installed 2.3 years, seat swivels left & right cus its broken where it attaches on 2/3 toilets I bought. metal pieces R not rust free so have rust! The black oval piece when you lift seat, that popped off and is broken so now pee collects in a small area with holes. when you lift seat the so called ceramic toilet the “paint” is peeling! I didn't know ceramic could peel like a crappy paint job! old cheap toilets last longer than this one!!! Do not buy! Can you imagine in 5 years!!! Absolute crap!

Seat broke after a few uses in the first two days following installation. If you scan reviews this is a known issue with this product.

I'm surprised this was broken, this is a new toilet with basically no use.

The tiolet was a little difficult to properly sit on bolts due to the skirt. So it took 2 people, one on each side of tiolet.

The toilet itself is fine, but the seat it comes with is incredibly cheap. It’s a very thin plastic and isn’t particularly comfortable. Looking for replacements immediately, can’t believe this is what it ships with

Owning four for over 3 years and each has slight variations; most require frequent cleaning. The design tends to trap urine splashes beneath the plastic seat after each use, requiring regular cleaning, especially for those sensitive to hygiene. The screws connecting the seat to the toilet loosen often, leading to swiveling. Cleaning the troublesome screw covers is also challenging, accumulating dirt and grime. Installation proves challenging, echoing the concerns raised by others.

Don’t be fooled by the nice design of this toilet. I made the mistake of buying two of these toilets. The plastic interior parts are very low quality and barely lasted a year. One stopped full flushes and the other started leaking. The flush button on top tarnished green on both just after the warranty period and the company will not replace them. Each button costs $20 and will need to be replaced every year or so. For this price point, I shouldn’t have this many issues with parts.

Perfect height and modern looking! Was also happy to have the top free to put my fragrance emitter on.

We went with the black Swiss Madison toilet and also the Swiss Madison wall hung sink. Very happy with both and the overall look is fancy. Toilet was a little bit of work to install over just putting a basic one in but it’s definitely a different picture and people always say they have never seen one before.

Very nice toilet. Easy to install. Easy to clean. Smaller than the average elongated toilet but creates space in the bathroom. Flats sides means less spaces for fluids to accumulate.

Toilet is very modern and functions well. Install was easy for my husband. He used blue tape to mark where the bolts were on the floor and blue tape on the toilet. I helped him line up tapes on one side. The toilet seat also lined up nicely. I was worried as I saw pictures here where they were not! Whoopsie! Installer error! We bought two after much research and I’m so happy! If you’re looking for a sleek, modern, easy to clean and dual flush toilet this is the one!

I absolutely love this toilet. I brought it for the dual-flush water efficiency (house with 3 boys) and the one piece look. My boys 8 and 11 tended to pee everywhere this is so easy to clean. We had a contractor install this so I couldn’t figure out how to remove the seat. The videos on YouTube show an older seat design. I have attached a photo of my seat quick release circled. Also one I removed I I realized you can easily make it allign with the front of the bowl. It reduces the flimsy seat feel when I was digging in the bathroom monitoring the kids bath. I plan on getting 2 more. I also had this delivered to my big box so I could be sure to carefully bring it home to avoid possible hairline cracks that I assume could happen in delivery.

The toilet looks great. Bought in November. It's early March and a small section (2") of the toilet suddenly appears to have "barnacles" on it. Trying to scrape them off resulted in exposing more of non-black underlying finish. Calling for warranty support tomorrow.

The way they conceal the two holes for the two mounting bolts makes it almost impossible to tighten once you set the toilet. Looks simple but almost impossible to do unless u have the hands of a 5 year old and hand tighten them. Cannot use any tools since there is absolutely zero space. I bought 2 of them and gave up and return both of them. Extremely stupid design and makes you feel so defeated when you are about to finish installation and can’t reach the 2 bolts. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Looks great and works well so far. Has a nice modern look to it. Only issue I see in mine is the toilet seat plastic doesn’t seem great and the plastic supports pop on to the surface a bit. See pics. Otherwise would have rated this higher.

It leaks and water would gather at the base of the toilet. Because it is so tight when mounted it was difficult to really feel the source of the water. I felt with my hand around to the inside of the toilet and up against the outside wall when I felt a manufactured hole. This was present on each side of the toilet. Sure enough when flushing that was the source of the water! 3 hours and 2.5 roles of paper towels to discover it's defective. I managed to get a picture of the hole from one side.

Such a sleek toilet! It flushes perfectly and looks so good! For the price, I think it looks so great. I also love that it's customizable, as they sell the buttons and seat knobs in black, rose gold, and white as well as the silver it already comes in! Love love this toilet so much. It looks good in any angle. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful toilet that I installed solo in a tiny bathroom without any major issues. While awaiting the toilet and contemplating the install, I read all of the bad reviews here and got a bit worried that I was in over my head and the quality of this toilet may be poor, but all turned out well in the end. It's so good looking that I'm here drinking my second cup of coffee, after having just used it, leaving a review. Arrived very well packaged and without any damage. I inspected it very closely for any damage or imperfections. This included laying it on its side and checking the underneath. It appears that SM has made some updates in the last few years, including making the access holes larger. They're still small, but manageable. To install this, I first traced the outline of the toilet base and bolt holes on cardboard and cut it out. I took this to the bathroom, aligned with my flange, and verified that it would fit in place. Importantly, it cleared my water supply line coming out from the wall. In prep for the install, I replaced a longer threaded nipple and valve coming out of the wall with a 2.5" nipple and shorter 1/4-turn valve. This extends 3" out of the wall, leaving enough clearance for the back of the toilet. Warning: the toilet is both wide and sits close to the wall, so there's a good chance of interference with your water supply line. Look at the detailed dimensions in the specifications PDF here to get an idea of whether you may run into clearance issues. An alternative, similar-looking, but skinnier and deeper back toilet is the Swiss Madison Ivy. You may want to look into that if you have clearance concerns. Once the fit was verified, I used painters tape to mark the toilet outline (using the cardboard cutout) on the floor. I was hoping this would make alignment and install a breeze, and it certainly helped, but after two attempts, I was hitting and pushing over the flange bolts when lowering. Back to the drawing board, I stacked three 1-by scraps on the back and front of toilet and set it down on it. This allowed me to very carefully align the flange bolts and remove I piece of scrap wood at a time to make sure the bolts went through the holes. This took some patience, but it worked just fine. I had to use a small mirror to see the far side bolt. Once fully lowered, I hand tightened the nuts and then used an offset 11 mm wrench to further tighten. I used a Fluidmaster "better than wax" rubber flange seal. For me, this was critical and the install wouldn't have been possible without given it took me three "plops" to get the toilet bolts aligned. Seat install was easy, but did take some trial/error rotation of the brackets to make the seat sit flush with the front of the toilet. Only complaint with the whole process is that a single washer was missing from one of the brackets. The access ports for the bolts were just large enough for me to contort my hands and offset wrench to tighten the bolts. The covers snapped into place no problem. No leaks, no issues, and the toilet looks *chefs kiss* great. The "vortex" flush is nice and swirls around the bowl nicely. I imagine some larger deuces could "hit dry land" and would require cleaning after use, but this is true of most/all new water efficient toilets. My flange and floor were not level, so I did have to shim the front of my toilet. You can see that in my photo. This is temporary and will later be shimmed with plastic shims and concealed with caulk. To conclude, if you're worried about install, don't be. Just bring some patience and flexibility and you'll get it. This is a heavy toilet (I only weigh about 40 lbs more than it!), but was able to lift and install solo by holding one of the access ports and behind the tank. With two people, it'd be even easier to maneuver into place.

This is undeniably a beautiful toilet, like you can see from my picture and from other reviews. It has clean lines and is very easy to clean. I am overall satisfied. My only nit pick is on the bowl design - the internal curve of the bowl is designed in a way that makes it slightly more prone to splash compared with other toilets.

A real pain to install, trying to get flange bolts that you can't see, to align with toilet mounting holes. Then I found that the toilet seat bolt covers are brushed nickel and the flush buttons are chrome. I contacted Swiss Madison and they replied - "All of the toilets come with one brushed nickel and the other one chrome. Unfortunately, we can not change that. We apologize for the inconvenience." I was very disappointed with this answer and wouldn't buy another Swiss Madison toilet.

I bought two of these for my home renovation. Unfortunately the renovation took a very long time so I had these delivery and sitting in the garage for months before they were finally installed. Not even two week later I discovered a long horizontal crack inside the bowl of one in the master bathroom. This is a bowl that I inspected thoroughly before it was installed and had cleaned a few times. Now I have to spend money to get a new toilet and pay to have it installed. The design allows for urine to get inside the lid every use and if the water pressure is normal the bowl doesn't get clean with one flush.
