The size of the laundry area will determine the depth of the dryer needed. Within GE Dryers, we carry products that measure 20 to 25 or greater inches deep.
What is the difference between an electric dryer and a gas dryer?
An electric dryer is completely powered through electricity and uses electrical currents that are sent through a coil to create heat. The heat is transferred to the surrounding air and forced through the dryer using a fan. Most electric dryers operate on a 240-volt current which is more powerful than the strength provided in a normal household outlet. To utilize an electric dryer a dedicated outlet must be installed. A gas dryer uses electricity to power the dum, fan and lights and uses natural gas or propane to generate heat. Within GE Dryers, we carry 10 gas dryers and 16 electric dryers. Check out our Washer and Dryer Dimensions for more information on electric and gas dryers.
