Other than being heavy, assembly is quite easy, my wife and I did it in less than 1 hour. Hub caps would not stay in hubs but that was an easy fix by using a pair of pliers and putting small crimps on the mating surface. The hardest part was getting oil in the engine without spilling, had to tip the splitter up on end and use a small funnel to accomplish this task. Started easy and ran smooth. Put it to the test with a 20" long 13" round twisted knotty piece of hard wood and the splitter didn't strain one bit split the log with ease. I have put only one cord through the splitter so far and have not had any problems. Awesome machine at a good price.

Love the log splitter even though the cylinder leaked right out of the box customer service let me take it wherever I wanted for repair & it was handled Yes inconvenient but they stood by it so I give them an excellent rating

works ok, however the plastic parts on the briggs and Stratton motor are flimsy. the icons for the choke and other controls are impossible to see.

Nice splitter for the money. Got free delivery. Used it a few times, seems well built and reliable. Make sure you shut off the gas after using it or you'll prematurely change the oil in the engine... I'm happy with this purchase.

Never split a single piece of wood. Might be a good splitter, but mine was delivered with a screw missing from the bottom of the carbeurator. So gas poured out when you tried to start it. Took it back to HD for a full refund. HD staff was great. Maybe I just won the bad luck lottery but Who knows.

Seems pretty heavy at the tongue when I try to lift it to put on hitch. Also heavy to put in stand up position.

Definitely a two person job to assemble but instructions were good. Add oil and you are ready to go.

Arrived o time, set up was pretty quick. Haven't been able to use it yet due to the abundance of rain. But looking forward to it.

Easy to put together. Simple straightforward directions and packaging. Started first pull. Powerful. 20 inch green oak didn’t even slow it down.

Very easy, good machine

Only reason I didn't give the highest rating was the appearance. The orange paint was peeled off in many places and showed much rust underneath. Even the manufacturer logo was scraped off. It splits wood to my expectations....which for me is really all that matters.

Well made,easy to assemble,works great

Received our order sooner then we thought. The splitter was wrapped very well but I must say they over did it. My husband who is 81 and myself 70 had to take it apart because of the plastic it had wrapped around the beam and we could not take the heavy plastic off. By pulling the ram , it still did not worked. We had to pull pin, then it fell apart. We had to call friends to come over before we wrecked it before we got started. What a mess. Was NOT HAPPY! After a few days we used the splitter and it seems to be working fine. I wjould recommend that you need help doing this. They showed in other videos that it was light and only one person could move it around. WRONG. This is very heavy for us two old folks and used our one ton to move.

Powerful unit !

Does a very good job. Split some 24" oak logs. Only about two cords so far. Starts easy.

it will split pine,red oak,white oak, anything I love it.

Have not used it yet because of weather, but wife and I both watch the video on how to put it together, no warning on how heavy the main part was that had to be put up vertically, we both hurt are backs and arms trying to get this up, we are still healing from this!!!

Works Great. Split 1/2 a cord in just 45 minutes. It was a little hard to assemble, as my wife and I are both 63 yrs. old. Would be easier for a couple young men to do.

Easy assembly!

Heavy duty. Very impressed with how it's put together. Make sure you have some help - everything is solid and heavy. Really going to put it to use this weekend but what little ive done - I'm very pleased with it so far

This is quite the amazing machine in my book. It is fast and can go through anything I've been able to come up with. Wood I would normally throw aside for the burn pile dew to too many knots or burls, it has no problems with. Goes right through the gnarliest of oak with ease.

Works great especially on small cuts used For smoker or chiminea which otherwise is difficult to handle small pieces. Full size logs no problem just need flat ends to avoid slipping. Good ranch implement.

The splitter works great has lots of power and the staff was nice when I went to pick it up. Its a very good machine.

Bought this for my parents. It has been great. Dad loves the 4-way splitting head, it really saves time.

A little difficult to unpack & assemble due to the weight. But overall, not a mental challenge to assemble. 1st time I used it, it split 16" diameter elm logs with ease. Where as my splitting maul would just bounce off the hard elm.

Assembly was easy but you have to have flat ground to do it. If you have a gravel driveway and have it delivered, make sure the delivery truck has a piggyback forklift due to the weight.
