I requested these puck lights through the Home Depot Seeds reviewer program so that I could provide more even light coverage in our attic which only has a single light fixture on the wall at the far end by the stairs. This has left the vast majority of the attic completely dark at night when that fixture with a daylight LED bulb is turned on. I tested this puck light set in my livingroom which also does not have ideal lighting sources and these puck lights lit up the room as if I had opened all the curtains during a bright summer day! I am very pleased with our choice of product to review and keep. The only reason why I took a star off is because the screws the manufacturer provided for mounting these puck lights are so short they would never reach a stud through drywall and because the instructions do not specify if you can attach more than 5 puck lights per string. This is critical to deciding which puck light set we will purchase to complete the attic lighting, and possibly basement lighting, since one of their competitors offers a 30 puck light maximum on a single string.

Let there be light, and there was light. Need I say more, this was the easiest way to add a very bright yet discreet light to my kitchen. My house was built with the kitchen open to the living room. Gone are the nights when the desire to have only the TV lights shining in the living room. Whenever my wife is in the kitchen, the kitchen lights have always killed the mood. With this 3.6” LED Puck Lights, those nights are back. Installation was easy as all that was required was, identifying the spot, attaching the lights, connecting the lights to power source and turning it on, that is it. Took me less than 5 minutes to install. This is a great product and it’s highly recommended.

This pack of lights provides a rather flexible set of options for installing the lights. There are five lights and one can install between one and give of them as needed. The power cable is 5 ft long and contains a small inline switch to switch the lights on and off. The five lights are daisy-chained together, each light has about ?? inches of cable on both sides of it. In addition, there are four extension cables, each 12 inches long allowing additional distance to be inserted between the lights as needed using any combination of extensions. I installed my lights in my basement where I have all my internet and network equipment in order to provide good lighting in the area. I was able to position some lights in the ceiling and some on the walls and under a shelf by inserting the extension cables into the chain of lights. The lights and extensions clip together securely and are easy to connect and disconnect. Each light puck has a 'base’ that can be screwed onto the mounting surface using the small screws provided. When surface mounting the bases, ensure you have them oriented correctly so that the holes for the power cables are where you want them. Once in place, the cables can be threaded through the holes and pulled through as the puck light is pushed into the base. Alternatively, the pucks can be pushed into 2⅜” holes. A small cover lens clips onto the front of each light. The light covers are white. Black is also available. Even though these are LED lights, they do get rather hot when running, but certainly don't pose a fire hazard as halogen lights do. The lights are very bright and you can also run them through a dimmer if required. The print size of the instructions is very small. Overall, a well thought out and manufactured product. Specs: 1190 lumens 18.7 Watts Warm white 3000°K 25000 hours LED life One year limited warranty Made in China

I had a set of older style low-voltage Xenon bulb puck lights under my kitchen cabinets. Even at 20W they seemed rather dim, were hot to the touch, and one of the bulbs was constantly burning out, so I thought I would replace them with these no-maintenance LED puck lights. These work well, and they don’t run hot. The LED light seems even whiter that the Xenon light they replaced but they are still appealing to me (see before & after pics). And I was able to ditch the low-voltage transformer that took up space. I chose a surface mount installation and it was moderately challenging, primarily because the tiny (#1 Philips or smaller) head fasteners are difficult to engage. Certain applications may be more challenging to complete using this product – namely, where the distance between the electrical source and the furthest puck exceeds the length of the wire provided (5-pucks with 16” of wire/light each, 3-wire extensions at 12” each, and 1-plug-in wire at 5ft, for a total length of about 14ft 8in). These lights are prewired using "proprietary" connection clips, so the total distance between the furthest light and the power supply will be limited to the supplied electric cord – although you may be able to patch a cord to extend its length, you should still observe electric code requirements – this is, after all a 120V product. Additional proprietary wire connections (available from the manufacturer) were unnecessary for my application. These pucks can also be recessed into holes drilled in the underside of the cabinet, which because they are cool to the touch is a reasonable option. I chose to surface mount them underneath the cabinets, because once holes are drilled into a cabinet, the install becomes semi-permanent. Also, recessed lights would require modifications to the cabinet interior as well as the additional routing of wires through the interior. The surface mounting was not as easy or intuitive to do as I anticipated. It was necessary to consult the printed instructions to figure out how to release the mounting shell from the rest of the puck assembly (friction fit -- the center light fixture releases when pressed hard through the backside using your thumbs). The electric wires routed between the pucks were not visible when standing at the counter. Some things that could make this product better: 1. Larger printed installation instructions would be helpful. No kidding, I used a magnifying glass to read them. Chances are very good that you will need to consult the instructions as I did. 2. The manufacturer supplies the EXACT amount of mounting screws needed (10) to surface mount the pucks. It would be helpful is one or two, extra were supplied, because these are very tiny and easily lost (lucky I did not lose any). 3. Lacks brightness control. On or off are your only light control options, operated by a rather cheesy in-line wheel switch. Although this product is designed to create a largely invisible (hidden) installation, it can be a challenge to fully hide the unsightly supply cord (and switch if it is used to operate the lights). The inline switch itself is positioned within 12” of the plug, meaning the plug will probably also be visible too. An option to hide the inline switch, would be to insert the plug into an outlet that is hidden from view, (for instance located above or under the cabinet) that can be controlled by a separate wall switch at the counter. This is what I did. 4. The puck lights that I replaced with this product, had an accessory dimmer switch that operated with a finger tap. That would be a nice feature here too. The printed instructions provide no information about the availability of such a device nor do they list compatible dimmer switches. I took a chance and replaced my common single wall switch with a Lutron LED-compatible dimmer switch and it seems to work well with this product. 5. The manufacturer states that you should lay out your project before starting, and if you find you need additional wire, it can be obtained by calling their customer service. Really? As a practical matter laying out the components on a flat surface is hardly a substitute for turning corners and winding your way around cabinet surfaces. You might not really know what you need until you are in the middle of the installation and by then, are you willing to drop everything and suspend installation to make a call for a small part? Save consumer frustration – make wire extensions available online and/or at the retail store. When all is said, my installation was successful, and I think this is a nice product that I would recommend to others.

This is a nice light kit. The lights are good quality and very bright. Each light has a 5 inch cord on either side. The installation kit includes two 12 inch extension cords and a good size power cord. Installation is easy. I installed 5 lights and then changed to 3 lights. The whole installation was less than 30 minutes. The lights look good. I've included a few pictures below. I started with all 5 lights but that was too much light for the space. I changed to 3 lights and it looks great.

This Westek 3.6 inch white puck led undercabinet light (5-pack) is a good product in look and brightness. It is versatile in its assembly as you can add the amount of puck lights you need with quick connectors, however, I did have some of the connectors come off when taking the lights out of the box. Just make sure you put them back on the right way. The only thing I was a little disappointed in is that this does not come with a dimmable switch, just an on off.

Nice lights but the description doesn't tell you what you may want to know. These can be installed through large holes in the bottom of the cabinet or by the included mounting brackets. Not sure how you could run the wires for the holes in the cabinet method but the instructions say you can. That is if you can read the incredibly tiny print of the instructions. The individual light cords have snap together fittings allowing the lights to be linked and so you can use the 12" extensions if needed. They don't say anywhere that the lights are already set up to be 16" apart. so with the extensions added, the lights could be up to 28" apart. The plug/switch cord is 5 feet long. That worked for me because I used these over a workbench but could be too long in a kitchen as it could be a challenge to hide it under a cabinet. At 1190 lumens, I found them too bright for my taste in my kitchen but for my shop workbench, that much light worked well.

This kit is in the Westek DIY Series and, as the name suggests, it is really easy for the competent DIYer to install. Many under counter light systems are low voltage and operate via a wall mounted light switch but that complicates the installation whereas this set of five LED puck lights is 120 volt and the switch is built in to the cord. The five lights can all be operated from the one switch by using the included cords to safely link the lights together over a larger area. The light is a warm and bright 3000 Lumens and the spread of the light is very even. The build quality is good and the plastic housing fits the light unit snugly. The lens cover is frosted to better diffuse the light.

Puts out a lot of light. Recommend a dimmer switch. I wish they were a little thinner than 1 1/8” as they protrude below my upper kitchen cabinets. I modified them by removing the plastic cross mount to attach to bottom of cabinet with screws. Then I used a belt sander on bottom plastic housing to make them a bit thinner. Then I used 3m double surface tape (used for car trim) to attach light under cabinet. Caution, cut 3m tape much smaller than puck light cause this stuff really sticks. Try it on a scrap piece of painted or varnished wood to see how hard it is to remove when one eventually burns out. Much easier to use double surface tape then screws. If these lights were 3/4” or 7/8” they would be less noticeable. 3m dble surface tape is much thinner than velcro. By sanding the bottom housing I got the light down to 15/16" of an inch reducing the thickness by 3/16 “ which helped make it barely noticeable. Another solution is install a matching 1/2” x 3/4” wood runner under bottom front edge of wall cabinets that would better hide the lights. Also the cost of these lights was very reasonable.

I now have nice, bright lighting for my countertop, but installation was a nightmare. Super-lousy design! Would love to say much more about that, but am limited to 300 characters. In the end, I supported lights with mounting foam, duct tape, and cup hooks, which I strongly recommend.

These lights are great. They don't heat up, they're very bright and the connector cords are long enough to fit most applications. I like everything about this set of lights except the screws. They're pretty useless. If you try to use them under your cabinets, as I did, they'll go all the way through

This 5-pack of LED puck lights seemed to be just what I was looking for to illuminate our large 5x8 picture window from the top at night. These lights are BRIGHT!! My husband gave the project a thumbs down because: 1 lights are too bright 2. they don't lay flat on top so difficult to install 3. they need to be plugged in solar activated would be better. I really like everything about this light set except the ease of installation is overstated and it wouldn't hurt to have instructions that do not need a magnifying glass to read.

These 3.6 in. LED White Puck Light (5-Pack) by Westek for under-cabinet use have 1190 Lumens and are linkable. I have found that the LED lighting is perfect for long lasting, energy efficient utility lighting in my home. I installed these in my kitchen under the cabinet. They are easy to install by just plugging them in so they will occupy one of your counter-top outlets. This set included 12 linking cords allows for multiple units to be powered by a single outlet, there are 5 in this pack. Manufacturer Warranty is for limited 1 year and they have a 90 day return policy.
