A:  Hello NeedFlexibility, thank you for your question. You do not have to use all of the pucks if desired, they are linked together by detachable linking cords.

Q:Hi there I currently have the westek portable cabinet light 120 volt, 20 watt lights installed (blub type JDCGY8) . I want to change these to the new LED style lights. Are the linking cords compatible with the old system? Can I unplug the old lights and plug in the new lights to the old system? Thanks

A:  Hi, thanks for your question. We do not recommend using old wiring with new products. Not only are the connections likely not the same but it is better to use the new cords, power supply etc that is included with the new lighting.

A:  Here are some pictures I took of the lights just before installation. If you enlarge the pictures you can see the connectors. Maybe you can see enough to decide. Hopefully this might help.

A:  This is a 110v powered unit (i.e., it is NOT low voltage), and as such you can plug it into a suitable dimmer device to control light output. I did that with mine and it worked fine.
