Not soon after receiving this item my recent adoption from the Humane Society got very ill, she was not eating, Vet and I were mystified. So no more dog food, she was prescribed boiled chicken and rice. I have a rice cooker, so that was easy. Boiling chicken is not really fun, it is rather unpleasant, but I have a new cast iron pot, well, so why not, so I did. This cast iron pot is wonderful, it boiled the chicken right up, went to heat then kept the heat where I wanted it, no boil overs (yes I keep the lid slightly off to prevent see the little sheep pot lid prop, but they still happen even then). Chicken was boiled to perfection in no time at all. Then the pot cleaned up like a champ, no elbow grease required. I have had to use it now three times for this chore, she is thankfully eating again with gusto. We still do not know what was wrong, I suspect that like most puppies she ate what she was not supposed to eat, but who knows. I heartily recommend this cast iron pot, it reaches and retains heat perfectly (using a glass top stove), cleans up like a breeze. I own Le Creuset pots, Dutch ovens and skillets, this Tramontina is on a par with Le Creuset cast iron, but far more reasonable in price. Again do not hesitate to purchase, you will not regret the choice.

Cast Iron Pot was delivered and packaged with great care. The pot delivered everything that was stated. I would recommend it to be purchased for anyone looking for a cast iron pot of this nature. I would purchase again I need to.

Did research and they stated these are extremely heavy and they are. But they take forever to boil anything and the whole entire thing becomes to hot to touch. Not sure if ill keep them.

Excellent quality! Love my pot! So nice to have a top to it.

Heavy, good coating and great for a lot of uses. I like the shape which is nearly round at the bottom and allows cooking in a smaller amount of oil.

Love this pan. I use it like a small Dutch oven. Can cook low and slow stovetop among other techniques.

Versatile, attractive, even cooking...what more could I want!

Love it, I use it on the stovetop and the oven. Put 1cup rice 3cups water, leftover chicken, gravy. Put in the oven at 325 for 23 minutes. Then I leave it in the oven to cook the rest of the way. The Iron retains the heat. You can just leave it in until you are ready to eat. It will stay hot. Just be careful not to drop, you will chip it easily.

Love this pot and use it almost daily...just ordered and received a second!

To start off with, this product was SO well packed, that it couldn't possibly be damaged by routine handling from the major delivery companies. VERY impressive!! The quality of this saucier was excellent for the price. Quite heavy, but then again it's cast iron. The interior surface was excellent for it's intended use. Just be aware that you must be careful to use the proper tools to keep the surface pristine.

Solid and the coating looks sturdy. A bit smaller than I expected but works well with some meaty stew.My only concern is chipping the edges of the coating on the pot, with the lid after some heavy use.

I bought this item as a gift for my wife. It was a great price and she was very happy to receive it. We have used it twice and had excellent results each time. It keeps the food warm for quite a while and it looks very nice on the table. When not using it my wife leaves it on the stove top because it looks so nice with the other appliances in the kitchen. Shipping was quick and easy. I definitely would recommend this item.
