What do I do to prepare my home for scorching summer temps?
Be certain your home is set for summertime temps by repairing faulty parts of your home. If water gets inside the cracks, you might be in for a headache. Check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage. On the outside of your house, examine metal roofing or shingles for damage that may let water come in. Keep gutters functional and clear to prevent overflow from entering your home when storms arrive. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped out if they're badly weathered.
What kinds of moving boxes do you have?
Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make your move easier. We've got the sizes you want, including specialty ones like TV and wardrobe boxes. Cushion any and all items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Look into our rental moving trucks, too, and take care of your DIY move needs in one place.
Should I get an inverter generator or a portable generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with severe thunderstorms or tornados, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements take it out. When searching for generators for sale, remember that inverter generators are pricier than portable generators, but they're also quieter and cleaner. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows.
Do you have wired or wireless doorbell cameras?
Enjoy privacy, peace of mind, and safety with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a nearby window when you can see animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, a useful interaction to scare off would-be porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Several cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
What's the project at the Home Depot Kids Workshop this month?
Head to our Kids Workshop on the 4th of July, from 9 a.m. to noon or while supplies last. It's time to assemble a wooden go-kart! Your little builder can put together their very own go-kart craft — like the race circuit version but kid-sized. Remember to leave some time to race your new go-kart toy with others!
