Had this unit for about 5 years. Did an okay job but never really got super cold. It's not built to be a refrigerator for wine, but rather just something to help keep temperatures from going wild with the room. If your room is in the 70s-80s, this will have a hard time getting this down into the 60s internal temperature. But perhaps the biggest gripe is that it died after 5 years. Replacement parts aren't that expensive, but the manufacturer stopped making them already, so they offered a "discounted" price of $200, which is more than I paid for it new and more than it's selling here.
Don't expect this to last a long time and once it dies, it's basically unable to be repaired.

The product was unsuitable for the environment that it was placed in. It was not made clear on the product data that thermoelectric cooling is highly dependent on the ambient temperature. In this case, it turned out that this product will only meet its internal temperature specification if the ambient temperature is 70 degrees F or below. The area where I placed the cooler has an average ambient temperature higher than that and so it was ineffective and had to be returned. The return process (to a local store) though was easy, rapid and relatively painless.

When I received it and removed it from the box it was dented in the back. I figured that was just cosmetic, so I plugged it in and let it get the required temperature. The box it arrived in was pristine so it wasn't the shippers who damaged it, either. Given the apparent and total disregard for quality control, along with prior negative reviews, it doesn't make me comfortable just exchanging it for an undamaged model. This is going back for a straight refund. It looks pretty decent outside of the cheap plastic handle. Pretty bummed it didn't work out.
