Frequently Asked Questions About Your Store

How long is the Garage Storage Sale?

The Home Depot Storage Sale is here, so it's time to get shopping. From storage bins to garage bundles, we've got deals on what you need for a clean and neatly arranged garage. Shop the sales online or in-store from June 22nd through August 18th, 2026, and make this the year you organize the basement and the garage.

Where can I buy back-to-school supplies for my dorm?

Come see us for your college dorm essentials. Use moving boxes or storage containers to transport your belongings, and cleaning supplies and disinfecting wipes to sanitize the space. Bring a tub of spackling to fill old nail holes and Command adhesive hooks to hang string lights and wall art. Extension cords and power strips let you place floor lamps, mini fridges, and microwaves where you need them. If you didn't get a new school backpack or underbed storage yet, we've got those, too. Be prepared to head back to college with helpful products from your Gastonia Home Depot.

What home repairs should I make before summer storms hit?

Be confident your home is ready for relentless summer weather by replacing or repairing faulty components of your home and hardscaping. Check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. If water gets in the crevices, you could be dealing with damage. On the exterior of your home, examine shingles or metal roofs for damage that can let water in. Keep gutters functional and clear to keep rain overflow from entering your home when storms arrive. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if they're in poor condition.

What types of moving boxes do you have?

Make your move easier by picking up a variety of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you're looking for, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it safely. Don't forget to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those as well.

Is it good to have a generator at home?

Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with severe thunderstorms or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements take it out. When searching for generators for sale, remember that inverter generators are more expensive than portable generators, but they're also quieter and cleaner. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.

What benefits do doorbell cameras have?

Enjoy privacy, peace of mind, and safety with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. Stop peeking through a peephole when you can watch human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you speak to whoever is at the door via your phone, a useful interaction for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Several cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as needed.

No one wants to help you resolve problems for or even help for that matter!
I have had issues with a shower kit I bought to begin with. They did however replace it but the second one did the same thing. Fortunately my contractor figured out a way to make it work as I really liked the look. Next I bought shower doors which the header bar( this is what the glass hangs and slides on ) is scratched up bad. I am getting the run around trying to get a replacement. Still has not been resolved and no one will call me back about it!!

      Exemplary Customer Service
The Special Services Supervisor went above and beyond to assist me in obtaining the Christmas tree in demand this season for my daughter and her fiancé for what will be their first Christmas. She was so pleasant, kind and patient and worked her magic without making me feel like a bother. I can't be more thankful! I also had a wonderful experience with the cashier in lawn and garden the day before. Very kind and helpful. A breath of fresh air! This store is excelling in the customer service area. Thank you for the unexpectedly wonderful experience! Stellar job!

        Very impressed!
We started building a deck, 3 2x32, using Fiberon products. Two other stores new us would run out of items we needed. I called Gastonia store, one hour away. They had everything thing we needed and more! The staff was super friendly and quick to help with our needs. Cashier Sarah was also super nice. Keep up with the good work.

          customer service was excellent
Denise in appliances was so knowledgeable, she was so helpful! We purchased a stove, refrigerator, and washer dryer set. She really asked us what our needs were and lead us in the right direction of our options. We were at the store for a very long time at one point my sugar levels dropped and I started to feel ill because I am diabetic. She went and got me peanut butter crackers and candy!! She went beyond her job description! The next day I went into the store again and I ran into her, she told me she was stocked up on crackers and asked if I needed any! I mean how sweet is that! What an outstanding employee, Home depot you are lucky to have her!

              Disrespectful Manager
I am writing to share a disappointing experience I recently had at your store. Earlier this week, I received a promotion in the mail offering 30% off a purchase when opening a Home Depot credit card. As a first-time homeowner currently working on a patio project, I was excited to take advantage of the offer and signed up for the card specifically because of this promotion. On Friday, I placed an order that included lumber, pebbles, and 280 pavers. On Saturday, my father drove to the store with his truck to pick up the order. Unfortunately, the pavers were not ready when he arrived, so he had to return later in the day. When he came back, we realized the pavers were far too heavy to fit in a single load. Because of this, we decided the best solution would be to switch the order from pickup to delivery. The associate assisting us was very helpful and explained that the only way to make this change was to process a return and then repurchase the order as a delivery. However, when she attempted to honor the original purchase price, she was unable to do so without manager approval. She contacted the manager, who immediately declined the request. She called again to explain the situation in greater detail, but was again told it could not be done. Since I was simply trying to maintain the price I had already paid, I politely asked if I could speak with him directly. When the manager came out, his demeanor was immediately confrontational. As I attempted to explain the situation, he noticed my phone on the counter displaying my order information and accused me of recording him. I explained that I was not recording and that I simply had my order details pulled up. He nevertheless instructed me to turn my camera off. The conversation became even more concerning when he insisted that the 30% credit card promotion did not exist and stated that he had never heard of it. I explained that I had the physical mailer at home, but he suggested I was mistaken and later implied I was trying to obtain discounts that I was not entitled to. At one point, he remarked that I could not "just come in here and ask for coupons." Throughout the interaction, his tone was dismissive and disrespectful. He repeatedly rolled his eyes while I was speaking and treated a straightforward request as though I was asking for special treatment. I was not requesting an additional discount, a price reduction, or any special accommodation. I was simply asking for the original price from an order that had already been purchased and was only being changed from pickup to delivery based on the guidance provided by store staff. After several minutes, he finally agreed to honor the original price but characterized it as doing me a "one-time favor." This was frustrating because I was not receiving any additional benefit beyond what I had already paid for. I have worked in customer-facing environments and understand that difficult situations arise every day. However, there is never a reason to speak to customers in a disrespectful or accusatory manner. The associate who initially helped me was professional, patient, and clearly trying to find a solution. Unfortunately, the manager's behavior overshadowed the entire experience. As someone who recently moved to the area and purchased my first home, I expected Home Depot to be my primary destination for home improvement projects. Instead, this interaction left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. While the pricing issue was eventually resolved, the manner in which it was handled was unacceptable. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future customers do not have a similar experience.

                Great Pro Desk Team
I had issues with the supplier for a special order, the whole team did a great job and got the entire management team involved to ensure that I could get my materials to start my job on time. A special thanks to Tammy for working with me on my initial order and Libby for stepping up and changing to a supplier that could fulfill my order on time.

                  Ripple screen door molding.
I am not using this product as most, I went out to a local lumber yard that only sells Yellow pine bought 7/16 bead board and since it was installed by my son there are some small gaps I decided to cover the nail holes with something more attractive. I am covering them with the old styli screen door molding that has the 3 humps, I stained the entire porch with Bahr Stonehing. It turned out Beautiful. The molding was available and super fast shipping...I am 82 and prefer the older designs. I think my next project will be to install 6' or 8" kick board with the old style cap. By the way no one could order 80ft of the screen door stuff but Home Depot came through again......
