I suppose "Double Life*" and "Lasts 2X Longer" actually means they'll last a whopping 5-1/2 months instead of only 3 months.

These are fantastic little light bulbs. I know LED and Compact Florescent are all the rage, but nothing beats a nice incandescent light bulb in a lamp with a shade. These are tiny and at 310 lumens I was worried about them being bright enough, they are 40 Watt and I was replacing a 60 watt equivalent CLF, but to my delight they gave matching brightness to the CFL's. And with a much softer and natural color too. see the attached picture, they really look great behind a shade.

Standard base soft white bulb with a compact profile perfectly suited for ceiling fans and decorative light fixtures where a smaller bulb is required. The light is bright, well balanced, leaning toward amber tones making it very gentle on the eyes. Not sure yet about it lasting twice as long but am hopeful. I really like this bulb color especially over the new LED versions.

40-Watt Double Life A15 Incandescent Light Bulb (2-Pack) review: This is a useful set of lightbulbs that can be used in most appliances and lamps. It advertises as double life so I hope this lasts a long time as we are used to LED lights that do last a long time. These are 40 watts which provide a soft glow, quite a bit more easy on the eye than 60 watt. There ya go!

These use a standard base and are the same shape as a traditional bulb but are smaller in length and diameter. We used them in two places. In our kitchen ceiling fans they aren't as noticeable and look nicer. See the pictures below to get an idea of the difference. Since they don't have the warm up time of a CFL, they give better immediate light. We also used them in a similarly shaded, 4 light guest bath fixture. There seems to be less glare, a warmer tone and 4-40 W bulbs is plenty of light.

For some of my bulbs, I strongly prefer incandescent over LED. They're getting harder to find. This is for lights in a ceiling fan, and the bulb has to match existing ones. These were perfect with the frosted appearance AND no writing on the end of the bulb.

I bought a bunch of these two-packs. So far, the first bulb lasted 30 minutes; the second bulb lasted two days. I switched to another brand as I needed light in the room. I will try again soon but have been extremely disappointed with the life of these. The size and light they produce is nice, but I cannot, in fairness, give more than one star due to the very short life. I will update review after trying more bulbs for sure.

Plastic housing popped off during installation. Had to go through all the steps removing the socket - cutting power, pliers, etc. Remaining bulb worked.

These are good bulbs. The light is soft and warm.

I have an older model garage door opener. LED lights do not work well or last long in this model so I use ceiling fan bulbs that can withstand the open/close vibrations. These are the only ceiling fan incandescent bulbs my local Home Depot carries so I bought them. Works well for me.

This was the perfect size, wattage and temperature bulb for our floor lamp.

Works great, quality and output seem consistent. Bought an LED alternative the week before which would not turn on in the socket. Came back for incandescent bulbs (the originals were) and these worked like a charm.
