Easy enough. Allowed me to make the size I want and still feels sturdy

Ordered this for my kids and I must say, installation was easy and the instructions were concise. I downloaded the manual from home depot and purchased and cut all the wood before the kit arrived. So once it was delivered it was easy to start right away. I built it alone, and from start to finish it took about 12 hours. Thats just build time, not cutting the wood. The nice thing about it is that you can use good quality wood. The sets that have the wood come with it is cheap wood that doesn't last. This will last for years to come.

This is long but I think helpful... I spent a lot of time researching swingsets and options, I liked this option cause it was so much less then similar ones built like this with strong good lumber. I decided to build the project 513 cause I liked the roof and double play deck. I have three kids 9,5,3 and felt this was good for all of them and will grow with them.... the play decks are at 4 feet and 5 feet off ground and once you put the roof on this thing is tall! First I got all my lumber from the home depot and spent around 500 on lumber, screws, some new drill bits and an extra battery for drill (you want that trust me), carpenter square and a new saw blade. It’s a lot of lumber not having a truck it took 3 trips with a Honda Pilot. I think just getting it took me a day. If I ever did another one I’d considered having it delivered however I did like picking all my lumber, I used all pressure treated #2 rated for ground contact wood. The kit doesn’t include a slide we got one for nothing that works great as someone was getting rid of it so that saved money and we used swings from old set since the kit only includes two. The cut list and directions are great and easy to follow, it took me a day to cut all lumber and was great to do it like that then when the build started I just grabbed my cuts (I labeled the pieces with chalk with the measurements). The build... well anyone that can get this done in the 5-10 hours listed I wanna meet you. I worked 95 percent alone, the wife helped with the swing beam instal and the occasional help of a 9’year old holding a few things. Part of the build went quick, now I don’t have a lot of experience but I’m pretty handy guy and was able to figure it out as long as the initial frame is square you’ll be fine. The roof construction was hard to install the way it says so I found it easier to do the whole thing up there rather than the way it says in the book. This thing is strong! I am 260lbs and I had zero issues climbing on this thing. I jumped on it swung from it and everything else in between, I really wanted to test it’s strength. I’m very happy with the set and kit, the rapid lock system makes the framing very easy and provides great strength and support structure. All kids swinging and the play decks don’t move much at all! All in all this took me 5-6 days probably working on it a minimum of 4-6 hours if not more each of those days. If you have the time and are good with a tape measure I say go for it. Tips: you need a circular saw however a 7 inch (probably what most have) doesn’t go clean thru a 4x4 my neighbor had a 10inch one and it was my saving grace. Chop saw is useful and helps making straight cuts and speed things up alittle but you don’t need it and could do all cutting with a circular saw. Pre drilling holes helps prevent wood splitting and is worth the time especially when working alone as the screw just goes in faster. I also used a counter sink drill bit most of the time so kids don’t scrap themselves on a screw as the counter sink allows the screw to sit nicely in the wood. Your carpenter square and tape measure are your best friend. Two drills and extra batteries are useful and help speed things up. I had one drill with drillbit for drilling holes and one with driver for the screw so I didn’t have to keep changing bits. I also always had one battery always charging so when one went dead I had a fresh one ready to go. Two people would be useful and probably get it done faster but that just wasn’t an option for me.

After you buy the kit, a slide, lumber, and screws you end up paying around $600. It is much sturdier than most prefabricate play-sets. It does take a full day and two people to put together. In the end it is a great product and my kid loves it.

Really like the swing set but the directions were a problem. Every other page was in Chinese seriously guys?!! Thank goodness the instructions were on line. First my husband was copying the measurements onto the pages until we figured out we could print them. For a minute there it was a nightmare! The swing set came out nicely!

This kit is great. Outlines everything you need to purchase. Directions were easy to follow and I was able to build it in one day. Since I was able to purchase good wood, I got a strong long lasting playset, for 1/2 the money I would have paid for the pre-cut wood kits that I would have had to put together anyway. I just added 2 steps: purchase wood and cut. Its great.

The overall kit was a good experience to assemble. I used it as a baseline and modified the set to my own desired dimensions. Great starter kit

We love this kit. Compared to pre-made kits, the quality is fantastic. It was easy to put together and there are a few different plans you can follow to make different setups. The kids love it.

Took a while to assemble but was really sturdy and nice when done

Very pleased. Swings say up to 115 lbs but are definitely better than that. Ordering the hardware separately and then getting the lumber and cutting it ourselves was the way to go. Much cheaper but better quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have gotten this kit twice. Once at our old house and we loved it so much I built the exact same one again at our new house. The perfect size and ability to customize are two of the best features. Pick what you want for accessories so you don’t get a bunch you don’t want like with other kits. I would recommend. Only need to be able to saw boards and run a drill.

No wasn't clear that wood and slide sold separately. So I still have to purchase that.

This is a great swing set kit for the average DIY team. The instructions were easy to follow and it has quality hardware. It can be easily completed over the weekend.

I misunderstood the advertisement and thought it came with the wood. Only the screws and brackets were sold.

My grandchildren love it and that's what counts

Overall, the product is straightforward with the supplies and directions.With two people, and a standard suv, you will need two trips to the lumber yard due to the weight of the wood. Putting it together took two of use 10 hours and we are both pretty handy. Overall, my kids are happily enjoying it!

Play set was easy to put together. It took 2 people with above average carpentry skills and very good equipment about 8 hours to build. Then another couple of hours to paint with weather proofing sealant.

I'm impressed with the quality of the kit and the instructions. So far, it is going together well. My only comment is that there is NO WAY the average guy could get this completed (cutting wood and assembling) in the "4-8 hours" they claim, by him/herself. Get an assistant!!

Just started putting this set together. The instructions are top notch and tell you EXACTLY what to do. These aren't cheap/Chinese instructions...clearly, some engineer looked at them. It's actually been a very fun process ordering wood to the house, and starting to screw in brackets and put together the set. So far the fort base and ladder have been assembled. I have made some upgrades to the accessories. I ordered stronger swing bolts (to hold adult) and bought a trapeze bar rated for 250lbs.... So this should last any kid/adult a long time. Great product!
