What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
The adjusted hours give stores the ability to staff appropriately and provide additional time to restock shelves and perform cleaning. As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

Like I indicated in the survey, store employees were very helpful. It is the company policies that I have a problem with. By the way 500 characters is not enough to explain my frustrations. In addition to the manner of delivery, I also asked what the time frame would be for our delivery which is to take place on Thursday August 13. I was told that it would be between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM, a 14 hour time frame. This was in addition to the fact that they will not bring the material, which weighs about 500 lbs., into the house. Sorry, I was told, only curbside delivery due to COVID. However your installers can spend hours inside our house doing the installation. Makes sense? NO. As I indicated, my wife and I are 77 and 76 years of age so schlepping 500 lbs. of material inside is not a minor matter. I asked if they could deliver the material to the front door; sorry, no can do. Curbside delivery only. Your policies are the most customer unfriendly I have seen.

Staff were helpful and genuinely friendly! I was especially impressed that an employee was sanitizing the carriages and ensured that the carriage customers took had been sanitized. While in the store, there were periodic overhead announcements on social distancing. The Bellingham Home Depot is an example of how all retailers should be protecting customers during this COVID19 pandemic.
