How to Revitalize Your Front Walkway and Entryway for Fall Using Vigoro Products
Fall is a great time to revitalize the walkway path and entryway to your home. Adding in landscape fabric and mulch helps reduce the growth of weeds and helps seal in moisture around in ground plants. Easy to install edging helps define the space while keeping the mulch in place. Utilizing barrel planters provides a vessel to house entryway plants. Add seasonal decor to the entryway door and walkway to celebrate the changing weather and fall holidays.

1. Clean Up Current Entryway Flower Beds and Hedges
The key to a beautiful looking entryway is proper prep work. Removing weeds and overgrown foliage will help deter future weed growth.
Pull weeds and any overgrown or dead foliage from the flowerbeds.
Trim any hedges (September - October) to desired shape.
Discard weeds. Add hedge trimmings to compost.
Pressure wash or clean walkway and entryway if needed.

2. Install Vigoro Landscape Fabric
Landscape fabric helps reduce weed growth and helps keep the soil moist.
Using a rake, even out the flower bed soil removing any large clumps or rocks.
Measure out landscape fabric and cut as needed to fit your flower beds.
Secure landscape fabric in place by hammering in the Vigoro lawn staples.
Cut slits in fabric as needed to ensure fabric doesn’t cover existing plants or shrubs.

3. Install Vigoro No Dig Edging
The no dig edging serves multiple purposes. It acts as a decorative element to host flower and shrubbery beds while also helping keep mulch contained.
Add edging along the flowerbed and walkway.
Secure edging every 1-2 feet by hammering edging spikes into the edging holes.
Trim edging as needed or use included connector piece to attach additional no dig edging.

4. Add Vigoro mulch
Vigoro Mulch adds visual interest, helps prevent weeds, and keeps flower bed soil moist.
For best results and coverage use one bag of mulch for every 2 cubic feet.
Pour mulch over the landscape fabric and spread in an even layer about 3 inches deep.
Use enough mulch to cover the entire flower bed and bring the much all the way to the no dig edging.

5. Plant Flowers in Decorative Pots
Adding greenery and flowering plants adds visual interest to any entryway.
Fill wooden Vigoro barrel planter 2/3 of the way full with Vigoro all purpose potting soil.
Add in a variety of outdoor Vigoro plants based on the sun coverage of the area.
Fill the remaining space in the planter with potting soil and give the plants a deep watering.

6. Add in Additional Seasonal Decor
Seasonal decor changes with the seasons. Pumpkins and hay are great options for fall. Pine garland is a great option for the winter months.
Add a seasonal wreath to the front door and change out with the seasons as needed.
Add pumpkins (or other seasonal door) as needed to line the walkway and entryway area.
