I used these to roll my cabinets and they turned out nice. These did not shed at all. I didn't even de-shed with tape prior, testing the claim "guaranteed not to shed". I would highly recommend these for smooth surface rolling.

Holds a lot of paint; difficult to clean
I've tried similar, small, roller handles and covers, and have found them wanting, but, the Wooster Pro 12" long roller handle was easy to hold, use, and clean. The Wooster 4" cover took a little effort to go onto the roller, and needed quite an effort to remove, but, I'd rather have it that way, than have it come off in mid-stroke, as I've had with previous rollers and covers. The handle's rubber and plastic grip dovetail into each other (I tried photographing it, but, the black and blue colors aren't visually clear enough). I'm not clear on the intent, but, it seems to work fine, and I was very comfortable using it, even at such an awkward stance. The photo of the ceiling shows where drywall had been replaced and primed (the paint stirrer attached to the wall was both a visual reference point for this review and to prevent me from getting too close to the wall). I needed only about 2 ozs of paint to cover the approx 1' ft sq area, because the covers absorbed a great deal of paint without spilling. The only "problem" I had was that it was difficult to move the roller when I dipped it in the paint (i.e., it was stiff), but, rolled nicely on the bumps in the paint tray. It didn't let a single drop come off the covers, except where I needed it, of course! The result photo shows only the first coat. The second coat is even better, but, I thought it best to show the impressive results of the first coat. Clean-up took a while, because the cover held a lot of leftover paint, which was unexpected and somewhat wasteful, but, I didn't need a lot, and am satisfied with the result. The cover dried nicely, and, though the nap wasn't as fluffy as it was when new, I felt no difference in consistency or see any difference in the result, when I applied the second coat. It felt solid and sturdy in my hand, yet I never felt any weight, per se. As such, I heartily recommend both the roller and cover!

Good product, but look at Wooster's other mini roller covers too
This is the second Wooster mini roller product I used, the first being a 3/8" roller cover. Overall, this new 1/4" product is good, but I wasn't completely impressed. It holds a bit less paint than the thicker roller, and for the semi-smooth surface I was painting (an old window frame), the coverage just wasn't perfect. I also sensed that the roller was sliding occasionally rather than rolling. That being said, in general, the mini roller format is fantastic for small jobs, like the small window frame shown in my photograph. I just don't think this particular thin roller cover is worth the money. If it were a lot cheaper than the thicker Wooster product, it might be an OK pick for smooth surfaces, but as I write this review, the 2-pack is only 30 cents cheaper for this thinner version. Here are two other Wooster products to consider: (1) the 4-1/2" x 3/8" roller two-pack for around the same price, but offering more versatility (2) the 4-1/2" x 3/8" roller six-pack for $10 - a much better value!

I love these rollers.
This style roller does not want to skid as much as others. You can use these to paint almost anything. I used it this time on a small bathroom repair of a ceiling.

Great Quality Roller Cover!!
This is a very solid & high quality roller cover. No shedding of material on painted surfaces. This size cover is a great size to compliment other full size rollers on your painting projects!!!

Good Size - Efficient paint application
I just completed a complete interior painting of my house, including baseboards and trim applying a Behr latex satin sheen. The roller proved to be a perfect size for many narrow wall areas (4-1/2” roller), especially deep window wells (see picture) and baseboards. The cover produced a smooth finish, using a Wooster cage frame, and it cleaned easily and rolled evenly, even when applying a thicker paint material. I don’t know if this roller cover will fit other roller frame brands, but I was very satisfied with the clean, smooth, lint-free results using this product.

Good Small Space Roller
Waterproofed some outdoor steps with these. I needed to get into some small spaces around the stairs and supports, so this seems like a good choice. The roller is small enough to easily fit into a gallon can... I wouldn't go that with paint probably, but with a liquid waterproofing stain, it made the project go quite fast. These are woven, and do leave a texture as you can see in some of the pictures below. I think the texture would look good for paints, but for my application the liquid evened itself out, so no texture in the final finish. The rollers also have a nice plastic tube, so if you want to wash them out and reuse them, you can without compromising the tube. The roller cage is very solidly made, with a good ergonomic grip. No issues at all with getting it into tight spaces, and no problems with skips.

I used these to paint a number of Masonite six panel textured interior doors. Way faster than painting doors with a brush. Also great for rolling small wall widths between openings.
