I made a Tealight Candle with this wood. I found all four sides to be smooth, flat and square corners. There are no knots or other imperfections. I found the wood to be very nice to work with. A couple light coats of oil based polyurethane is all my project needed.

Every single piece is 3/16”short

very nice sample, OVERPRICED for sure, and you have to check many to get a piece without too many defects.

Bowed as soon as I cut it. A bit disappointed.

Excellent straight grained for cabinet work.

Both boards were reasonably square and flat.

It has good color and nice and straight.

Strongly suggest you check for straighness. Surprised how much was warped in the bin

First time with this wood, it is hard so I thought I would give it a try.... A little too hard for the project I used it for and hard to sand , doesnt take stain too well had way too many dark spots when dry...next time I will use Tong Oil or another natural wood finish and be done with it as this has a beautiful grain and that would let it show through.... Back to pine for small projects ....

Birch is a great hardwood for many projects. These boards required a lot of selecting in store to find reasonably straight ones. Finding a nice grain pattern for cabinet doors is also a challenge, so there is a need to buy many more so I can cut and select straight sections and eliminate the curved pieces. I like buying here because they are actual 3/4" thick and I don't need to machine them to thickness.

Home Depot asked me to do a review on a board. Seriously. Had to pick through lots of material to get clean and straight ones since I'm making furniture with it. So the good points are: All natural! All in one, no assembly required to make a board. No moving parts so it's very dependable and won't malfunction. Looks great after sanding, staining, and finishing. If you accidentally drop it in water, it floats so you don't have to dig it out of the muck in the pond. Cuts easily with a saw. Shapes readily with a router. You can fashion these into a wide variety of things, just use your imagination.

Very difficult to find a hardwood that isn’t twisted.

The millwork by the manufacturer was good. But most of the lumber was of little value. I use this wood for furniture and it must be straight.You need to regularly regroup the wood to keep customers from just tossing it back in to the bay and not considering the warp and twist that it might cause.

Quality of wood is poor primarily due to excessive warping. It’s hard if not impossible to find a straight board. Need to get supplier to address this problem.

I’ve been using these to make cabinet doors. It’s not too hard but thru 30 doors and 12 drawers I used two sets of router bits. One problem I ran into is that the longer pieces are curved. If you are making smaller doors they work fine but taller than 13-14 inches creates a bow. Hard to straighten

This is great hardwood. It is relatively warp free, and is generally free of knots. It accepts stains well. I'm using it to make door and drawer frames in my kitchen remodling project.

About half the boards in the store are warped, another 1/4 are cut down. Overall good wood but you have to be really choosy.

Sanded nicely and easy to work with.
