I love it now that I know how to use it!
Before I wasn't sure on how to use it so the notifications got annoying but I was able to adjust it and have it record constantly which is what I needed.

    I bought this camera survyience system because the neighborhood that I live in .So far I haven't needed it. But it was easy to hook up, everything is working with ease.nobody should have a problem if I can do it.

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These were amazing. Easy set up, easy use. Went up and only took my husband about an hour to set everything up, maybe a little longer. The pictures are clear as day. We were super excited to be able to check on our hosue no matter where we are. These went great outside, couldn't even tell they were really there. Small enough to not be noticble but big enough to capture everything needed. We were all very pleased with these. Great set of security cameras and fantastic name brand to go with it.

      Poor mounting bracket design
      The mounting bracket on these cameras is poorly designed. I need to be able to physically adjust/point the camera vertically and horizontally to where I want it once it's mounted. This bracket only allows a 90 degree vertical adjustment in one direction which severely limits how you can mount this camera. The bracket should also have a 180 degree vertical adjustment so you can mount it from a ceiling if you wish.

          Does not work as described, and give false information.
          I have had this unit for 4 months and it has never worked as it should. I follow the instructions over and over but can't get a fully working unit. * I'm told no files available when played back, but there must be. *One camera records and plays back but others that are set up the same do not. *I have only had two notifications in 4 months *It takes 3-5 minutes to display on my phone *Asks me to renew password every time I try to access remotely on smartphone All in all useless as a warning device, I can see the live view but cannot replay.

            Motion Detected Push Notifications to Android don't work - Its a Known Thing
            Bought this as a replacement for my 4 year old Swann which had completely failed. This seems better and improved with more storage but whilst the push notifications to my android phone work for camera power loss/restored they don't work for motion detection active - apparently its a known thing but Swann don't know how to fix it. I have followed all the online help, but it doesn't ....

              3 out of 4 security lights started flickering in 8 months
              In about 8 months 3 out of 4 cameras had flickering security lights when triggered. When the first one started acting up I initiated a warranty claim by email. This was a fairly lengthy process, by the time I had the first camera approved for replacement the others had failed. I asked if I could get those handled at the same time and was told I would have to start separate claims. It is not worth the hassle to do this for me. I just turned off the security light function. Obviously these lights are a issue if I have 3 out of four doing this.

                Good results for a DVR system with a nice price. Can I add an extra WiFi camera to it ?
                I have working with good success a DVR8-5580G system at home with 4 cabled cameras and the DVR device connected and monitoring by internet with Swan Security iOS iPhone software. Can I add a WiFi camera to the DVR 5580G system and control it similar as the other ones in same account ? I read about the WIFI-SPOTCAM Spotlight Outdoor Security Camera, can it works ? Which other WIFI camera model do you recommend ? With 4k ?

                  Worst Quality You Can Buy !
                  I was burned by this company for the last two years. No customer service they just ignore you. The Control box is a plastic case not metal. The software is terrible. The Cameras are low quality with bad resolution. I threw my $500 system in the trash.

                    Not high resolution, no thermal detection as advertised. Very simple cctv system, app is not good. I wouldn't waste my money on these false tags.

The PIR sensors on each camera are equipped with sensors that are able to detect heat and motion. The recorder has 3 different settings for streaming quality; low, medium, and high. If you are having problems streaming you can lower the settings and test to see if it improves. Note that lowering the stream settings does not affect the quality of the recordings.                       THIS IS THE WORSE SYSTEM IM PLANNING TO RETURN IT.
                      I bought this few days ago and we try to set up for the system for around 2 days and still not working right THE PIR AND MOTION always fails the the alarm settings I save it and when the system change to night vision thePIR and MOTION don't work anymore and the system change by itself the setting, first time I use this brand and never try this brand again.

PIR sensors work optimally when the camera is mounted around looking down somewhat and the subject of detection passes across their front. The more the object must "cross" the front of the camera the better the detection reliability. When placing your camera try to avoid situations where the subject would move straight toward the camera if possible.                         [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Swann did not disappoint with this system set-up. Quite easily set up by myself and my significant other within a couple hours. The cables included were more than adequate in length to connect the cameras. The 1080p cameras are so much better than my old 720p. The picture is significantly clearer and more crisp on both my monitor and through the app on my phone. I particularly like receiving alerts on my phone while I'm away as I can see when packages have been delivered and see if I've missed any surprise visits. Night vision works well on this system. We mostly get an occasional raccoon walk across the yard but we've been able to see some deer here lately as well. The motion activated lighting is nice to have when we leave the outdoor lights off. For myself, the motion lights help me to see a bit better when I'm coming home late. Feeling secure within our home with children is so important to or family. I would most definitely recommend this Swann System for friends and family.

                          Easy upgrade to feel safe

Let’s start with if you have ever needed to check on your house or worried what is going on while your gone then this is for you. This comes with 4 cameras but I have only hooked up 2 so far. Using these 2 cameras I can get complete coverage of both doors and all of the common areas in my apartment. These will allow you to leave with the comfort of being able to see what is going on while your not there or even just keeping an eye on your pets. Set up was fairly simple following the directions. Mounting the cameras was simple using drywall anchors to mount to the wall. The video quality on these cameras is extremely good and the ability to look back is a plus thanks to the dvr. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a camera system.

I have mine where I can view cameras on my tv when needed. The camera presents a great detailed picture, and I love the heat/motion activation. I have multiple out buildings and the option to expand on camera count is great. The quality of construction on this unit seems to be solid. With plenty if storage available, you wont miss a thing. My favorite part is having a good app to remote in while at work.

I had installed my previous system, so re running the wires to adapt to this system was easy. Running the wires in a new build is even easier. Once I got everything ran, set up was simple. I had everything I needed included in the box to get up and running. I added a monitor to view the cameras from where my digital video recorder is. I only needed the 4 cameras that came in this package but you can also add up to 4 more if needed. Downloading and setting up the app on my smart phone was easy and user friendly. The quality of the system is great and I would definitely recommend this system to anyone wanting video surveillance for their home or business.

I like how there's 2 TB of storage built into the included DVR. I also love the video quality. I need more time to get use to the app, but think that in a few weeks, it'll be second nature. I really like feeling like I have a good security system in place, and think that the cameras outside will act as a detterent. I would recommend this security system to those looking for one. Just make sure you realize that it is wired.

You are better off getting a 8 channel, now I can add more cameras around the property which I been wanting to do for while. It was easy to program, just follow the instructions. i like that I can connect to the cameras thru any device I want. The cameras have good night vision. We have been having problems with break-ins around the neighborhood, so this is a must-have.
