How do I stop cold air from coming in at the bottom of the door?
If you have cold air seeping in under the door, check your door sweep, the rubber piece on the bottom of the door, for cracks and missing pieces. Replace it if it's damaged. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

What projects can I work on when the weather's cold?
In colder climates, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, cleaning up the yard before spring gives the earth time to resettle before plants start growing again. An afternoon cleaning the shed or garage will pay off when the weather warms. If your tools and gardening supplies are all set, tackle cleaning the rest of the house. Get out the cleaning supplies and cleaning tools, then give everything a good scrub.

How do I prepare for snow and freezing temperatures?
When you live in a location where snow falls, it's smart to organize or upgrade your snow removal tool kit before a winter storm hits. Check that the snow blower is working and accessible, then oil up the snow shovels. Don't forget to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep ice melt or salt and a salt spreader. Ensure your outdoor taps are covered and drained, too, with all garden hoses disconnected. Doing this basic prep will help keep you ready for whatever winter weather brings.

Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Our free Kids Workshops take place in-store every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. You may secure your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Frank Tanked
Went to drop off a string trimmer today to be fixed that is still under warranty. Waited in line at the Tools Rental counter for 30 minutes. They were busy and many people were in line. During waiting, the repairman, Frank, walked up and took my trimmer and placed it on the counter so it would be ready when it was my turn. Frank then left. When I got up to the counter, the associate said that Frank had to check me in. Said associate then pushed me aside to wait on the person in back of me. Frank then showed up and the same associate told Frank that he had to check me out, Frank said he had to make a phone call and couldn’t do it. After another 5 minutes, a different associate from the two I mentioned was finally able to check me out. Long story short, employees need deep training in customer service. Place is a joke.

            They desperately need help
Checkout process took more than 15 minutes because there was a problem with the transaction in front of me. Cashier called for help but none came. Also had to wait in parking lot after paying for someone to unlock the gate for bags of dirt. Went back into store twice asking if anyone was going to come. Finally, help arrived, but by golly, he didn't have a key!

              Convenient Location. Friendly Staff
This store is generally well stocked, however I recommend checking online for availability before making the trip. The employees are always helpful, and I've never had to wait at the register for more than 2-3 minutes.
