SUMMARY: A great addition to my miter saw accessories. BACKGROUND: None of the corners I make edges for seem to be perfectly square. The WEN Miter Saw Protractor took all the guesswork and frustration out of my miter sawing experience. FIT AND FINISH: This is a CNC produced tool and has a nice look and fee. The swivel works smoothly with just enough friction in the joint to hold measurements during handling. FEATURES: From the Home Depot page, with my comments as appropriate. • Perfect for crown molding, trim work and a variety of other carpentry applications ◦ Worked great for making an outside corner miter on a not-square table edge • Crafted from precision CNC-machined aluminum alloy ◦ Feels good in the hand • Laser-engraved easy-to-read scales provide maximum accuracy ◦ Was really easy to read • Internal O-ring swivels smoothly during operation ◦ Smooth, but not loose. Held the measurement well. • Measure single cuts using the outer scale or miter cuts with the inner scale ◦ Nice to have both options on the scale. OPERATION: It was really easy to use. I opened the protractor until both arms rested against the edge of the table. I could then read the required miter angle directly from the scale. I set the miter saw to that angle, made the cuts and the pieces lined up perfectly. SUMMARY: Great for working those non-square corners. PROS: Easy to use, accurate CONS: Wish the arms were longer.

I have an inexpensive compound miter saw and I can never trust my miter angle settings. So, this miter saw protractor performs a double-duty for me. I use it to measure and transform angles and I use it to verify the blade angles on my miter saw. No instructions were provided with my protractor, so I had to figure out how to use it on my own. The SINGLE CUT arrow and outside scale are for transferring readings directly to the miter saw for making butt joints. The arrow on the handle and the inner scale is for transferring angles directly to the miter saw for making miter joints. I simply use the protractor itself to set the angle of the saw blade. ¶ There are 2° gradations on the outer (single-cut) scale and 1° gradations on the inner (miter-cut) scale. The gradation marks are well-defined and sharp, but they are small and therefore difficult for me to read their alignment. I have to use a magnifying glass to discern the smaller tic marks between the larger labeled marks. Some folks prefer white lettering on a black background, but I’m the opposite. I think it’s easier to read black lettering on a white background. ¶ The protractor feels durable and it holds its set when transferring angles. It’s a worthy addition to my woodworking tools. ¶ The protractor was made in China.

The WEN Laser-Etched Miter Saw Protractor is a must have if you are doing crown molding, trim work and other angle work. The Miter Saw Protractor is made of Alloy Aluminum. It Laser-engraved is really easy to read to get those accuracy cuts. It has a internal O-Ring that swivels to make it a opening and closing smooth. It has two scales, one for outer cuts for single cuts and the other is for inter cuts for miter cuts. The Miter Saw Protractor is well made that will last for years. It cost with a two warranty

WEN 7.25-Inch Aluminum Alloy Miter Saw Protractor with Laser-Engraved Scales – This is one of those tools that should be in every carpenter’s toolbox. It improves mitering accuracy and saves time while installing trim, crown molding and chair-rail, tile or many other tasks. I have owned similar protractors that look and work the same; those were plastic. This one is aluminum and is about the same price as the plastic protractors, but should last a lot longer. I tested its accuracy at several angles with drafting squares and it is dead-on. If I could suggest an improvement, it would be to engrave scales on each leg for measuring short pieces.

This adjustable angle gauge makes reproducing an angle very easy to do. It will give an accurate reading of any angle by rotating the device and reading the angle on the easy to read gauge. It can be rotated and used on either side if necessary. The device is stiff enough in operation to hold the angle while working with it. Machining and markings are well done.

Tool looks good but appears to be off about a degree.

Very easy to use. Up to now, very accurate and due to the construction, I have faith it will remain accurate.

Using the Wen miter protractor for trim and cuts are great. Can even get great bullnose cuts now that I know most of those corners aren't 90 degrees.

Met expectations. Another good tool to have. Watch youtube videos to use, they are helpful.

Excellent tool, the missing link for all kinds of projects.
