I enjoyed the product while it worked, however after approximately 10 uses the tube the delivers the water to the mop head broke and renders it useless. It is now only usable as a regular swiffer without steam cleaning. I am very displeased with the quality of this product!

Love it but the Triggers Break -3rd TIME
My Wife and daughter love this steam mop however, we are on our third one (4th if you include my daughter). We bought our first a few years ago. After using it for a few months, we bought a second one for the upstairs so my wife would not have to carry it up and down the stairs. At the same time we bought one for my daughter. It was not long before the trigger on the first one broke. Perhaps a year and a half or so... So my wife reverted to carrying the newer one up and down the stairs again. Within the year the trigger on the second one broke and when my wife told my daughter about it my daughter said something to the effect of "Oh yeah, mine broke too. I forgot to tell you. We waited a while and then I bought another one for my wife. The trigger on this one just broke. So 4 have broken in as many years. The reality is that its more coast effective for me to just buy another one than to spend my time complaining to the company. Enough however, is enough. you need to be made aware,YET AGAIN, that you have a defective design. GREAT PRODUCT but with a defect. Every time it's the same thing, the steam trigger breaks. I have taken it apart and have determined that the 2 plastic nubs on the side of the trigger which hold the trigger into the fulcrum of the pivot inside of he handle have broken off. There is also another plastic catch which has two sides to it and one of those sides had broken off. I have read enough of these reviews to have been made aware that this is a known issue with this model and that MANY other people have experienced the EXACT SAME issue. Might I suggest that if Bissell intends to continue to market this model, that you simply re-design your trigger and make it in Metal and while you are at it, put a trigger lock on it. At the very least, make the trigger out of metal.

This steam mop is fine for a light quick clean up. We have this for about 3 years. It has work well for us. The replaceable pads are expensive. Overall the mop has performed well for what we use it for, light clean ups.

Poorly designed trigger breaks within months of use.
Product works decent for quick cleanup. Mechanical trigger is clearly designed poorly and broke after a few months. The pivot nubs on the trigger break off and is not repairable Cant find a replacement trigger part through bissel or Swiffer. Ergonomics of holding trigger for duration of cleaning is tiring. Handle shaft flexes during use. Head swivel is lacking.

This is an excellent product and worth every penny. I've spent a year trying to get both the hard flooring and the stone flooring cleaned in a townhouse I bought and have tried many products. This steamer finally did the job; the results were amazing. I like how the output of the steam is controlled and confined to the area being swept so the steam does not get the walls or furniture wet. The container holding the water is small - only 10 ounces and initially I thought I would be constantly filling it up but not so; one container of water has lasted for over 800 square feet of flooring. I really like the convenience of the long cord and when it said the unit heated up in 30 seconds, it was definitely that quick.

Do Not Waste Your Money..
This is my second time with this particular steam mop. The first time about 4 to 6 months after purchase the steam mop would not stay straight it kept twisting and turning and was difficult to maneuver. I liked this mop because it steamed and smelled very nice and floors looked clean and shiny. However, I decided to get a new one. I've had this one for about 4 yrs and only use it ocassionally. Well sadly the trigger handle snapped as the two tiny plastic pieces that hold it in place broke off of the trigger handle so now when I squeeze the connection cannot be made for the steam to be released. When I opened it I saw the cheap plastic and two little tiny bits that broke off so I figured I would go on line and find the part replacement at Bissell. Unfortunately, this part and NO other parts for this steam mop are manufactured for replacement. I think when you sell a product with cheap parts that are easily broken you should at least manufacture replacement parts because it is very likely they are going to break easily and you are going to have some very unhappy consumers. As much as I used to like this product when I bought first one, after the second time around I am convienced that I will NOT be purchasing this product nor recommending it to anyone :(. Very dissatisfied when I called and was told they are sorry they have no replacement (s) for this product. My Advice: DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON ITEMS THAT ARE MADE WITH CHeAP PLASTIC PARTS (especially when there are no replacements :(

Ok until the Steam Trigger breaks....
Works terrible with pads that are provided so we started using cleaning cloths. They would leave streaks everywhere on our tile floors. Used it for 2 months before the trigger broke. Was half decent up until that point. For $50+ I wish it would have lasted longer than 4 uses... in reality if we could get a replacement handle I wouldn't be too upset. I don't even want a refund just send me another handle and it'll justice the amount of money wasted.

Terrible on wood floors
Although the company claims that this machine is "easy to use and safe on tile, finished wood and laminate floors" it left terrible streaks on my sealed wood floors. After reading some online comments mirroring the same problem, I added a half teaspoon of white vinegar into the water. This helped slightly, but it's too late. The streaks are obvious and not going away. Very disappointed.

Simply Cannot compete with other more heavy duty Steam Mops
Upon Opening up the Swiffer Steam Mop, I thought that it was a bit flimsy. It just doesn't "Feel" substantial. I put it together and attached the disposable cleaning towel/wipe, added the correct amount of water, and plugged it in. On the upside, it heated up FAST. It's very lightweight, and not hard to manipulate around the rooms.
However, on the downside, the cleaning towel is too lightweight. It simply cannot get INTO the grooves and notches in the floor tiles. My ceramic floors are grouted, and the dirt stayed trapped in the grout lines.
It also does not get into the corners very well. It trapped the dirt into these corners and I had to then go back in with a brush, and remove the trapped dirt.
For the Price Point, one could do better. With the Swiffer Steam Mop, one is going to be forced to purchase the disposable towels, on a continual basis. This is the ONLY steam mop that I can find that asks you to replace and not wash the cleaning towel. Perhaps there are people that like having a disposable towel. I did not. I also feel that a cleaning towel that must work with the delivery of steam, should have more than just a flat surface to deal with the dirt and debris that is coming off of the floors. Dirt and hair, seem to roll up into a ball, and then got distributed back onto the floor in clumps.
For the cost of the Steam Boost, and the further cost of the Cleaning towels, my suggestion would be to get a different product. This one just seems like it wanted to compete with the other products on the market, with somewhat disappointing results. I really wanted to like the Steam Boost mop, but, I just find that it needs improvement.

Convenience and ease of use are winners
I have laminate wood floors and had been dying to try a steam cleaner. After doing a ton of research on whether steam was going to ruin my flooring (most industry experts say it will, homeowner anecdotal evidence suggests probably not), I went ahead and gave it a try.
The unit comes unassembled, but it takes only a minute to snap the handle together to ready it for use. The water tank is plenty large and easily accessible--I cleaned my kitchen, dining room and living room without having to stop to refill. Nothing is added to the water, the cleaning power comes from the disposable steam cloths.
After a very short warm-up, the steamer is ready to use and is activated by squeezing a trigger on the handle. The steam wasn't always visible, but you could always hear it, so I knew it was working. The starter kit comes with 2 steam cloths which are so easy to install. Open the wings, sit the steamer head on the cloth and pinch each corner into the steamer head (see picture). I used both cloths for the area I cleaned. There was a tiny bit of streaking, but not nearly as much as with another brand's steamer. After the floor dried, I did a quick follow up with a chamois polisher I got from Costco to get rid of the streaks. Love that the cord is super long and that there is a hanging loop on the end of the handle!
I also used the steamer in the laundry and bath, the unit worked great on the vinyl surface in those rooms, also. Overall, I'm very happy with the steamer and highly recommend it!

Luv it as a Post Cleaning system, lightweight & sanitary
Mine arrived with 2 Individually wrapped Steampads in the OpenWindow Fresh scent. It's a clean scent, not overpowering, but not enough pads to finish a fair test of the product. I purchased a 20 pack box of the same scent.
The pads are secured like all other Swiffer products, at the four corners of the pad over a rubberized bottom, as pictured.
Lightweight, it's nearly the weight of an aluminum cane. The cord is more than 18 feet long. It is attached to the Steamer about a foot above the floor. An extra clip secures the cord is at the top of the handle. It easily moves across the floor without the cord getting in the path.
The temperature for realistic cleaning stays at about 170-180 with constant use of the steamer button, see the pics. I used a meat thermometer, pictured. That temperature may be useful on bacteria but will not sterilize to kill some pathogens. Depending on how long you are willing to spend holding the pad over parts of your floor you may kill bacteria.
I did a pre-cleaning. I daily clean a room that has a cat litter station. Depending on your preference a disinfecting product might be used and then the steamer. The steampads pick up some surface dirt and particles but push cat hair and larger particles around. Post-cleaning is the best use of the steamer.
This changed my life because I boil water to clean floors. My daily work is cut in half. I enjoy using it.
As a piece of engineering, it is a simple product that heats water. Tiles clean easily, the grout is not cleaned. On cement floors the pads fray and tear, but they take a beating before they do that. I've also tried washing the pads and using them again, that works.
Realistically, as a product that works for post-cleaning, it's worth the price. I particularly like moving it from the litter area to the kitchen to clean floors without worrying about cross contamination.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned this mop since it was first released. No problems whatsoever. I've never bought pads. I just use a clean microfiber and fill with water. I spray a little diluted Mr Clean multipurpose cleaner here and there as I mop and my floors come out amazing from my hardwood, ceramic tile and laminate floors. In a house with 3 dogs.... Impressive

Bissell doesn't care
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Obviously a lot of people still own 6639 and don't want to a) contribute to landfill by throwing away a perfectly good mop just because the manufacturer wants them to pay yet more money for their new product. I mean what else am I to do with it?? Can't give it away or donate it, because it's been rendered useless by Bissell b) spend $50 for 4 pads in some overpriced kit c) spend hard earned money to replace a perfectly functional mop d) use rewashable pads which adds more work to the process of mopping. This is unfathomably bad customer service and planet-hating behavior. You have to support your products longer than this. I'll never buy Bissell again.

I would and have bought this product again and again
I love this product but an extremely upset that it has been discontinued. I HATE having to wash steam pads, especially when I could go through two pads a week, sometimes more. That is exactly why I loved this product - easy to use, and NO PADS TO WASH. Just mop, then toss the pad. I'm having such a hard time finding an appropriate replacement for this DISCONTINUED product because it is extremely inefficient to continuously be washing mop pads.

Value and Performance!
This is a great home floor cleaner. Use only distilled water or RO water. The steam action cleans really deep cleans the woodlooking vinyl floor of our apartment. I drag in all kinds of stuff from the garage since we are on the first floor. You can definitely see the stuff being picked up on the white pad. I've used other brands but this for $50 this little steamer is great! I just wish it had an on off switch for the heating part. If its plugged in it is heating. I may have to rig it up and add a switch. Most steam mops will fry the heating element if you just let it sit for too long without pulling the trigger to feed it water.

Fantastic until the trigger breaks
This product really penetrated deep, and I felt good not using a bunch of chemicals to clean my floors as I try to avoid them anywhere the dog may potentially lick. I LOVED this product as it is compact, lightweight and really cleans up. Until the trigger broke unexpectedly and I cannot find a replacement part. My partner and I will be purchasing something that, while more expensive outright will have a warranty and not need to be replaced annually as so many reviews say

Trigger breaks and can’t find cleaning pads
I loved this mop and used it for quite some time until the trigger broke. Took it apart and found the plastic nubs had broken. Bought a second one and it is working fine. However, now I cannot find the cleaning pads at the store originally bought the first one. It’s like I can only find one store now that carries them and it is always out of stock.

LLC, we're sorry to be the bearers of bad news, but the Swiffer Bissell Steam Boost cleaning pads have been discontinued. However, we also have good news for you! You can use base Swiffer Wet cloths on the Swiffer Bissell Steamboost. You may want to squeeze out some of the excess solution before use, as the Steamboost device will add liquid to it. Also, the Steamboost mop head is slightly larger than Swiffer Sweeper, so you may need to stretch the cloths a bit to get them into the grippers. We hope this helps. If you have any questions please give us a call at (800) 214-8734. We love helping our Swiffer Fans.
