and oil and all the other frustrations of hooking it up and Hauling it around. I just put it on the tailgate of my Chevy and it works very well for me.
