i purchased 2 this past summer and they both broke. plastic is probably not the material to use for this type of trap. yarddog brand is more simply made and all metal.

A snake provided the ultimate trap. The mole trap was unsuccessful.

I have spent years buying poison to kill the things moles eat and bought castor oil products to repel moles which neither solved the mole problem. My wife bought 2 of these mole traps and in the last month I have caught and killed 4 moles in my yard. I loaned one to my neighbor and he has caught 2 moles in the last 2 weeks.Unbelievable product!

The trap works great, up until it doesn't. I seem to get 2 or 3 moles and then the release mechanism wears out. When this happens the trap doesn't work and the mole just goes right though. I have had to replace the trap 3 times. Works but disappointed in the quality.

Trap works and catches moles. I've caught 7 this summer but it cost me multiple traps. The plastic on it is cheap and to thin. Ive had a few break on me. Sometimes the traps can be hard to set also.

Never caught a single mole! Hard to step down and set.

I bought this trap in May 2021 and after I set it for the first time, I caught a mole within several hours. Thinking "Wow, this is great". However, I have set it numerous times and have never caught another. My problem is, when I was trying to set it today, I broke one of the bottom claws. I thought it was suppose to be tougher than that. Dissapointed.

I ordered three of these traps and I will say they are the best traps I have used for moles BUT I have 2 of the 3 that broke in the same place. Is there a way I can get replacements parts ? I do love these traps but I cannot keep buying them if they break in the same place on 2 of 3 traps.

Caught one mole after a couple of weeks. Didn't see another tunnel for about a week. Second time I set the trap and caught a mole in less than an hour. No tunnels for a few days so keeping fingers crossed. Tip: Make sure to step deep on tunnel or you will have difficulty setting trigger. And cut slots where the prongs go to make it easier to set in ground.

They are difficult to set and other than very soft soil like a mulch bed, they do not work because to set them, you have disturbed the mole tunnel and they dig around to avoid the trap. Returned 1 and would have returned both if I had not used the trap

Forget the instructions and the online video. This trap doesn't work . You would be better off dynamiting your yard. To begin with if you handle it without gloves the moles will steer away. It it terrible and a total waste of money. It is extraordinarily difficult to use, since it is bulky and the polymer is very thick, which contributes to making it difficult to place in the ground. It requires much more work to set up and place in the ground than the metal types. It must have been prototyped for very light loamy/mulch-type soil usage. If you want to use this in a typical yard, you will need a shovel to dig trenches in your yard and destroy sections of your yard. My recommendation is to never buy this. Here is the most important tip I can provide: ONLY BUY METAL MOLE TRAPS!

I had a mole tearing up my front yard on a daily basis, and I tried shoveling it out of the ground, flooding it, and poisoning it, but nothing worked. After buying this trap, I killed that mole in less than 24 hours. After later observing evidence of a new occasional mole in my back yard (I poked holes in its trail that the mole didn't patch until a few days later), I set the trap and eventually killed that mole when it returned a few days later, and then I got another mole a couple hours after that in the same spot. Unlike other treatments, you know that it works because you have the dead mole to prove it, and you didn't just force it into the neighbor's yard and made it someone else's problem after which it could just come back later. This trap has made a believer out of me, and I recommend it for anyone struggling with mole problems.

Only note to buyers is to loosen up the dirt a bit by the hole so that you can get the trap setup in the ground (and not possibly break the trap, which I did when forcing it in one time). I immediately caught 2 moles!. I have other kinds of traps that are not successful. I've bought 4 of these now. One was even a gift to a neighbor! Gotta work together!

The instructions need to be a little more details for anyone who has not used this style trap before. They are fairly difficult to set. However, once set in a good location it does its job well. We caught two (with two traps in different areas of the yard) in the first day. No blood and guts but definitely dead moles!

Easy to use and I got a mole within the first 24 hours!

Bought late last year. One, we have families of moles and this is only product we used that never tripped even once. It sat in place all fall. This spring, went to use and it won’t even set. It takes tons of force to try and push down on the plate and it won’t lock. Very disappointed given the price. We will send receipt to Tomcat to see if guarantee will be honored. Maybe a fluke but sure won’t buy another like this.

It caught 2 moles in 2 days but then would not latch again. In the trash it went.

We placed two traps but never caught anything. This could have been due to the way we placed them although we followed the directions.

Set the trap and caught 2 moles right away. I then tried to set it again and it would not set (latch, arm). I did not see any broken parts.

Without a doubt the product delivers - my concern is that I have bought three - I use two at a time however one of the claws snapped off. Not sue what kind of warranty comes with the traps.
