Add color to your garage
Decided to add a little color to the shop! These Swisstrax Diamondtrax Home garage flooring tiles look pretty good in front of the work bench where I do a lot of glue-ups, staining, sanding, assembly. They get dirty and a vacuum or mop OR take outside and use a hose to get them pretty again. Being made of polypropylene they are durable and have a twenty (20) year warranty! With thirty (30) colors from which to choose, well… I didn’t get the “ramp” edge pieces that give smooth transition from a floor, but these are only half an inch thick, so not considered a trip hazard. A box of ten weighs about 7 ¾ pounds (2.2 kg).

    Modular Flooring For The Garage
Modular flooring made from polypropylene which displays an Allenwood™ like diamond plate design made by Swisstrax deserved my attention in the list of HD Seed products. The inter-locking 12” x 12” flooring tile assembly goes together rather easily if you grew up playing with those plastic blocks that rhyme with eggo. They are ½” thick. I received a 10 pack (10 square feet) of these without instructions or weight limits. Assembly was quite easy and only took a few minutes to do, keeping the loop ends facing the correct direction to join with the other surrounding tiles. I noticed a slight gap between each tile, so this is not a waterproof sealed flooring product. With it being a polypropylene I assume it will be stain resistant and clean easily with a non-petroleum based product. I decided to assemble them and try out underneath one of my automobiles in the garage. I drove over the flooring several times and was not able to dent, crack or otherwise deform it. I assume it would require several boxes to fully cover the entire garage bay verses applying a multi-step paint on sealant product. However, I would not recommend performing vehicle maintenance (floor jack etc) on this material. Product is not stamped with country of origin.

    Wouldn't buy
This flooring is intended for a garage floor but we found it very difficult to work with. It was fairly easy to assemble a strip but we were unable to get a full square to stay assembled. It is a very hard plastic and comes off of the floor about 1/4". We thought we would be able to use this in our garage but in the end we don't think we are going to use this at all.

Swisstrax 12 in. W x 12 in. L Slate Gray Diamondtrax Home Polypropylene Commercial Garage Flooring (10-Tile/Pack) (10 sq. ft.)
These Swisstrax 12 in. W x 12 in. L Slate Grey Diamondtrax Home Modular Polypropylene Flooring (10-Tile/Pack) (10 sq. ft.) are an interesting way to cover a floor of a work area or other space. The tiles are about 12 inches by 12 inches and snap securely together. I had to expend quite an effort to get them to snap together , I ended up laying them down and stomping on them once I had them lined up. They do not easily come apart once you have them together. The Surface in hard plastic and imitates the pattern of diamond plating. We got the red and the Grey and We might use these when camping .

Easy to install. Adds a nice look to any floor.
These tiles represent a nice option for protecting flooring. Each tile is ½-inch thick and 1 square foot (12-inches x 12-inches). The cost of a pack of 10 tiles is about $50, so it’s not inexpensive to cover a large floor area. For example, a 1 car garage measuring 12-ft x 18-ft or 216 sq. ft., would require 22 packs of tiles, costing $1,200, including a strip of ramp ending at the door. The tiles feature a waffle design on the reverse side which makes the tiles extremely durable and highly resistant to crushing, while the topside of the tile is stippled for traction, the raised diamond pattern is smooth, so the tiles could get slippery, especially when wet. Overall, these are nice tiles. The tiles come in a number of colors. I especially like the combination of pearl silver and jet black or racing red, and that the diamond pattern is continuous across the installed tiles. The installed tiles adds safety and value to any space.

    Light weight
The tiles are a very light weight plastic with a "Coke" red color but they do not have a quality feel to them - reminded me of a Lego building board. They should be fine on an absolutely flat surface but not sure they will hold up on a surface with any irregularities in(which in fairness they are made for flat surfaces). I had planned to use these in our golf cart garage with a cement floor; but didn't feel assured that they would hold up. I used them on our back walkway which has patio block base and black cushioned pads on top. I had a rubber runway mat on top but it was wearing due to the heat. These tiles do get too hot to walk on in the hot FL sun in the summer. The tiles didn't seem to do well on the uneven patio blocks but seem to be doing ok with the black mat underneath. You can only have 2 straight sides with the design with loops on the other 2 sides. The loops are not large but I was able to put a thin stake through the loop to help keep it in place. For assembly I found a rubber mallet very helpful as well as a flat solid surface to work on (cement floor) but even with these I was unable to connect the tiles right side up. I assembled the tiles and then flipped the whole thing - which worked well and they stayed together during the flip and moving to the proper location. I think they may work well for some specific tasks.

Slightly disappointed, but even so, I had to buy more
I wanted a nice garage platform for my lawn tractor, so, I ordered two boxes of Swisstrax 12”x12” Diamondtrax Modular Polypropylene Flooring tiles, one Racing Red and one Slate Gray, figuring 20 square feet would be fine. Like, what do I know? My tiles came and I was slightly disappointed how cheap they looked… y’know like cheap plastic. Even so, they seemed quite sturdy and strong. And as long as they are resilient to garage life, I'll be happy. The tiles are fairly simple to place on the floor and connect together, but you might need a rubber hammer. And you might need twice as much as you ordered. 20 square feet doesn’t cover much, and it was too small to platform my tractor. So, I ordered more. I was shocked how EXPENSIVE these tiles were! Next time, maybe I’ll platform my tractor on mahogany tiles.

    Durable product
The Swisstrax flooring is ideal for your garage or work shop. The tiles do take some effort to snap into place but once they are assembled, the tiles are locked in place and will not come apart easily. The 'groove like' finished tops help reduce the possibility of slipping when the surface gets wet or damp. This product is best suited for interior use. Living in Florida, I feel the hot sun would damage the tiles over time. The tiles do offer a slight bit of comfort when standing on when compared to my concrete garage floor.

    Flooring
Extremely hard plastic. For all my efforts, 15 minutes of trying all I succeeded to do while trying to connect these plates is to badly pinch myself. As there were no instructions, no way to find out if there is a trick to connecting them. I tried at every angle possible. Being hard plastic they will slide easily on any smooth surface without some sort of none slip mat under them. Can't see them wearing down as they are so HARD!

    Nice
Nice convenient durable flooring tiles for inside or outside applications. I added to two other colors to make a dynamic design and appearance. Made out of durable plastic but are playable which allows for convenience of installation. They are attachable on four sides or two depending on your applications. The color goes completely through. Rubber mallet makes attachment simpler.

    Simple
Simple flooring easy installation and hardy. I used a rubber mallet to facilitate simpler connection of each joint. The color is brilliant and all the way through. I added two additional set in different color for a dramatic effect. Using them outside as a flooring for my shed. Durable and colorful. Can be added and connected up to four sides with full lock.

Hard surface covering that is easy to lay
Swisstrax 12 in. W x 12 in. L Slate Grey Diamondtrax Home Modular Polypropylene Flooring (10-Tile/Pack) (10 sq. ft.), Slate Gray Unfortunately, I found this product not suitable for my intentions. The original plan was to lay a more foot-friendly surface in front of my workbench (see 1st photo) to ease prolonged standing. But, as I started to lay out the slate grey and pearl silver checkerboard combination pattern, I realized there was no, and I mean no, cushioning provided by these high-density polypropylene interlocking squares. Granted, its description does not make such a cushioning claim, so I incorrectly assumed it would have some “give” to it underfoot. My bad. Once I had more of the squares interconnected however, I noticed it made “noise” underfoot creaking against my old concrete floor with every step I took on it, and I found this distracting and bothersome. The interlocking (see 2nd and 3rd photos) I figured out on my own because no instructions were included, so I found holding them together and smacking them together along the top edges with the palm of my hand to work ok. But I would not want to lay too many by hand this way unless I was sure a mallet of some type would be safe to use on this material. And although the factory description states the flooring will “withstand household and automotive fluids,” and I am sure it will, I’m not so sure how one then easily cleans up spills that will certainly seep under the tiles due to the .020 gap (see 4th photo) along all four edges of each tile.

Durable, cool design, and nice to walk on.
There are many different companies, patterns, designs, and sizes to choose from. I decided to go with these Swisstrax 12 inch x 12 inch Slate Grey Diamondtrax modular flooring. They are made of high-density polypropylene and are resistant to oil, gas, and acids. I know they have these labeled as garage tiles and state indoor use only. I did not read that before getting them. I actually got them to use outdoors. I wanted to use them under my permanent metal gazebo. I changed my mind now that I saw these are not made for outdoor. I recently got a duck blind and a pop up gazebo that do not have any kind of flooring. I figured if I use these tiles for that they won'tbe outside all the time and when they are they will be sheltered from the weather. I only got a 10 pack for now to see how they worked out on the grass. They worked great, even on uneven lawn the tiles stayed together and actually made it easier to walk on. I was looking around my house for other uses for these tiles and I found them to be great for my computer chair. The chair glides over them very smoothly and does not get caught on the carpet. I do not have a garage but these tiles also look great as flooring for my shed. They feel durable and look great. I will probably end up ordering more of these for my pop up gazebo and then some outdoor tiles for my permanent gazebo. Snapping then together is very easy. Taking them apart is also easy but requires a little bit of effort. They also make edges (sold separately) for a nice uniform look and fit. You can also mix and and match colors if you get the same brand, style, and size. There are unlimited designs you can make with these tiles like zig zag, checker board, border frame, etc... The tiles feel very durable, look great, and feel nice on your feet even when you dont have shoes on. Now that I had a chance to test them out I will be getting more.

So, indoors only. • It is susceptible to UV degradation. So, indoors only • It is known to be difficult to paint as it has poor bonding properties. Paint won’t stick to it! • It has a high flammability. So do not use around fire or flame. All in all, great for work shops and garages.

Not much floor area covered for the price
I was not impressed with the racing red Swisstrax Diamondtrax Home Modular Polypropylene flooring. The material feels like Legos. The photos are a little misleading in the sense that one case of these covers very little floor area (5' x 2' only), so you can imagine how many cases you'd have to order to cover the floor of a two-car garage (or even a one-car garage). You are much better off painting the floor. Also, trimming these plastic floor tiles would require additional saw equipment. Not the best use of your time for a DIY project. You are much better off painting the floor.

Traps water in the Garage Floor
Apart from trapping water on the floor which you can't get out unless you remove the tiles it stains and very difficult to clean. It also warps in Summer.

The entire garage floor can move leaving a gap
I installed the floor and after a month or two the entire installation move toward the rails of the garage leaving a gap in front and customer service was terrible and refused to give me a few extra tiles to fill that in. You should be aware that this may happen unless the floor is fixed in the front and in the back
