GIFT CARDS

The Home Depot Gift Card is a plastic or digital Gift Card with monetary value. It may be used to purchase The Home Depot merchandise in stores or online on homedepot.com.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal and The Home Depot Credit Card to purchase The Home Depot Gift Card. Please note that neither a Home Depot Gift Card nor a Store Credit may be used to purchase Gift Cards.

We can ship your Gift Cards to anyone with a valid street address within the 50 United States (we cannot ship to addresses outside of the U.S. at this time) or you can purchase an eGift Card and have it emailed to your recipient.

Gift Cards may be shipped to valid street addresses within the 50 United States. We do not ship Gift Cards outside of the United States.

You may purchase a Canadian Home Depot Gift Card online at homedepot.ca You may also purchase Canadian Gift Cards by visiting a local Home Depot store in Canada.

You may order Home Depot Corporate Gift Cards by visiting the Home Depot Corporate Gift Card page. For questions regarding an order, you may call a Gift Card sales associate at 1-866-232-9040.

Shipping time will depend on the delivery method you select. Listed below are the delivery options:

Orders received between Friday 12 noon EST and Monday 5:00 a.m. EST will be shipped on Monday. Currently, we are shipping to U.S. addresses only.

You may check the available balance on your The Home Depot Gift Card in one of two ways:

                        
1.  Visit any The Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you.  
2.  Check your balance online at homedepot.com.

Yes, if the Store Credit has a PIN. Store Credits must have a PIN on the back to be used online.

Yes. The Home Depot Gift Card may be used to make purchases online at homedepot.com.

The Home Depot Gift Cards are not returnable and cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash (unless required by law), check, credit, or payment on any credit or loan account nor Tool Rental deposits.

Please retain your Gift Card(s) until you have either received your online order or picked it up at a store location. No charges will be deducted from your Gift Card(s) until your order has been shipped out to you or until you receive your Order Ready for Pick Up Notification.

Yes. You can reload your Gift Card at any The Home Depot store.

eGift Cards

In addition to the plastic Gift Card, you can also purchase The Home Depot eGift Card through homedepot.com by clicking on the eGift Card option. This will take you to our partner site—CashStar. CashStar will take the order, process the payment and distribute the eGift Card. Once the purchase has been completed, the eGift Card will be sent to the recipient within several hours or sooner. The recipient may use their eGift Card to make purchases at any The Home Depot store or online at homedepot.com.

Plastic Gift Cards are sent to recipients via mail. eGift Cards are sent via e-mail and can be printed out, added to Apple Passbook or saved to Google Wallet. Both plastic and eGift Cards have no fees or expiration dates and are redeemable at any The Home Depot store or online at homedepot.com.

No. You will only be charged the face value of the eGift Card, and we will not impose shipping or any other fees at any time.

Once you have purchased an eGift Card, you may add additional funds to the card by reloading it at any The Home Depot store.

If you chose a delivery date that is in the future, you can cancel your purchase by contacting CashStar Customer Support at 1-866-903-9161. If the delivery date is today or in the past, your purchase cannot be cancelled or returned.

We can accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal. Neither The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card nor The Home Depot Commercial Revolving Charge Card can be accepted as payment for an eGift Card purchase because this site is operated by The Home Depot's third-party partner, CashStar.

Your credit card is charged at the time of purchase. This purchase will appear on your credit/debit card statement as HOMEDEPOT CSTAR GFTCRD.

Yes. To do so, enter your own email address in the "Recipient Email" fields, and enter your own name as the recipient name. Complete the transaction normally. When you receive your eGift Card alert (via email), follow the instructions in the message to retrieve and redeem your eGift Card.

To do this, select the “Hand Delivery” tab and enter your own email address in the "Recipient's Email" field and complete the transaction normally. You will receive an eGift Card alert via email. Follow the instructions in the message to retrieve your eGift Card, and then choose "Click to print this page." The resulting printout may be presented as a gift to the recipient, and may be redeemed at any U.S. The Home Depot store and on homedepot.com.

No. The purchase of an eGift Card is operated by The Home Depot's third party partner, CashStar. To buy The Home Depot merchandise, you will need to go to homedepot.com and make the merchandise purchase in a separate transaction.

On the delivery date you choose, an email is sent to the recipient informing them of your gift, with a link to retrieve it online. The link in the email goes to a page showing the eGift Card you created, its value and eGift Card number. This page also gives simple instructions for redeeming the eGift Card.

The eGift Card alert message is sent to the recipient on the date you choose. The delivery date is pre-set to the current date, so if you do not select a different date, the alert message is sent on the same day as your purchase, within hours or sooner after your transaction is complete.

Yes. Just like a plastic Gift Card, you do not have to provide any ID to use your eGift Card.

There is no expiration date on your eGift Card. 

Yes, you can reload your eGift Card at any The Home Depot store.

All personal and financial information is transmitted using the https protocol over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), utilizing state-of-the-art technology for consumer protection. Behind the scenes, your Web browser is sending all personal and financial information over SSL. The eGift Card purchase process is fully PCI compliant. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact CashStar Customer Support at 1-866-903-9161.

You will receive an email message confirming delivery, and a message notifying you that the eGift Card has been viewed. If the eGift Card is not viewed within 15 days after delivery, you will receive a message with options for resolving the issue. You may also contact CashStar Customer Support at 1-866-903-9161, with the order number from the email you received confirming your purchase.

If you misplaced your eGift Card, you can reprint it by clicking on the link in the original email. If your eGift Card was lost or stolen, contact CashStar Customer Support immediately at 1-866-903-9161. If your eGift Card has not been redeemed or has some remaining value, we can cancel the original and reissue a new eGift Card to you for the remaining value.

You must safeguard your eGift Card for your own protection. If someone makes a copy of your eGift Card and redeems it for the full amount, your copy will have no value. No matter how many copies are made, the value of the eGift Card is tied to the Gift Card number. When that number is used, the value of the purchase is deducted from the eGift Card. If you suspect that someone has copied or stolen your eGift Card, contact CashStar Customer Support immediately at 1-866-903-9161. Any value that has not been used can be reissued to you in a new eGift Card.      

Store Credits

No. Beginning June 30, 2016, The Home Depot will no longer permit Store Credits to be redeemed online.

To avoid potential fraud, theft and consumer confusion, beginning June 30, 2016, The Home Depot will no longer permit Store Credits to be redeemed online. This change may also protect customers from purchasing fraudulent store credits from third parties.

Yes. Beginning June 30, 2016, The Home Depot will no longer permit any Store Credits, regardless of date of issuance, to be redeemed online.

Visit a local The Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Store Credit balance inquiries cannot be made online. Please note that you will no longer be able to receive balance inquiries by calling 1-800-HOME-DEPOT.

Yes. Gift Cards can be purchased and redeemed in-store and online.
